Save on destination disk problem
Hi guys
I recently bought a laptop with two disks. I put in back-up to drive d, which I also use for my work on the road. On my first backup, I got the following error 'jumped backup D:\Project backup files as it is on the backup target", because my project work is on the backup destination drive. Is there a way to get around this or is it advisable to point my backup to an external drive instead and not back-up my laptop?

Satellite L650 - Windows detected a hard disk problem
I have 9 as 4 months old satellite L650 that this microsoft Windows message keeps popping up. "Windows detected a hard disk problem, back up your files immediately to prevent the loss of information... etc" have I not a bum hard drive or is it a mistake?
I have
have the media discs to recover and this means that I have to reformat the HARD drive and try again. !Hi watthhel,
I think the error message must be correct to Windows 7 and you must do what tells you the message: immediately back up your data and replace the HARD drive with a new one. In your case I would never save important files on the HARD drive. Too risky to lose important files
Your laptop is 4 months old and that would mean it s covered by the warranty. Contact your local authorized service provider and ask for a replacement drive. They will exchange it and the service is free. :)

I have a low disk problem that I am having 40 GB hard disk and using Vista Ultimate as the operating system. How can I remove the space and which are the files may be deleted. Currently, I have removed most of the software.
Information all that 'other Options' are in the link that I have already given:
The other Options tab is available when you choose to clean up the files of all users on the computer. This tab includes two additional ways to free disk space even more:
Programs and features. Open programs and features in Control Panel, where you can uninstall programs you no longer use. The column size in programs and features shows how much disk space each program uses.
System Restore and shadow copies. Guests delete you all but the most recent restore point on the disc.
Use system restore to return your system files to an earlier point in time, restore points. If your computer is running normally, you can save disk space by removing the previous restore points.
In some editions of Windows Vista, restore points can include previous versions of files, called the shots and backup images created with Windows complete PC Backup. This information will also be deleted. For more information about system restore, search Windows Help and Support "system restore."
See you soon.

Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

When you perform a full backup in Windows 7, is also trying to save the destination drive
Hello when I do a backup on my computer he wants to save the destination for my backup disk. I use the Windows 7 professional 64-bit operating system. I know that he cannot back up the drive on which the backup happens. How can I prevent that from happening.
Hi FrancisEarley
Yes, the backup can not be performed if the destination drive is selected in the backup list, if it is selected, then be sure to uncheck this drive and then proceed to the backup or if you want to include this backup disk, and then you must select a different destination location.
For example, you can't back up the contents of drive E: to drive E:
You can follow the steps of manual backup and verification-
(a) open Backup and Restore.
(b), select 'Configuration Backup' or 'back up now '.
(c) and then in the list to save drivers deselect the destination drive, if it is present in the backup list and move forward with new steps to perform the backup.Refer to the below help links -.

Windows detected a hard disk problem after factory reset?
I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5320, not old at all. I tried to download a game and then got the BSOD. I had to reset my PC, lost what I had, but ended up from scratch. Now, every so often, I get a message saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately to prevent the loss of information... ». I have right click the disk hard "defective" for the error checking, no errors found. I tried HD Tune Pro, and tells me 'Warning' for the State of health (05) reallocated sector count (failure) is red, and number of events (C4) reallocated (warning) is yellow. Does this mean I have to replace the hard drive? The computer was working completely fine until BSOD. Now it works and everything but I get this error message. The laptop is not only really old and never any injuries, but perhaps past warranty. I really have nothing left to save, because I lost everything when I have to reset it to factory State. Any advice?
It's really up to you. Sometimes there may be false positives, but it looks like your drive is really having some problems. It was even the cause of the BSOD, who knows.
You can follow the steps of my colleague here to check your drive for errors:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6221-chkdsk-check-drive-errors-Windows-8-a.htmlBut really, I would take the advice and replace the drive. Or at least be prepared for this 'die', then save your files somewhere else like OneDrive or something so you don't lose important information when it does.

On the Satellite C - Windows HARD disk failure has detected a HARD disk problem
Since 2 days have been making repeated dialog "Windows detected a hard disk problem", warning of potential failures of the disc so back up, what I did. Disk in question is a Toshiba MK-5065GSXN.
As a non-tech user, my instinct is that a new laptop is a better choice than to call Toshiba support for a laptop warranty (2 years) out of.
On the other hand there may be a simple software fix. The opinion or advice welcome
Hello
The message says that something is wrong with the HARD drive.
It might be possible that your HARD drive will die sooner or later so his need to backup data on another HARD drive, disk or flash memory. Finally, I must say you n don't need to buy a new laptop just because your HARD drive starts to hurt work in such cases purchase a new HARD drive and replace it
HARD drive is not very expensive and the replacement of the HARD disk is very easy in your user manualPS: what model of laptop you have exactly?

