Hello elizabethjohnsonXI,

Do you receive notifications by the system that your system is not authentic?

Go to the Microsoft Website Windows Genuine, and there fair questions that you can consult to determine if your system is genuine Windows software.

My hard drive crashed and I can't access anything anyone on this subject. I have a second hard drive that was used for additional storage only. I'm doing this second walk my master drive. After changing the cables, jumpers, the bios settings to show as the master I am using the Windows XP disk, I try to put in place. I get an error message that says: I need a full version disc windows genuine, not a disc to upgrade to. When I bought the computer it came with Windows ME preinstalled and there was no disk that came with the machine. When I went to XP apparently, I bought a version upgrade, not the full version. Is it possible to get a cd of microsoft, or download a file, which can help get this another hard drive mounting correctly?

  • Popup "Windows Activation Technologies", saying "this computer is not running genuine Windows". 0x8004fe22 validation error

I haave had this since 2008 HP Pavilion desktop computer.  It came with Win 7 Home installed, and Office Depot had upgraded to Win 7 Pro.  I ran it without any problem of validation for more than three years now.  Tuesday I'll be back for an appointment and the computer went to sleep.  When he woke up normally, I found a 'Windows Activation Technologies' popup saying "this computer is not running genuine Windows".  I tried the link "pay online now", but he ordered me to have to pay for a new facility.  I do not want to do because my Windows has already been purchased and is valid for more than three years.

Then run Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool and it came true.

I ran full virus and malware scan with Avast Pro and Malwarebytes Pro and a complete diagnosis with Advanced System Care Pro tools that have always kept this system clean and stable.  As expected, no malware, regular maintenance tasks only were delivered.  It's been several days since the last time that I made no change to the system (I upgraded a utility) and the system has been rebooted at least four times after that without problem.  The only other change was an update of Windows.  Interestingly, after that same Windows Update on my machine Vista, it refused to start (BSOD) and I had to go back to a two days old restore point - that fixed it.  I always had a mysterious problem with Win 7 Pro machine that it creates restore points, but I can never find, so I can't have this option on this computer.

I'm trying to start a new business and cannot afford to be without my computer, or do strange things, or buy a new copy of Windows and take the time to restore a careful configuration of three years.  I when I recently bought a new laptop from Office Depot, I also bought a Windows 7 Pro upgrade kit and installed myself.  When I did, I realized that the update CHANGES THE PRODUCT KEY and I knew not when they improved the office... they give me new product key for the Pro upgrade, so all I have is the original OEM key and apparently going to lose my Pro upgrade if I need to reimage from the disks in the system or the OEM partition.  This is not acceptable, either, and I have no idea how to go about face.  The transaction took place three years ago!

Please help; I'm already running on the razor's edge with the launch of this company.  This error is likely to destroy me financially.  I can't do what I need to do on the laptop - it is a low-cost, minimal machine and specifically, has no office and the ability to perform graphics... things cutting-edge software that I need to be able to do.

    Click Start

    in the search box, type

    System restore

    and press the Enter key

Once the system restore is displayed, click Next

Now put a check mark in the box "Show more restore points.

    What points appear now?

If there is a just before your problem, try this.

If this isn't the case - as I say, CANCEL any act performed by ASC and uninstall it.

Then run another MGADiag report and post it.

I have an original desc of "Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit the question is, can I upgrade to the version that is installed in my new laptop with the version that I already have?"

Yes, you can upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. You do not lose the pre-installed software & drivers, if you upgrade. If you perform a clean install of Ultimate, you will lose all the pre-installed software.

    Hello unclebean,.

When you try to download Adobe Reader?
You can download here without an administrator password.
    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/

The only problem that I can see if you are in a domain environment, the network administrator for your domain can have implemented policies
limit downloads to administrators only. If this is the case, you will need to contact your network administrator.

    I hope this helps.

My husband must have some kind of bug in his computer as Kaspersky Internet Security, when he went on the internet, gave him a choice to block something that was causing a problem.  When he clicked "Block" - he got the BLUE SCREEN!  Is anyway for him to cancel it and save all her pictures on his computer?

It has a Dell Dimension 8400 computer about six years.
    ----
Sorry to bother you, but this time we did shut down his computer and restarted everything was fine.  Apparently he had clicked on something like 'do not allow' or however its formulation that I do not see.  So now we have to probably save photos and things out of his computer and take out the drive to reinstall Windows XP because there still be some sort of bug in there because we are getting popups saying some program are eager to enter the passwords section.  I don't know much about it but try to fix it!

