Screen - safe sharing?

I recently that someone from apple support share my screen to help solve the problem. Since I was really worried that they can now control my Mac when I'm online or at least that they can see when I type in the coordinates banking or similar. Is there a risk or will I be paranoid?

It's just scary how I was asked to click on something, then the next minute, they were in my Mac!

What I have to install whatever it is, they put on my Mac? If yes where can I find?

It was a genuine apple support representative.

Many thanks in advance,

How do you know it was a true representative of Apple? How to contact you?

Our online courses / school to connect graphic design use Adobe everything connection wise is green. When showing screen and trying to learn adobe photoshop or illustrator. everything is shifted or delayed. Do not see what selections are etc... What's the deal?

Screen sharing can be the greatest demand for bandwidth. Most screen sharing applications have a delay, but you can get it down to almost nothing. The biggest thing you can do to help is to reduce the resolution of your screen. Sharing a 1920 X 1080 image (or more) is a huge image to share, especially when it is constantly evolving. In addition, an image that large is undergoing a shoddy hit when recorded in the sharing on the screens of the participants module. Try sharing the screen with 1280 X 960 and see how it changes your experience, both in the latency reduction and quality improvement.

Think of it this way. A picture of 1920 X 1080 has 2 073 and 600 pixels of information it has to go for everything everyone in the room. An image of 1280 X 960 a 1 228 and 800 pixels. Which generates a little more than a 40 percent reduction in the information which must be transmitted to all the world in the room. With a bit of testing, you can find a screen resolution that will give you the quality you want with little or no delay in the dissemination of the screen. \

You can also reduce the quality of the part of the screen, with Photoshop and Illustrator of teaching may not be worth going to the meeting > preferences > screen share. There are four options of varying quality, test them to see which option best optimizes the quality and bandwidth demand.

If you are still curious about what bandwidth you use, you can click on the Green connection indicator and it will give you your latency and upward and down bandwidth requirements.

  • Satellite L500-128 - screen safe mode message

    Hello

I upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 with the Toshiba DVD and everythinks works well, but since I did it, a message in the lower corner of the screen is always displayed 'safe mode' and I move forward without knowing why.

    Any idea? Thank you.

    Hello

You start the laptop in safe mode?

Normally this message appears only if you start the computer in safe mode if you go into the advanced boot menu and select the safe mode startup option.

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say at the moment. In the worst case, you have to reinstall Windows again, I think that :(

  • Screen messages sharing: use a helmet causes a loss of voice.

Hello I have used successfully for several years of screen sharing.  Recently, any time I use headphones when using my audio screen sharing past not by the person I'm screen sharing with.   No problem if I don't use the helmet.   At first I thought that my helmet was bad, so I got a replacement of the typical Apple headphones that come with the iPhone.   Audio microphone and voice work fine with iPhone so no problem there.  Very strange.  Anyone having this same problem?

    Hello

Do you want to say helmet ordinary (without microphone) or you are talking about headphones?

Also, what is defined in system preferences > output when you make this change?

This corresponds to the message parameter > preferences > Audio/video section and the choice of output?

    In General, it must "match".

I've updated my laptop with a windows update and when I went to restart, it crashes just in the start screen.  I tried in safe mode hanging at MUP. I noticed that there is a thread here where a person has had the same problem and he said that it has updated its BIOS.  For hours, now I did research on how update my BIOS by creating a bootable disc...  I'm thumbs on a mile it looks. I could use any help we can on it.  It would be deeply appreciated!  My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Well I tried to Win 7 on a bootable disc.  I followed a bunch of instructions I found on youtube.com, but for some reason that I could not burn to disc.  Kept getting an error even if I followed every perfect step.

In any case, I watched my CMOS on compensation, but the battery is soldered on.  I just messed with it a little bit to see if it was lost or anything thing but I didn't rip out and one other solder on because I have never done this before.  So I put everything back together, turned on my laptop and it finally starts up the Windows installation screen.  FINALLY!  Thanks for everyone's help and patience.  I guess the battery has lost... but not quite sure.  I left the laptop off for about 4-5 days before I tried to play with the CMOS this morning.