Hello
I was doing some courses on my computer until this window came on my screen and playback;
"Windows detected a hard disk problem. I immediately went and checked in the properties to see the current status of the disk, and it says "this device is working properly" I am confused and decided to restart my computer. Again, read the error message and it says that the disc was allowed in properties. Every 15 minutes or so, the same error message. I'm running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had the computer since 2008. Is this a virus? Or - is this just the computer falsely detect a problem? Can anyone help please?Thank you very much
Liam
What you see in the drive properties in Device Manager has to do with drivers and the drive configuration, not the real state 'physical' the reader.
First of all, I error side of caution and if sure you have a backup of all your personal files, data, music, photos, contacts, movies, etc., external media (favorite external hard drive).
Run the check disk (chkdsk); I suggest to run with two checked options, difficulty of file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
How to run the check disk at startup in Vista or Windows 7
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/67612-check-disk-Chkdsk.htmlMany manufacturers of computers and most hard disk manufacturers have diagnostic tools free you can download and run to check the status of your drive. Check on the web sites of their respective support.

Windows detected a hard disk problem
I have a dell dimension E520 running Vista Home Basic 32-bit. It is about 2 years old. After login, I get the following message in a dialog box. The message continues pop - up every 10 minutes, or so...
"Windows detected a hard disk problem and you need to back up the files and contact the manufacturer to determine whether the disk should be repaired or replaced."
"The next disk reports failure.
Disc name: SAMSUNG HD160JJ/P
Volume: /; C: /.I have run "chkdsk" and also contacted Dell who advised a full diagnosis running. This indicates that all aspects of the computer and the hard drive are ok.
Hello tassie steve,.
You should replace the disk, and then clone on all content, including the MBR (master boot record) to the new drive. What brand you buy, you'll be able to download this free utility software from their site. Do it now, while you can always transfer your data! Hope this helps you. Make it a great day!

What is a Teredo Tunneling Interface Pseudso has a disk problem and can I fix it?
My Windows 7 was freezing after I let it idle for a while. I have to do a hard reboot. Recently, I noticed that I had Dell support help agent and Dell update on my computer but I did not the it. They have been installed at the time my warranty missed. A forum said they had the same problem and the problem stopped after uninstalling them. It did for me too, for about two days but I'm back to freezing.
Another forum says run diagnostics from the manufacturer. I did and I received two error messages. One was 0F00133C and the other was 0F001332 MAG DRIVE - request BIOCIC interrupt (IRO) has not indicated in time. At this point, the computer froze and wouldn't it be fun to just try again. Once again a forum said it was a sign of a dead hard drive.
Just now under system and security of the Control Panel, I had Pseudso - Interface Teredo Runneling has a disk problem and hardware problem cannot have been detected.
This computer can be solved without costing a fortune. They said I should also have other problems with a hard to die, but I did not. Would appreciate any help.
Hello
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you.
I suggest you try the step provided by Nithyananda J replied on March 27, 2010 in the thread mentioned below. The steps helped a lot of people facing the issue with Teredo Tunneling Pseudso-Interface. Hope this will help you too.
Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface this device cannot start. (Code 10)
Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

A message box appears every 10 minutes saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" disk name VOLUME: WDC WD3200BEVT - 602CTI ATA DEVICE: C:\;D:\ If I click on backup now (that I tried to do it on the hard drive Seagate and CD... and it gets to about 35 to 50% then fails)... it goes to the BSOD... Yesterday, I bought a Driver Update. and this morning I ALWAYS get the message "Windows has detected a hard disk problem '...» I'm not very savvy computer... I researched this days... I gave up... Help, please! ....
The disc is a failure.
Copy what you can from it to your backup device. You may need several attempts to make the copy.
Don't try to backup the drive: is not remaining usable for long enough for a full backup complete.
Then replace the disk and reinstall Windows and your applications and data, and retrieve your information from the user of the copied data.
You may be able to make a claim on WD http://support.wdc.com/warranty/index_end.asp?lang=en
