  I've had this printer for a couple of years (at least!) and never had need to scan color negs photo. Now I'm back into photography and am interested in scanning and printing my own negatives.

  This machine (the C6250) can do that? If not, can anyone recommend a printer/scanner/copier that has this capability?

  Scan of photo color works OK but attempt to analysis of a document (such as a document) color translate into a B & W output. If I try to scan the document as a picture, I get 6 separate images with an element of the document. Not quite what I want!

  The workflow default scanning set up to scan documents in black and white. Be sure to change the settings for scanning to scan color documents:

  1 open the HP utility and select your device.
  2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
  3. click on the tab scan tasks.
  4. Select the affected shortcut and click on change... (or double-click on the shortcut).
  5. in the section of scanning from an HP device, click the blue triangle or button view details to expand the menu.
  6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop-down next to the Mode
  7. now select the color option, and then click OK to save the changes. The next scanned using this workflow is displayed in color.

• How can I scan in 256 colors?

  I've updated from CS3 to CS5 and must be able to import using TWAIN so that I can scan in 256 colors as I used to with the CS3 version. I can't convert to 256 colors afterwards that the quality is too bad. I use Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to install the TWAIN plugin in the plugins/Adobe/import folder, but it doesn't appears not in options import after the restart of Psalm I wouldn't mind demotion to the PS3, if I have to. Can you help me please? Thank you.

  You should have both versions 32 and 64 bit installed by default. I have run Windows x 64 and got 32 and 64 bit versions of cs6. The 32-bit version must be in the folder C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\.  x 86 refers to the old 32-bit programs.

  If this is not the case, do a reinstall and make sure 32 and 64 are checked.

  If you want that your CS3 program, it is still there unless you have uninstalled it.

• Coloring slider labels

  Can I change the colors of the labels on a slider programmatically?  So far, I tried this:

  The labels in the listbox control is not replaced, but they are not colored. The labels in the slider is not replaced, but the escape sequence are included in the text of the label (and they are not colored).

  use escape codes for the listbox controls, you must set them before the text you want to assign. In addition, you must pass to the escape the real value of the color that you want to set (i.e. 0 x 990000), not its representation of string ("990000") as you do now. This code works colors assigned to the item in the listbox control:

  Unfortunately this is not possible on the rings of cursor (InsertListItems documentation mentions only listboxes when examining the color escape codes).

  Assuminug you have a Mac and you scan the front of the printer, the default scanning workflows configured to scan black and white documents. Be sure to change the settings for scanning to scan color documents:

  1 open the HP utility and select your device.

• I have a MP495 all-in-one. I can't choose black &amp; white scanning. Only color or grayscale.

  This problem is specific to Windows Fax and Scan.

  When you scan a document, the only options I give myself is to color or grayscale.

  None capture a clear image of the document as clean B & W.  I am of course I scan B & W document.

  Running windows 7 Home Premium on a computer Acer Aspire V3 - 551.

  To scan black and white, please use Scangear Advanced Mode.

  To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. click on start, select (all) programs, Canon Utilities, MP Navigator EX, then MP Navigator EX to open this program.

  2. tap on Scan/import, and then click the pictures/Documents (Platinum).

  3 place the document on the set, and then select the Type of Document.

  4. check in "the use of the scanner driver".

  5. click on the button Driver Scanner Open.

  6. click the Advanced Mode button.

  7. in the input parameters section, change the color to black and white Mode.

  8. click on the green button.

• Scanning for HP Color LaserJet M476nw MFP

  I just installed the software for the MFP476nw. When I scan a page 8.5 by 11, it scans it on a larger size which must be grown before the Save as pdf. This creates a lot of work for a large document when you need to crop each page before saving. What is the best way to scan the page 8.5 by 11 to the same size of paper to PDF using the MFP475nw?

  Of course, on Mac, you can use the HP scanning software, located under Applications > Hewlett-Packard.

  Once by clicking new scan you need to click on the button to view the details and change the scan to letter size.

  Altervative another is to scan using the tools of OS like Apple Preview, Capture of Image or screen breeders & Scanners.

  Remember undeck the option custom size in the scan settings, and then select the LETTER size.

  It seems that the problem is caused by a corrupted folder called en_US or similar (according to language) in the folder Adobe Illustrator 18 parameters, see post by Jules #7 in this thread.

  As a temporary roundabout means, you can select the lower rectangle to the right of the Rainbow and DoubleClick to change the rectangle at the top of the page and values: the lower color is the right one.

  As you already ready animation on board animate, I suggest you post this animation as a file OAM on the edge.

  Once you place the OAM Muse file, it will give the same animation.

• My Photosmart 3210: when scanning slides 35 mm, the scan results in a single image

  This is my 1st attempt to digitize old 35mm color slides. At the first trial, the scanner produces four good images. On the next sweep attempts, it produces only a single image containing four slides and a message in the printer says "no scan options".

  I tried your troubleshooting ideas: unpluggng the printer, uninstall/reinstall the software HP & pilot.

  All other functions of the word OK printer. Any ideas?

  Thank you, Sean.   Scanning is now the induvidual pictures production. But I had todo several other procedures.

  I have reset the printer according to your instructions, but it had the same negative results.

  I then unplugged the power from the printer and the signal cables, and then reconnected them and restarted the printer. I then reset the printer by you instructions.  I restarted my iMac's "HP Scan", selected slides in the HP scan profiles and pressed 'Scan '.  The result was four individual images.

• 35mm negative scanning?

  Hello.  I recently bought a Canon Printer/Scanner opportunity hoping to digitize my 35mm negatives and work with them in Lightroom.  I imported after scanning at 300 dpi (high resolution that I can scan with), but the files are too small in LR.  I am unable to get them to a regular size photo.

  In addition, the scanned negatives are a bit dark.  Also, should I put a white screen on top of the negative during the scan?  I'll do some research in the meantime.  THX.

  Yes, it's good enough for the digitization of printed things. But as you noted, scanning of negatives does not produce an image large enough to do much with. The DPI setting really has nothing to do with the quality as much as it affects the size of the final image. If you can find a way to scan your negatives 2400 dpi, you will find that your images will be quite large so that you can work with them. The image itself will not be 300 dpi. The image will simply be the pixel dimensions. And the definition of the DPI is what affects the size of the image will be in pixels.

  After looking at the description for your printer/scanner, I don't think he has the ability to scan negatives. I now understand what you thought putting a sheet of paper on the negative. But that's not really going to help. If you want to scan negatives and slides, you need to do a scanner that is designed to do. This normally involves having things built into the lid of the scanner. I could be wrong, but I do not.

  I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you want to scan negatives and possibly slide, it would be necessary for you to have a scanner that has the built-in capability. A typical scanner you have does not have this capability.

  They can scan and copy in black and color only. There is no option to gray scale.
