  I assume you actually mean that you have a printer HP Photosmart 8250?

  This printer is essentially - not * really * supported by HP to the title of the edition of Windows that you are using.  That's about what I believe it means when you choose the operating system on the Web of HPs site for your printer and you get the, "installation of the product with the USB cable and using the driver located in the Windows operating system _»<-- they="" gave="" some="" generic="" universal="" driver="" to="" microsoft="" for="" distribution="" and="" you="" might="" get="" it="" working,="" but="" it="" may="" not="" have="" all="" the="" features="" you="" used="" to="" have="" in="" an="" other="">

  One thing probably listed in these forums is to replace the printer inherited by a support by the manufacturer of equipment under an operating system, that you have chosen to run... That failed?  * smile *.

  Honestly - reviews and other for this printer back in 2004 I can say - it means that this printer is old enough (although more recent you).  I'm shocked they kept alive that long, really.  Looking at the Vista drivers and others, later are of March 2007, over 5 years.

  I think you you would save a lot of time and invest in a newer printer that is designed to work with modern operating systems, :-) grief

  What version of Windows 7 do you have? It is 32-bit or 64-bit?

  Have you tried HP support? According to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=214599&prodTypeId=15179&objectID=c01909569 here, there is limited support for the 8250 under Win7, which is their way of saying, it may or may not work.

  You can get the driver from here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=214604&lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15179&prodSeriesId=214599&taskId=135 . Simply choose your version of Win7.

  Many HP products are very picky with their installation procedures. I found that the instructions must be followed strictly in the order as listed, or there may be a problem. If the software has already been installed, it is sometimes best to uninstall it, and then try again. Unfortunately, since most of the documents, it seems the 8200 series was designed more for Mac and Windows.

  I understand that you are no longer able to print with the P1006 on Win8.1.

  Did you first uninstall the P1006?

  If not uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.

  The two drivers are the same, if you look at the version on the Web site and should continue to work with the Win8.1.

  It won't be Windows 8 drivers for this printer. You can try this, it may or may not work.

  First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.

  Unplug the printer.

  Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

  Restart your computer. Make sure that the printer is deleted. Deleting Manual printer driver

  Download the 32-bit drivers for Windows 8 32 bit Vista or 64-bit drivers for 64 bit Vista Windows 8. Install the Vista drivers in Vista compatibility mode, you will get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at the moment (power on).

• Network printer won't work with Windows 7

  I upgraded Vista to Windows 7 laptop, three days ago. Previously, running Vista, I printed on my LAN (based on a Netgear DG834G v.2) on an OKI C5250n printer. But I can't make my computer Windows 7 see the printer. An another XP computer prints normally.
  The Working Group is called MSHOME and my new Windows 7 is apparently set to share on the same workgroup.
  If I try to 'add printer' I get a warning that I can't do "due to restrictions on this computer" and I need to see my system administrator - that is me and I don't have what it can refer to!

  I succeeded in printing by connecting directly via the USB port, but has not recently by a spoolsv.exe problem (which I asked a separate question).

  Please can you suggest my next steps.

  The printer is configured to use the same port it was Vista, namely the TCP/IP port.

  You are prompted to do so by your indication of a faulty print driver, I have installed the latest on the OKI web site but the printer fails to operate on the network. Next step is OKI technical services I guess.

  As the game is pretty old, I doubt this will help. Its possible and is worth a try, but it's usually a "fix" to the problems with nine just released games.

  I wasn't able to find a listing for this game on the Windows 7 Compatibility Center.  There was no indication that the game would work with Windows 7?  You can uninstall the game and then when you go to install, click with the right button on the configuration file and run it in compatibility mode.  Also check with the manufacturer of game, because they have a patch so that it will run on Windows 7.

  I read a lot of posts on the EOS Utility. Obviously there is a problem with this work with Windows 7. Many many people have the same problem. It worked fine with Windows XP.

  Canon, please take note and please fix this problem.

  I read the posts and tried ALL the patches. None have worked so far.

  So what is my problem.

  I connect my 7 d to my PC and open the EOS Utility. It starts to download my images then WIndows 7 download utility opens as well. I select 'Start downloading images' in the u of EOS. The EOS Utility and then disconnects / fails.

  I downloaded and installed the latest drivers, software etc.

  There is there a problem with the software of Canon, but unfortunately I don't see Canon not do anything to fix it.