I looked into Kaspersky and ran a browser Configuration and analysis of the vulnerability in his computer and found that there was a kind of 'control popup' in Internet Explorer that had been added in the settings of the pop-up window. -I deleted who.

I saw a setting in Kaspersky has been changed by default (they say "changed by the user, but did not change). -I have put all Kaspersky setting at default.

So now, we hope the computer that my husband will work very well in the future because it's good now, even after rebooting.

Now, we will have VERY serious about all of his photos on his backup external hard drive!

If we have more problems with that, I'll be back but for now, everything is GOOD!

  • Windows Vista 64 bit not Shutting Down

I have Windows Vista 64-bit and after a few recent updates it will not shut correctly. The screen saying shutting down just y rest turns and it never stops. I have to use the power button then go through "Windows is not stopped correctly." Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to fix it?

Well at least you know it's updates.
But now that you have restored on before the updated Automatic updates of Windows will try to re - install the updates again on the next update of the cycle. This can cause the issue to recur.

To work around this problem and continue troubleshooting follow these steps:

    (1) to prevent the restart that follows the Blue Screen Of Death, go to the control panel. Select system, select the System Protection, select the Advanced setting. In the startup and recovery section, click the settings button. In the dialogue box uncheck 'automatically restart '.

This way if the BSOD appears it will remain on the screen until you restart manually (with the power switch) so you can copy all the info.

    2) go to the control panel and select Windows updates, then settings. In the settings dialog box, select "download updates but let me choose whether to install them. When you click OK and return to the precedding box select "Check for updates".

    (3) then make a list of the updates download. Download the General description and the number of K.
You will be able to select the ones you want to install. Select one and install it. It is necessary to restart even if it doesn't tell you the restart.

    (4) see if afier you is installed the problem returns. If this is not the case back to the updates, and install the following and so on.

    (5) when get you to one that is causing the BSOD a brand notes of everything about the BSOD and updated at the source of the problem and to publish them.

This is enough to understand the nature of the conflict with the update and fix it.

If this can be done at least you know what update is the problem, it can be uninstalled in most cases without reverting to a restore point. It can also be marked as 'Hidden', then in the future Windows Update will not download again it and raise the problem of repeat.

    Continuation through the fog

  • Windows 7 will not shut down or restart my computer. I tried all of the suggestions I've seen previously displayed.

My computer shuts down fine with Vista (64-bit), but not with Windows 7 (Home Ultimate, 64-bit).  It disconnects me and shows the "Stop" screen, access the drive hard as if he does something, but never closes my computer (or monitor) off the coast.  It's the same thing when I'm saying Windows restart my computer.  I always hold the power button to turn off.  Occasionally, the next time I start up, I get a message saying that the computer has been shut down unexpectly, but usually not.  Although I don't think that this issue is damaging physically my computer, it is still an annoying problem.

    So far I have tried:

-Modification of the settings in my BIOS ACPI.  I don't have the ability to toggle ACPI, only to change between 1 & 3.  I tried them both.

-Method of "Clean boot" Troubleshooting Microsoft.  Even with all non-essential services and startup items disabled, I always have this problem.

-Disable Windows Fax.  Only one had this problem, and so I thought I would give it a shot.  Not good.

-Another forum suggested turning off the M-Audio card.  Tasted it.

-Yet another forum suggested changing "power settings" in the device to the IEEE Bus controller Manager 1394, allowing the computer stop the computer, or something in this sense.  I see no option anywhere to change the power settings.

Suggestions of new, I can add to the list?

After reading a lot on the forums and tried almost everything, patches, disabeling energy efficient features on IEEE 1394 and usb. He hit me, everything indicates that the acpi on the motherboard and the table mps. Changing from 1.4 to 1.1 in the bios MPS table solves the problem and win 7 shutsdown correctly

  • Windows 7 will not shut down or restart

Hi guys, basically for the 3 days since my computer won't shut down or restart. I normally turn off every night and I've never had this problem before. I used the tool to update window update, but it says that it cannot complete the installation until I restart, but obviously I can't do that either.

I tried to change the power does-that is to say buttons when the laptop closed = stop down. But even that won't work.

Anyone has any ideas that could help me solve this problem?

    Thank you.

Not sure, but what about the command 'shutdown '? (perhaps with the /r (reboot) option)
