Satellite U920T - when I slip on the touchpad no longer works

I use my u920t for almost 10 mount and I like that I can still use the touchscreen when the keyboard is out.

But a couple of days it has stopped working. I can't change anything.

Windows tells me now that the screen is not a touch screen.
Once I put the screen down and switch to Tablet mode, everything works fine.
Tablet PC setting in Control Panel also disappear once the keyboard is on...

I tried to reinstall the driver.
I also did a refresh of windows 8 (no backup, unfortunately)

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help.

> Adjustment of tablet PCs in the Control Panel also disappear once the keyboard is on...
I guess it must be OK because the Tablet PC settings should only be available if the laptop is used in tablet mode

The point is that this laptop can be used in three different modes.
(1) compressed mode-> the keyboard and touchpad are drawn in and touch screen can only be used
(2) laptop mode-> the keyboard and touchpad are pulled
(3) mode photography-> keyboard comes in the but the touchpad is out and can be used as well as the touch screen.

I m not very well if the orientation lock button (on the left) would affect the touch screen, but it turns out that the use of this automatic orientation of the screen rotation button can be enabled or disabled.
If you run the laptop or in photography mode, the orientation of the screen will always be in landscape mode.

Also check if the touch screen has been properly calibrated
Go to the control panel (win key + x Control Panel)-> Tablet PC settings

You will find the first tab called display
Click the Setup button to launch the Setup where you could point to the touch screen
In the substantive area called display display options you could calibrate the touch.

    Hello

Maybe the touchpad button has a physical malfunction.
But first of all, you can try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad. Check if the resettlement will change something. But the truth; I don t think this will solve the problem. Anyway, try is free, you know.

But if that does not help so I think you need to replace the touchpad.

Another problem is a program of freezing at this point as well, this program is Oracle JDeveloper, don't know if that has to do any?

    Hello

Can you please tell us which version of Windows 7, you have installed? I mean if you have 32-bit or 64-bit.

Is it just that you use an external mouse?
The touchpad works after sleep mode? If so I think that it s something wrong with the external mouse maybe.

By the way: make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS. You can find it on the page of Toshiba.

And as for the question of the Oracle, I think you should communicate directly with Oracle support. ;)

  • Z40 cursor disappeared and the touchpad no longer works

Laptop was left on when I went to continue working. Connected again with no problems. The cursor appears but not move not initially and finally slowly disappeared. Tried the touchpad, but it does not work. Managed to get the touchpad settings with the up-down-left-right keys but he had no success to go to the fields of the object. Restarted does not. I tried F6... Nothing. My WiFi on a bike... Nothing. What are your recommendations? Windows 10 ops.

    Dear Mike,

Plug an external mouse will not require a driver, windows will automatically identify it.

    Hi @Reem12,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer laptop 13-3003ex of spectrum HP and issues with the Touchpad and the cursor in the process of disappearance. Some say that you could restore the BIOS using factory default values with this. Here is a document that shows you how to restore the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Touchpad no longer works after update BIOS on Satellite A500-1GL

    Hello world

I just bought my laptop Satellite A500-1GL today. I started at the top and plays a bit (nothing serious). The touchpad worked very well at the moment.

Then I discovered this tool to update the material and the update of the BIOS that worked without any problems. After I restarted the laptop, BIOS, loaded the default values of the installation and recorded.
After that Windows 7 (x 64) started the touchpad no longer works...

I downloaded the driver here and installed again once, still does not. I went into the BIOS, disabled the touchpad (I thought that maybe it's a bug...) and started again. It still does not...

I enabled it again in the BIOS, tried to push the function + F9, but it still does not... Finally, I used the recovery and installed a Windows 7 costs.
    But unfortunately it still doesn't.

Now, I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

    Thanks in advance ;)

    Hello

It seems strange that after update Bios touchpad no longer works.

    > Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

To be honest, I don't know where to find. In any case, do a search on Google. Perhaps, other users of the forum can give you a link to download.
The downgrade of the Bios is riskier upgrade procedure. So, be careful the next time...
Advice for the future; Do not touch the running system.

    Good luck!

I tried the fn and f6 keys but nothing helped, Please HELP!

    Hi Jacob

Thanks for posting your question on Microsoft Community

We understand your touchpad no longer works. We will be happy to help you with the problem.

    1. Since when you are confronted with the problem?
    2. You have a mouse connected to the computer?

Problem may occur because of corrupted or obsolete touchpad drivers. I suggest you follow the troubleshooting methods listed below and check if that helps.

Method 1: Run the hardware and the resolution of the problems of the unit.

If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

    Follow the steps below:

    (a) press Windows + W together.

    (b) write the troubleshooting in the search box right top corner, and then press ENTER.

    (c) click the Troubleshooting tab

    (d) click on display all option on the top left corner.

    (e) select the options of the equipment and devices in the list.

    (f) click Next to run the tool material and device.

Method 2: Update another pointing device driver.

    Follow the steps below:

    (a) press Windows + X key when you're at the office.
    (b) select the Device Manager.
    (c) find and double click on keyboard and another pointing device driver in the left to uninstall Panel
    (d) right click on the device, and then click Update driver software.
    (e) select the search option automatically update driver software.
    (f) restart your computer.

