  Documents in your iCloud drive are not part of a backup to iCloud - iCloud: overview of backup and storage iCloud

  If you have an iTunes backup, then use instead. If you have another device connected to the same iCloud account and it has not been used recently, you can try to disable the wifi on it and then see if the copy local caching of the document pages is always on this device.   This is how it works if you have iCloud drive lit for than TextEdit. You can go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive - Options and remove the check mark in front of TextEdit it. After that open TextEdit will open directly to a new document.   With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

  Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

  If you open your old documents Pages ' 08 with 5 Pages it will convert and if not damage, remove a large number of useful features.

  You will probably regret upgrading to 5 Pages which Apple has made extremely inconsistent and keeps changing its file format.

  I'm looking for advice on how best to clean up the mess created by our continued use of our ancient .mac account.

  My wife and I have had an account .mac since 2005.  Our e-mail addresses are aliases that are associated with this account.  It's messy.

  My wife and I would like to have separate accounts .icloud but, if possible, do not want to give up e-mail addresses that we had for 11 years.  Is this possible?  We also want to make the transition without complicating our existing .mac account settings. For example, our children now have their own accounts of .icloud that are related to the original address of .mac as part of a family sharing.

  Using more an iDevice on the same computer

  This mainly applies to couples who add another device and don't want their electronic mail, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To start reading: How to use several iPhone, iPad or iPod devices with one computer. You must create a login separate Apple and password for anyone who will use the new iDevice.   On the computer, create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This is the user account always uses this person. He or she will no longer use the other user account.   I would like to use iCal to automate a task every night, I tried to do it via iCal. I want iCl to open a specific program to save my catalog of photography at a specific time (while I'm asleep), then close in the morbibg until I wake up. I used the custom alert to do, who works for a day or two, then iCloud removes the custom alert and all I'm left with is a reminder without action.

  Ideally, I would like to create a reminder that "on my mac" as I don't want this reminder popping up on my other Apple devices, because it is no longer relevant to my 27 iMac (my work computer).

  I tried to create a calendar that is only "on my mac" that I did it by disabling the iCloud, make a schedule, creating personalized with custom alarm, reminder and then turning power on. The only problem is iCloud absorbs only nine "on my mac" calendar and eventually turns off the custom alert, so I'm no further forward in doing so.

  Please can anyone help because it's so boring. Why did you take this Apple? Not everyone wants everything in the iCloud all the time!

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I know have a problem with the calendar on your Mac app, it's not what you expect. As I understand it, you can't make and keep a schedule "on my Mac", as when you activate the iCloud "on my Mac" gets merged with iCloud calendar and gets synchronized on your other devices. Personally, I've tested this and couldn't replicate, so here is what I suggest to identify and solve your problem:

  1. use Mode without fail to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, remove files from the system cache, check your startup disk and trying to fix problems if necessary directory. Test this problem by disabling your iCloud calendar and create the event and a timetable "on my Mac" then restart your Mac and reactivating the iCloud calendar.

  Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
  Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode

  2. If you are still experiencing a problem, you can know if unexpected behavior is related to the user file or a parameter in trying to reproduce the problem to another user account. This process includes creating a new user account, connect to it and test for the issue.
