Save the password, selection guard reset to "remember passwords"
I use firefox sync between Windows and Mac. In both I not selected the "remember passwords for site" option. Today, every time I open FF this option has been changed so that FF prompts me to remember a password. I repeated the process several times, but the behavior continues.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

This can happen if you're in private browsing mode.
Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).
- Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".

I installed the latest version of Firefox on my laptop (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The thing is that firefox prompt to save passwords of websites. I'll explain you a little more away with an example: suppose I load www.gmail.com. When I login, the password manager key is displayed on the left side of the address bar, but the corresponding window which would ask if I want to save the password or not, does not appear. I tried all the possible solutions. It is true that when I restart firefox with disabled modules (safe mode), password manager works fine. But I don't really use Add-ons that could prevent firefox to save passwords. I disabled all add-ons and ran firefox in normal mode, but the password manager does not work yet. Please keep in mind that I tried everything and that any post not published so far describes a similar problem to mine case. Consider that I have the same I have configured the entire system from the beginning. The problem appeared again from the first time I launched firefox. At that time, I had not installed any antivirus software and there is no add-on with firefox. Hope someone can give me a valid solution...
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.
Rename signons3.txt and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.
You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.
If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.See:

How to save the password for a new ISP on my printer 5514?
I recently changed my ISP and need to make a change to my printer HP Photosmart 5514.
When I originally installed the printer on my laptop Windows 7, I've provided the network and password for the existing ISPS and they were saved during the installation process because I did not re - enter the password every time I turned on the printer to use.
With the change to a new ISP, I used the wizard wireless on the printer to select the new wireless network and enter the password. The printer worked fine, except that the network and the password was not justified. Whenever I turn the printer off and then turn it back on to for reuse, I re - select the network and enter the password again.
Y at - it of some sort that I can save the function/password without reinstalling the printer?
Looks like the printer is still trying to keep the old network information.
Try a Hard Reset:
* Unplug the printer while the power is on
Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the wall jack directly
* Wait 30 seconds
* Plug the unit back toNetwork information is reset by default:
* Press on key/Setup menu in the top right of the touch screen of the printer
* Select the wireless option
* Scroll to default networkAfter you restore the default settings, then try to run the Wireless Setup Wizard. Let me know if the unit still does not retain the information.

Save the password on the Client VPN with PIX
I'm running a PIX 515 6.1 (2) configured for a small number of VPN clients. I want VPN clients to automatically remember the password of login for users do not have to enter it each time (we have an application which periodically autoconnexions).
While it is a configurable option with concentrators 3000 series, it seems not be configurable with the PIX.
The only work around, I can find is to make the connection file (.pcf) read-only and set SaveUserPassword = 1. The problem
which is the password, and then must be stored in clear text in the file and it becomes inconvenient for the user to change their password.
Does anyone know if the command exists on the PIX from the VPN client to save the connection password?
Thank you
Misha
The command to do this is not currently available on the PIX. He has just been included in the IOS EZVPN server functionality, but have not heard of anything anyone yet as to if it will be included in the PIX.
If you want this feature, do not hesitate to contact your account manager and have them grow for him, the more customers requesting a new feature faster he gets.

VPS Config will not save the password
I am running 10.11.4 on what we'll call the Machine B and I'm trying to config a VPN which is supposed to connect to a Mac OS X Server running a VPN L2TP.
Another machine, we'll call the Machine A, connects to the VPN without problem. So, I know that the problem is NOT server-side.
So in sys prefs, you can access the network, and I have my VPN connection in there. Under authentication, I have two fields, one password and one for the shared secret.
On computer A, when I go to look at settings, these two are saved correctly. This is why Machine A connects to the VPN without problem.
On Machine B, I enter the password and the shared secret. I hit OK. If I click the authentication settings button once again, I see the points demonstrating the existence of a stored value of password and the shared secret. Then I click APPLY. Now if I click authentication settings, the password and the shared secret are empty!
This happens again and again. I can't understand why. No wonder my VPN will not connect if this f-in computer won't save the authentication settings.
Moreover, the VPN used to work perfectly without a problem. Then something happened - he asked me a password for my VPN unexpectedly. Never, since the VPN not working and I can't make it work because of this problem.
Hello
We discovered a machine here at our office today who had exactly the same problem. Your post was the only one I could find that describes our problem exactly.
Our machine is a Macbook Pro, El Cap 10.11.4
I found a solution that allowed me to recreate the VPN connection through the command line.
Once the VPN connection has been recreated the shared key has been registered successfully in its field in the connection settings.
This script https://github.com/halo/macosvpn saved the day.
We use Cisco IPSec that is described on how to enter in the CLI to the bottom of the page, but L2TP is mentioned above.
Good luck!

How to save the password to the Cisco VPN Client?
Hello
I use version 4.8 to connect to the VPN from my client, I would like to save my password so that I don't have to enter it each time.
I've amended the FCP file to include:
! SaveUserPassword = 1
and my password in UserPassword =, but it worked only once, after I restart it no longer works.
Then I see the method to use the command-line vpnclient.exe to connect and provide the password as a parameter to the command:
vpnclient connect
user pwd But I got this error when you try to connect:
Setting user password failed. User password is read-only.
And the client always requests the password.
Any ideas?
Thank you
The server sets the password save, you will not be able save locally unlessit is enabled on the server side. If the customer has an ASA, follows allows him under the group policy for VPN clients.
allow password-storage
