Scanning an image

I am very new to have a scanner (HP 6500 has more) and I'm not real computer smart, although I am learning! I try to scan a lot of old photos in my computer and cannot find a way to not make the image appear with all the excess surface scans around her. I'm sure it's just a matter of fitness to zero something, but as I said, I am a novice. Can someone help me? Thank you very much...

Welcome to the forums! What operating system you use, and you use a specific application to scan? The feature you're talking about is usually called "Auto cropping." If you use the HP Windows utility there should be an option in the advanced scanning settings. It can be referred to as "scan single image to file."

If you give me a little more information I can provide you with more specific guidance.

Thank you!

  • No list of LCD on all-in-one printer, HP Photosmart C5280 to scan an image in my computer.

When I turn on printer to scan an image to the computer there is no list of LCD.  The only way I get the list is if I turned off the printer and the computer.  Then reboot again.  How can I get the list of the rear LCD screen on the printer.  The operating system is Windows XP Professional.  I have not installed new software or new hardware.

Sorry for the confusion. Power cycle is turning just off, wait 30 seconds and turn it on. Not uplugging, this is considered a hard reset. Just off tension.

  • Photo Gallery/Windows Vista to scan an image on my Canon printer/scanner and it produces only a small part of the original.

original title: Trouble scanning an image.

I use Vista/Windows Photo Gallery to scan a picture on my Canon printer/scanner and it produces only a small part of the original. What should I do to make it load to 100% of the original?

Sometimes, there is not enough contrast of a photo
and a scanner may have problems with the edge detection.

On the preview screen, you should be able to see the
part of the picture will be scanned.

  • How to stop Windows 7 opening 'imported photos and videos' after each scan an image?

I'm scanning multiple images and after EACH scan, Win7 opens a new window "Imported pictures and videos", despite the window being open 20 times already...

In the import dialog box, deselection 'Open Windows Explorer after import' has no effect.  After each import, a Windows Explorer window appears showing me that the directory of the file has been imported to (i.e. "imported photos and videos").  Worse still, this happens even if another this window is already open - so if (for example), I scan 10 pictures, I have 10 windows explore open all showing this same directory (unless I close them I will).

It's boring, clutters the taskbar and takes expire have to close each window - how are we going to stop Win 7 "Imported photos and videos" opening after each scan?

    Hello Carl,

You attempted to change the option to "Open the Windows Explorer after import" while connected as another user on the computer to see if the problem persists?
Also, have you tried to scan using a different computer to see if we can isolate the problem to a machine?
If you have checked these things and the behavior has not changed, I suggest to leave feedback for the Windows team at this link as an option behaves as expected:

Is it possible to be done through Oracle distributed Document capture (ODDC) and if it is possible how to connect ODDC with the client browser. Please suggest

Ok. So, the answer is certainly: Yes, it is possible.

The part of analysis, this is exactly what ODDC is good for. Unless you have the license already, however, you may have to go with the product to Capture Oracle WebCenter (large companies), which provides the necessary also.

Regarding the validation and storage, ODDC/ODC/WebCenter Capture can commit images scanned at several depots, including University Complutense of MADRID (URM can be considered a Complutense University of MADRID with a specific purpose / several modules or components under voltage and configured). So, technically, he has no problem.

When I have little doubt, however, is the meaning of the scenario - declaring an item as a record is an important event in the life cycle of the document - a record is often (or always) cannot be changed to ensure the integrity and non-repudiation of information. In this perspective, a direct validation of a recording of a scanning system (where errors such as bad scans, lack of pages, etc can be expected, particularly if the scanning is performed by the end user in a distributed fashion - so, not very experienced) seems a little dangerous.

  • working with the scanned tiff image

With the help of PS CS6 on iMac (24 inch, early 2008) 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, iMac, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS 512 MB: when you try to open a scanned tiff image, it opens sometimes directly in PS, sometimes open in Camera Raw. All works well when CR opens, but that happens only occasionally. When you open directly in PS, everything works fine for one or two images, then the following images opens not entirely - perhaps visible to 75%, the rest blank of canvas. Whenever I left the PS it can work a couple of times, and then to cut the image again. What the Hay? Is there a way to open Camera Raw directly?

«You can select the file in the open dialog box and set "Format" "to Camera Raw".»

Installed the downloaded software v.14 HP and the drivers and the printer c309a together save.

Tried to scan several photos off the Board and save as .tif files, but only the first image has been saved in the destination directory.

Changed the recorded in .jpg format and pictures appeared in the destination directory. Go figure?

Solution Center apparently dislikes the .tif files.

Scan from in the editor, rather than the organiser. Then, after scanning multiple photos, select Image > divide scanned Photos.

    See you soon,.

  • Scanned and image pdf Brown and white: unreadable (Acro 8 Pro)

I use Windows XP and Adobe Acrobat 8 professional.  Recently, every time I opened a pdf file that is scanned, or is an image converted, all I get is a white brunette page.  I can't view or edit them at all.  This happened a few months now.  I have no problem with pdf files that are not converted from image formats. I've included a CAP, punctured the issue.

Works fine for me, even to AA5. You must go to the properties (under the Edit menu) and enable the large graphic display.
