flat HP 3970 scanner: editing scanned document

I need to know how to edit with WORD a document scanned flat hp 3970.  I'm on Windows 10.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

JoeBuzu

P.S. preferably, step by step instructions please.

Hi JoeBusu,

The scanner is not compatible with Windows 10, so any soolution OCR or any option analysis is available for your operating system:

http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=298547 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-c04635838

Try the 3rd party software VueScan which seems to support your scanner:

http://www.Hamrick.com/VueScan/hp_scanjet_3970.html

You can then follow these PES to parse text OCR using VeuScan:

https://www.Hamrick.com/support/how-to-guides/how-to-scan-OCR-text-files.html

Hope that helps,

Shlomi

I have a printer of HP Photosmart Plus b209a-m.  How I edited the documents I'm scanning when the 3 output options are to create PDF or Tiff files?

The button "scan" on the window of HP solutions says that you can "analyze and edit text with or without graph documents." Also, this website solutions indicates that I can edit documents that I scan.  But the 3 output to 'scan' options to create a PDF file, to send a PDF file or to create a Tiff file. I think that all of these types of files are not editable. I was not able to find an option to create text or Word files.

Software that comes with the printer HP Photosmart Plus B209a there OCR package in it. However, we can always install it by simply following procedure below:

    (1) perform a disk cleanup. (Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup)

    (2) open the link below and save it on desktop OCR software

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/Printers/ocragent/hpcom_OCR_140_003.exe

    (3) run the file after the download is complete.

    (4) if the error is displayed to indicate "this update does not support all of the HP device... ", do not close the message. It is very important.

    (5) open file folder

    (6) file open 7z

    (7) find the folder "ocr_web_pack".  Copy this folder on the desktop.

    8) click OK in the error message

    (9) open the "ocr_web_pack" file that is copied on the desktop and double-click "SETUP. "EXE" file

    Hi KathleenMillard,

    ·         Are you referring to Adobe Reader?

You will need to use Adobe Acrobat Pro to edit the scanned PDF file. You can also search any other software of third parties on the internet.

You can maybe try the HP scan & capture software, or capture him windows embeded 10 image.

Try windows Fax and scan or microsoft paint, sp that you save the files and then print.

  • How can I get my scanner to scan the original documents identical?

    Hello

I just install the printer/scanner (series HP photosmart premium C310 / CN503-64001). I did 2 tests. On the 2nd scan the sides intersect.  I repeated the analysis a few times, but the problem remains. On the touch screen, it shows the document correctly. I had the scan open preview (I use a Macbook Pro, Mac Os version 10.6.8).

How can I get my scanner to scan the same original documents?

    Thank you for helping me!

    Birgit

    Hello, Birgit

How the printer is connected to the computer? You mention the touch screen are you scan from the front of the printer? What happens if you try to scan from the HP software?

In Mac OS X scan with the HP software

Also could you check which printer you are using? Photosmart C310 is the series and I couldn't find a printer with the CN503 64001. Usually, the model number on Photosmarts are located under the lid of the printer where the ink cartridges are. Help, find the follow-up model number below.

How can I find my model number?

  • How can I edit a scanned document using word processing software

The printer is a Deskjet 3052 a, OS = Vista,

I would like to know how to edit a scanned document using a word processor (ms Word).  Or do I need OCR software that came with the printer.

    Hello

You use an OCR module, it is not included with the printer software.

Personally, I know that Read IRIS offer good performance, you can check the web for any other.

  • Why my C4780 scanner started scanning colored on the top of each document long lines?

I have cleaned the ink cartridges; installed new cartridges; realigned; restarted; Downloaded the new driver; driver and firmware update; Finally, ask for help.  When scanning (not not when printing) it scans documents, and when you view the scan on the computer screen, it long has color lines placed on the original document, regardless of whether the original doc was a photo or an impression, either black and white or in color.  Is this something that can be adjusted?  Thank you!

I think that your scanner is dead.  Make a copy of the front of the printer.  If the copy has these lines, the scanner is probably dead.

You can try to reset the printer by turning it off, unplug the power supply from the back of the printer for one minute, then plug back in and turn on.

  • How can I turn off automatic OCR during editing of scanned documents?

When I use the Edit function, normally I just rearrange a few images in a scanned pdf document.  Unfortunately, clicking on the "Edit" button automatically performs OCR, which sometimes causes problems.  For example, when I'm working with is a scan of a document written by hand, the causes of OCR errors in the police, so in this case I don't want rock.

We have already OCR a document to the will in several menus, for example to improve scans or optimize PDF, so I do not understand the need for automatic OCR forced when you change the file.  Developers must understand that OCR is not something, we always need or want.

In the settings menu to change of scanned Document, there is an option to disable "make all editable pages', in which case only the current page is OCR' ed.  There is, however, no option to completely disable OCR, which makes no sense.

You must use one of the graphical tools to conceal what you don't want. You must then use the redax tool to remove hidden - or at least that's my understanding of what you would do.

In fact, you would use the tool 'mark for the redaction' to highlight text or draw rectangles around the areas you want to write. You then click on 'apply the redaction. You can then greeted by a dialog box asking if you want to get rid of some back end information related to what you been expunged (as metadata, attachments, bookmarks, etc).

It is very complete if you want to probably run ion one copy of a file until you get the hang of it.
