Save "Search results" in a file?
When editing in the CVI, I often usefully copy content from "Search results" in a window of change so that I can change/analysis/filter/sort information. I wish I could do the same thing in the TestStand sequence editor. Is a temporary file that is generated when the TestStand search results are displayed? If Yes, where? If not, is it possible to send the results to a text file? Thanks for any help.

Why can I not see the emails of the search results in the files in offline mode?
When you perform a search in Thunderbird, if the result is in a folder offline, clicking on that result to view the entire email will show nothing. This "bug" has been present for as many years as I use Thunderbird (a very long time).
1 create a folder offline.
2. drag a bunch of emails from a direct IMAP folder to your folder in offline mode.
3. perform a search that will give you results from this folder in offline mode. You will be presented with a list of snippets of email, but no result that resides in a folder in offline mode will be completely empty when you click it. The conversation list and the content of the email will be empty.
Menu (Alt + H) help > troubleshooting information
Click the display folder
Close Thunderbird.
Remove the global messages file - db.sqlite
Restart Thunderbird.I repeat: Thunderbird successfully research and shows me a message body my search results - even from local folders. He shows me the same partial email bodies. It is when I click on a result that nothing happens.
Probably because the index is not received the message of movement and is looking in the old location.

Why search results list of files under several types of files
When I use the search for windows 7, the returned files are listed as several types of files that are not relevant.
In other words, a Word document will return in the results of research as a 'Document' and as a 'video' and an 'image' and 'music '.
The documents do not have no more any music incorporated, photos, objects and videos. How do I put the research so that Windows 7 do not think that the documents are bad or several types of non-relevant files.

Numbering of the GREP search result
Hi all
I am trying to apply some paragraph styles to various items in my document, but rather than static reference to the paragraphs in question (whose position can be subject to change in the future), I try to do a GREP search result-based. The chapters follow the same structure, with a subtitle of chapter ("Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and so on"), followed by a paragraph with the title of the chapter, followed by the first paragraph of the body.
Now, it is easy for me to find the chapter number using a GREP search, and I would like to know if it is possible for me to read the number of paragraph of this search result. In this way, I can start the paragraph numbers of the remaining items on their position relative to the subheading and then apply the styles to paragraph appropriate for them.
All the best and thanks in advance,
Julian
p.s.: as a reference, this is the result of the search:
// Find chapter subheading and apply app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null; app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "(?i)Hoofdstuk \w*\r"; var myStartLine = myDocument.findGrep(); // Save search result for future reference as a first line app.changeGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = myPGS_CS ; myDocument.changeGrep();
Just another idea: If you can find your first paragraph apply the paragraph style, and then loop through all paragraphs in the document and compare the name of the applied style. If you found one, the next paragraph is the current a + 1, the second is the current a + 2.
var curDoc = app.activeDocument; app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null; app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "Head \\d\\r"; app.changeGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "h1"; var startLine = curDoc.findGrep(); curDoc.changeGrep(); var allParas = curDoc.stories.everyItem().paragraphs.everyItem().getElements(); for ( var p = 0; p < allParas.length; p++ ) { var pStyleName = allParas[p].appliedParagraphStyle.name; if ( pStyleName == "h1" ) { allParas[p+1].appliedParagraphStyle = "p1"; allParas[p+2].appliedParagraphStyle = "p2"; } }

Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows XP forum.

How can I print a file search results to a csv file
Vista has a wonderful search file capacity, but manual work to compare the results of two research is painful to contemplate much less.
It has been a while since I coded VBA - a solution - but not an easy one for a single use and I don't even know if VBA is supplied with the distribution of Vista.
So, how to direct the results of a search of file from Vista?
Thank you!
Hello INOV8TN,There is no ability to export file built-in to Windows Search, but it iseasy to copy search results and then paste them into a word processor or aworksheet:After performing a search in Windows Explorer, press on Ctrl + A to select allitems in the right pane. Now, press and hold down the SHIFT key, and thenRight click on your selection. In the context menu, choose "copy as .Path'.»This will paste the results into a spreadsheet for morethe treatment. Spreadsheets can also save data in text files or inother formats such as CSV.Mr. Doug in New Jersey -
Search works well in all indexed locations. However, when you click on "see more results", you get a huge list of random hits in alphabetical order. It's not exactly a blessing:
- because you know not the title if it's the document or image that you want to or not, it would be useful to know the name of the folder it contains and on which drive this file can be found.
- XP would provide the location of the file and the title of a column in another column. This is the behavior I want to make the default for searches.
- If you double-click an entry to select it, you agree to this one, it opens and you lose all your search results (if you guessed wrong, you need to perform a new search).
- the only way to learn the location of an item is to right-click and choose "Open file location" but it is very tedious when you get a lot of results.
Is there a way to change the way in which the "see more results" window displays the results?
Hi Tachi,
To see the path of the files, right-click on the search window, goto view , then select Details.
If you want to save the current search, click on save search.
Kind regards

column of file missing in the bookmarks search results
In the library of all bookmarks page, when you search for bookmarks, the returned list does not record information. When I find dead links, I would go to this bookmark folder to see if there are any more stale bookmarks that are. I guess that more people use tags as the folders and subfolders to sort their bookmarks? For example, under Science, I have astronomy, physics, etc.