If the problem persists, please try the following method.

Method 3: Uninstall another pointing device driver.

Follow the steps to uninstall the driver.

    (a) press Windows + X key when you're at the office.
    (b) select the Device Manager.

    (c) find and double click on keyboard and another pointing device driver in the left to uninstall Panel
    (d) right click on the device, then click on uninstall.
    (e) restart your computer.

Check the updates of Windows for the latest driver updates.

You can download the drivers for the latest drivers from the link given here and install it. Select the download tab and select the correct computer model number.

    http://us.gateway.com/GW/en/us/content/drivers-downloads

You can also check for any error in the device for the keyboard Manager and the other pointing device driver and write us. Please follow the steps below to see.

    (a) press the Windows key + X Key on desktop.
    (b) select the Device Manager.
    (c) develop keyboard and other pointing device.
    (d) check if there is no error (! sign) or (?) Sign).

I have a new split of HP 13 x 2. The touchpad no longer works. This is the latest driver Synaptics Touchpad (17.0.10.9). I'm under WIN 8.1. I have to close the session and then again for the touchpad to start working again. Any suggestions?

  • Satellite X 200-219 - the touchpad does not work as it should

    Hi all

I recently bought a 2nd hand Toshiba Satellite x 200-219. Had some problems with it that I have overcome now, except one... The touchpad does not work as it should. I think that the cable has been damaged at some point.

So I'm wondering if I should use the same ribbon cable to connect the keyboard to the motherboard or can I get one of a different model of PC Toshiba laptop?

I tried searching on the net for advice but have resulted in nothing so thought I would try the forums.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Lee

I think you can use the items to the satellite X 205 series since this seems to be the same series as X 200:
Found some related parts the touchpad:
    Satellite X 205 / X 200 touchpad Board with cable: reference number: K000047950
    Satellite part number for the TOUCH PAD FFC X 205 / X 200: K000047980

But why you n t come into contact with a Toshiba authorized service provider in your country and order the part necessary and compatible?

  • Satellite C50-A-157 - cannot use the touchpad without maintaining the left button

I know very little on my Satellite C50-A-157. Run on Windows 8. I'm main user/admin and all of a sudden I am unable to move the cursor of the mouse... only average, it seems, I beg, if I hold the botton left hand (at the bottom of the mouse pad) at the same time, it moves.

    But then high-lights everything.

I tried pressing FN + F5, at the same time (nothing happens), even taken battery out back (once again does not solve issue) the arrow of the mouse/is just frozen on the page... This does not happen in my partners profile, (there is another user) the mouse seems to work fine...
I thought it was the mouse pad, had used (as is the brilliant now), but this does not explain why it happens that under my profile/user, not his?

If anyone can offer any help, very much appreciated... I only stumbled across the fact, it allows me to use (if I hold left button at the same time)
Also tried the "sticky keys" shift x 5, even once it does nothing or to solve this problem.
And entered the usinw of control panel Windows + X and distributed in troubleshooting, once again, not solved the problem.

.. This does not happen in my partners profile, (there is another user) the mouse seems to work fine...

Because the touchpad does not work using a different user profile, I guess that there must be only a software conflict.

Usually you can activate or deactivate the touch pad by pressing F5 (or FN + F5), but have you tried this combination and that did not allow the touchpad...
Then there where I bit you should simple uninstall the driver of the touchpad and after downloading the package of newer touchpad driver of the page of the Toshiba UE driver, unzip the and perform the new installation of the touchpad driver...

Once the installation is complete, reboot the laptop...

    Good luck

  • When I tap on the touchpad on my HP Pavilion dv7 cursor sometimes also jumps on the screen

When I tap on the touchpad on my HP Pavilion dv7 cursor sometimes jumps somewhere else on the screen. I sent 2 times to HP and it has been returned without problem found. They advised me to set the pointer at half speed, but it still happens. I found on the HP web site, a newsletter which confirms that they seem to have a problem: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01471084&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=hr&cc=hr&lang=hr&product=4075797#.

It is apparently related to the thread "Windows UPDATE Caused typing problems (Jumping cursor... )" It only happens when I type' and 'double tap', not when I type. So who is to blame?

To disable the option of tapping helps but it is only circumvented the problem.

And HP article points to its own software system BIOS or touchpad as the culprit, not the operating system.  I've seen a number of updates offered on Windows Update that can potentially manure with a touchpad settings; Quick Launch buttons specific to the virtual devices/interfaces/drivers ACPI BIOS that control things like the programmable buttons or special function keys and updated for HP, TouchPad software and driver updates.

Non-Microsoft software and published on Windows Update for driver updates are put there by the respective hardware or software developers, not by Microsoft.  Many users just automatically install what are updates are available without looking too close description of the update and do not realize that they just installed an update to a third-party product as opposed to an update of the operating system.  Some users don't even know the difference.

I would check the forums to support consumer of HP for a potential solution.  Several times, HP will have a new driver or software provision, but he gets only appearing on the support pages and download for currently marketed models, not on discontinued models.
