Save for web dialog PSE 8 for mac...

.. where is he?

Hi all

I recently bought PSE 8 for Mac (running 10.6.2) after having used the trial version for a few hours. I'm PS 7 known (Win version), but discovered that I can do about 95% of the things I've done with 7 PS. Note: this does not mean that I used all the features of the PS 7 lol. In any case, work with it for a few days now and I must say I'm quite impressed, but... where is the registration of the Web dialogue box? Or is it Windows function only? (If so hurray for documentation.) I know that I can choose all kinds of file types when you use "save under...". ', but for me it is not optimized for the Web. On the other hand... If it's... I'm done digging the Web. Friend...

You will find that much, a lot in PSE will not work or does not just when executing a standard account, unless you go through the whole of the change permissions on all folders for the EP, including making save for Web separately. It was simply not designed to run from nothing, but an account admin, for some reason strange adobe. This thread tells how for PSE 6, but you should be able to understand the equivalent files for PSE 8:

    Hello

I bought iMac and it's my first Apple product. Now I have installed Dreamweaver and a few other apps that I use for web design and eveyr time I save a file, if its, PHP, HTML, CSS, PSD, PNG, I get the same file name created next to the source file. For example if I save the SAMPLE file. PHP another file called ._EXAMPLE. PHP is also created. Is it possible to turn this off or these files needs to save for Mac?

Thank you and sorry that sounds like a question of noob, but never used Mac OS X.

You should be able to turn off your hidden files to remove.

Files starting with a. are supposed to be hidden on the Mac, they are the files "users should not need to futz with these.

  • GIF/save for Web problem (PSE 7)

I tried searching for an answer to this problem, but nothing seems to fix everything that happens.

Recently, I had to replace my laptop and from Windows XP to Windows 7.  I transferred the PSE 7 from the old system to the new system and have had no problems with it - until now.  I have an image in format Photoshop 52 - layer I want to save as an animated .gif, with each layer as a different image.  File > > Save As has the ability to save layers as frames, but if I check it, then click on 'Save', nothing happens.  Nothing at all.  On my old system, I would get a new dialogue with options like the quality, duration by frame, loop, etc., but that doesn't happen any more, and there is nothing to save (if I'm going to find the new .gif file, it's just not there). If I do not choose "Layers in images", dialogue .gif does so very well and it has no difficulty to save it as a static .gif file.  But it seems that she won't just save it in animated format.

I'm having the same problem with "save for Web".  Or the option of the file menu or typing command will bring up dialogue to let me record this way.  He thinks maybe a second, but does nothing else and does not record the image.

I tried to reset the layout, just in case the dialog box has been moved somewhere that I wasn't just to see and I tried to reset the preferences to save it for the Web, but none of these things worked.  No explanation as to why a .gif animation 'layers as images"is the only format that is not saving correctly?

I also tried old connections animated that I created with XP, and they will not re - save as animation connections either opening.  I get her "do you want to save changes" dialogue, but clicking on 'Yes' does nothing and does not record updates.  I am at a total loss for why this feature no longer works.

If you right click on the shortcut of items and choose Run as administrator,

It does make a difference or not save for Web work?

Registration of the Web dialogue box is the same dialog box that you would get when checking the layers as frames

  • Save for the Web default file type in PSE 8 on Windows 7

I just installed PSE 8 on a new Windows 7 system. On my previous Windows XP running PSE 6 system, the Save for Web file by default JPEG medium, which is what I wanted to type. On this installation, it is by default every time to GIF format; I have change and save the file as a JPEG, and the following default is again in the GIF format. Closure of PSE, restart Windows, nothing changes that. I would like to make it the default JPEG medium; is there a way?

On a MAC, it doesn't stick on the last option you have saved for example Jpeg, if it was a Jpeg image.

For windows, it seems to work:

Search for the file using Explorer PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (in the folder C:\Program Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0) right-click on this file and choose Run as administrator.

Go back to the editor, open an image, select Save for Web and choose jpeg; then save this file. The next time that you run the editor and use web order registration, type jpeg should hopefully stick as the default.

