• PSE 7.0 without charge on a Mac G5

  Friends finally harassed me too so I bought a Power Mac G5. Used and works well, I guess. Had the name and the password reset to the apple store.

  Loaded PSE 2.0, but he did not like the MAc so abandoned. It is perhaps a thing of 32 bit vs 64 bit.

  It has never been PSE 7 for mac. You try to install a windows program.

  Either way, even if there was, after 2 PES, PES came not with a drive cross-platform for all versions, except if you shipped it with material, like a scanner. PES 9 is the first time since the PSE 2, you can use the same serial number on both platforms.

  EDIT PES 6 is the latest version, that you can use on your G5.

• Using the scanner rather than generic software WIA support PES 9

  Updated PES 9 a couple of weeks. Already got PSE6.  With PSE6, with my Canon LiDE90 scanner, when I chose import on the file menu and import selected from a scanner, I gives me the option to use the WIA interface or software compatible WIA Canon Scan Gear which has more controls. With PSE9, the only option when I select the LiDE90 is to use the generic Windows WIA driver.

  I can, of course, to use the Canon scanner software apart from PSE9 and send the file to PSE9 for editing. That works very well, but what I don't like about the digitization of this way, is that a temporary file should be created by the scanner software which is saved immediately and then load that into PSE9.

  With PSE6 when to use Scan Canon material in PSE6, the scanned image has been loaded in PSE 6 as a new image without title. If I chose to delete the scanned image, that I edited rather than save the file, there is no temporary file has been saved on the disk at all. I much prefer this work sequence.

• Cannot install PES 9 from a USB key.

  Salvation; I have a CD of PES 9 included with my new Epson scanner. But my Win 7 Ultrabook doesn't have a CD player. So I copied the disc to a USB and tried to do the installation. It installs PSE then Organizer, but when he tries to load 'Shared technology' it returns in "installation of the Rolling-back." This removes everything (including desktop icon that appears briefly). I disabled the antivirus and even OK'ed Adobe sharing but no luck. Any thoughts? Thank you.

• PSE10 - Possible to crop multiple images from a scanner?

  I take the task of digitization of hundreds of old photos.  Currently, using my flat bed scanner, browse 4 photos at once.  Then, I use editor PSE10 digitized 'Divide the Photo' tool to divide the images in 4 different files.  However, sometimes, this tool does not correctly recognize all 4 pictures and I have to crop manually.  This can be tedious to harvest, saving reopen the old file, crop,... and this 4 times.  Is there a way to select multiple images of the harvest of a file and export each into a new file?

  I hear by scanning of a group, the Group of images that you have scanned before using divide scanned Photos to separate into individual images. But DSP is the only group of command available to post-secondary studies. You can check your scanner driver.   I just belatedly upgraded to Snow Leopard... and got my PES 6 to run without freezing using a suggestion posted by Barbara B. ('Photoshop Elements for Snow Leopard') - removal of the Twain Adobe driver.  My Canon Lide 80 scanner always worked smoothly in PES 6 in Snow Leopard, but PSE 6 broke before removing Adobe plug-ins, Twain.  Given that I had not updated PES for a while, I decided to download the trial of 10 PSE and put it to the test before I bought.

However, if you need rosetta to scan, you will be able to scan in EPS, 8, 9 or 10, no matter that Rosetta is installed on your mac or not. There is no longer any support of Rosetta in PSE for PSE 8 is released. In this case, you can use Scan Gear or get a newer scanner, if there is no plugin intel native on the download page of canon for your model.

  Epson scanners rely on adobe TWAIN driver, which is not installed by default in PSE 9. Go to Applications > Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 > optional Plug-Ins > ImportModules, and move TWAIN.plugin there Applications > Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 > Plug-Ins > ImportModules.

  If your scanner has a ppc plug-in, it will not work in PSE 8. Since there is no option to run PSE 8 under rosetta, it takes a processor intel plugin. It is the first thing to check.