I'm a bit confused about the Windows XP search results pane. I need to winnow down remove some of the documentation noted that the results do not apply. If I remove them in the search results pane, am I actually remove the document from the PC or just delete the search result and leave the document in its original file?
Hello
You delete the file. Try it yourself...
- For example, create a document with a unique name (say qwerty987.doc) word
- Search all files and folders to qwerty987
- Right-click on the file in the search results, and then click Open containing folder
- Research of two results of window and the window of the folder containing the visible file (resizing and movement to achieve, as appropriate)
- Remove the test file in the search results window and watch it disappear from the other window too

Cannot delete the file search results
I uninstalled a program but the files in the folder that has been deleted appear always in my indexed search results, I want to delete them, but it says the file "Does not exist" which is the reason why I want to remove in the first place... because it no longer exists, why have it appear in my results. These files will leave eventually or will they have a permanent dwelling home in my research indexed.
Hi Gamemaster406,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.
To resolve this problem, you will need to index your computer.
Click Start > type "index" > click on indexing on search results Options.
Then click on advanced > click on rebuild.

How can I stop Windows Vista Search Results including files that have already been deleted?
I use Windows Vista Home Premium Version 6.0. When I use the windows search feature (navigate from the 'new' start icon) search results include files that have been deleted. This is quite annoying because it dilutes the value of the search result.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I have seen similar posts but no real solutions... any help would be much appreciated! THX

After performing a search, the left pane of folders is positioned in the temporary folder to search down results. Is it possible to avoid this and let folders not affected?
No, unfortunately, it is the way it is prgrammed and it is hardcoded and there is no feature that I know to change (or doesn't in this case) the repositioning of the files Panel. It happens because it is positioned on the right this folder (as it should). It's a minor annoyance with the fact that will have to learn to live. The amazing part is no doubt believe that it was a good idea when it was developed - so although they don't even consider adding some configuration options (or maybe that's what happened when they tried and figured it was acceptable or even preferable and not worth any effort to change any other thing). Consider yourself lucky - in my case, there are a dozen foldersunder the folder temporary search results which are records of actual file and I can't understand how to remove them from the list without deleting the folders (or prevent them from continuing to add to the list because I'm not sure what I am doing happens - but I'll deal with it when I have the time to examine the problem).
I hope that this same help if this isn't the answer you wanted to hear. There are MANY variations of the search in Vista, but desired was not one of them, and I sincerely doubt that they will put any effort in changinng it. They aren't accepting bug or suggestion for Windows Vista reports more (I just checked) so we can't even report it.
Good luck!

I wonder if what's on my hard drive and if what Win Explorer is on my hard drive are two different things.
If I do a search in Win Explorer to "purple", I get a number of results.
(To search for a file, I am in the word "Purple" in the search field in the upper right Win Explorer and pressing the "Enter" button). There are a couple of JPG files that I wonder about the search results.
One example is called "purple_flowers.jpg".
When I double-click this file in the search results to open it, my paint program opens and gives me a message that the directory is not found. If I use MS Paint to try and open it by double-clicking on the file and selecting "open with...". MS Paint", I get a message that the directory is not valid. The location of the directory on the error message is the blue 'Images' folder for my user. But, when I opened this file, I don't have a file with that name in this directory. The same thing happens with another JPG file, called "octopus.jpg" when I search the word 'Octopus '.
Is this something messed up between what I have on my hard drive and think what Win Explorer is on my hard drive?
How can I fix?
Something must be reset in Win Explorer?I could have the JPG files with these names at the same time. I had a large library of images for a project, but I deleted it.
(I tried to turn on the option to show hidden files in this directory, but that did not help).Imane:
I thank very you much for that answer.
But it seems to have stumbled on the solution:Strangely, this worked:
(Maybe you know why).
I moved the files in my blue images folder in another folder, delete the folder images blue, emptied the Recycle Bin and rebooted my computer.
When my computer has finished its startup routines, my folder of photos blue was there! And he had the shortcut to the folder 'Sample Pictures' inside.
When I searched "the Octopus" and "purple", I no longer saw these JPG files in the search results.
I don't really know what happened, but I thought that after these results just in case someone else knows this.I'll read and watch in your information. I don't want to know more about what is happening in my computer.