    1. were you able to see the front dialog box?

    2. did you of recent changes to the computer?

This happens because your screen resolution is less than the required minimum of 1024 x 768.

You can try to change the resolution of the monitor and check.

We apologize for the inconviences. The product team is currently studying the bug and seeks to provide a fix in the near future.

In the meantime, try the suggestions provided by Nolanco or jwsiddons as a workaround.

  • PS Elements 10 - MAC 'Save for web' broken?

Just updated to 10 items PS... find now that 'save for web' will begin with the usual question confirming I want save for web, but then the Panel does not open. Nothing happens.

First of all, save for web only works if you run from an admin account, unless you change the permissions on it. If you run from an administrator account, go to your username > library > Preferences and delete:

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 settings

and any exception Adobe Web prefs

The user library folder is hidden in lion. To see, option-click on the menu go to Finder and it will appear below the small house for your user account.

Repair permissions, and then try again.

  • Save for Web Photoshop Elements 12

The answer to this question is probably obvious, but so far my bulb is not lit.  Once registration for the Web, dialog box opens and my choice is made, how I name where the file will be saved?  When I click do or that you save, the dialog box disappears and I don't have any idea where to find the file.   10 EP, I clicked on apply, then OK and then has the choice to browse and choose a file location.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you click 'Save', you are in the dialog box explore where you can go to your destination folder and click on the Save"" button. I'm on Windows, but I guess it's similar whith Macs.

  • Why save for Web and devices is grayed out?

I have Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS X Lion mountain. PS works fine, until today. On some images, I work with, file > save for Web and devices is grayed out. In addition, to save money, the options are extremely limited. It is obvious that I inadvertently clicked on something that caused this, but I just can't understand that.

I took a screenshot of Photoshop with a test image (test.psd), whose resolution is 72px, RGB, 32 bit, appearance save for Web and devices greyed out. And a screenshot of the Save as dialog box.

Is the first screenshot to http://eastbrookwind.com/screen-shot.jpg

Is the second screenshot to http://eastbrookwind.com/save_as.jpg

I am confused and appreciate much help!

Right. You work in 32 bits per channel. Change your bit depth.

  • Bug in CS5 render anti-aliased text in "save for web".

Looks like there is a bit of a bug when using 'save for web and devices' with light weights of type in CS5 for Mac. Although the slim type looks good while working in Illustrator, as soon as you enter the "Save for web" dialog, it gets seriously distorted. It seems that this issue has been present at least since CS4. It happens not in Photoshop. It seems particularly bad for light text on dark background.

Some people may say ' of course, Illustrator is not really intended for work intensive bitmap. However, with features like "look pixelated" and 'hold on to the pixels', Illustrator is (usually) become a very effective way for web design, and personally I prefer it to Photoshop. It is also clear that Adobe intends it to be used in this way. In order to make anti-aliasing bug is certainly a problem. Just surprised that they don't have not address it when CS5 is born.

I have implemented some images on http://www.thesheep.co.uk/2011/06/24/illustrator-save-for-web-anti-aliasing-problems/ example to illustrate the problem.

Are there any smart workaround for this? It's a bit annoying to have to hover over stuff in PS before exporting, but maybe that's what I have to do. I hope that Adobe will address this soon.

In save for web go to the "Image size" tab and select type optimized menu. It takes the smoothing parameter that you selected in the character Panel.

Get better when you do it like that?

This question has been asked and abonadoned here, so I write because it also happens to me.

    CS4 and CS5 (I tried both), Mac OS 10.6

    1. I select action 'Save for Web PNG', which is part of the package by default, and select "batch".

    2. I choose a source folder and choose a destination folder and check "Override Action"Save"commands."

3 illustrator then performs the backup of Web action, but puts the .png files in the destination of origin specified in the action. It also puts copies of .ai files in the destination folder, I have created and specified in the batch dialog box.

I want the .png files in my folder, and I don't want copies of .ai files.

Pulling my hair out on this one, go to lunch. Thanks in advance for any help