Daavee, thanks for your help on this.  I learned all troubleshooting and making the ISO.  Have a good Christmas!

  • Black screen safe mode works fine

    Hi all

I had trouble with my Toshiba Satellite L305D for a few days now.  Services began randomly closing for example, processes Search host index.  So today I had to restart from the beginning, everything closes 1 by 1.  Now, when I start in normal mode, I get the black screen.  All right is safe mode.  I did a scan of the prompt on the review from a user on another thread, but have no idea how read the results, which contained several questions that cannot be repaired.  I have included 2 article with the expressions "cannot fix.  I would appreciate help from someone who knows how to analyze this mess.  If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open.  I can't afford to service so I have to find a way to solve this problem on my own.  Thank you!!

    Hello

These are mistakes in the sidebar - settings.ini and are not the cause of the black screen problem.

As this article States the question may be totally ignored.

The SFC.exe command reports Settings.ini file errors in the CBS.log file after you add gadgets to the
Windows Vista Sidebar by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947595

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These errors only are in the settings.ini for the sidebar and are not a serious problem by all means.

    Close the sidebar for that.

Is there the thing for the settings.ini - run AutoRuns and look at the SideBar Gadget entries - all
This point is no longer existing files such as temp or uninstalled gadgets or not running? Generally
those who have "Yellow icons" on the left side and the files/folders will not exist. If so right click on them
and delete - restart. This may correct the errors that you see.

Autoruns - free - see what programs are configured to start automatically when you start your system
and you log in. Autoruns also shows you the full list of registry and file locations where applications can
    Configure auto-start settings.
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
    -------------------------------

Another process to try is to remove everything except a gadget - everything what you think is the most simple, that you use.
Maybe the calendar. Then RESTART - use another simple gadget, and delete the first class used
-RESTART again. See if that helps.

Rarely, the error causing the problem with the sidebar and not not affect the system in general.

the Sidebar of Windows Vista by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.

    -------------------------------

Another method to try with the SideBar does not is to copy the Settings.ini to another folder, then
Delete it - and then start sidebar.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Start in safe mode and check if you see the sound icon on the screen safe mode startup.

Boot safe mode in Windows Vista:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if that helps.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista:

Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.

If the method above is not enough, then please reply to us with the screenshot of the office, so that we can help solve you this problem.

Try this link for the capture of the screen:

  • selection of the right Startup Repair boots me back to the screen to select reboot

recently installed new graphics - no problem.

has had to unplug my dvd player because the sata power cable is not reached. I bought a 4 pin sata converter plug in.

Since then, I could not get into windows.

But first, the computer would send signals to my monitor, no matter what I plugged. I have corrected it to mount tension on my diet, turn it off and set the voltage to normal... (no idea how it's fixed).

I can get the boot screen/bios work, but then I get to the "was turned off during startup.

start the system restart or start windows normally. If I get the startup repair it turns black for a second, and then I'm right back where I started at the same screen. If I choose start windows normally the loading bar appears and then the screen goes black.

the first time I got it to start it says something about something not and he comes back at slow speed of DRAM. Not entirely positive, but something in this direction. I googled those terms out of memory and found it could be DQS training, but I have not overclocked or touched something like that.

also, I had to turn my computer on and off a lot until I could get the monitor to work, so this could be a factor in this.

on Vista 64 bit. Gateway dx4200

just tried to get into the boot screen, safe mode requires the computer to restart.

    Thank you.

don't know what happened, but it works again...

Admin can mark it as resolved.

    Hello

First thing to try is placing it back as it was before any change. Don't forget to reinstall the cards memory.
and cables that you may have dislodged something. Which includes the removal of the video card for the test.

If no joy then you no doubt using a computer store real (not the leeks and glances at a Best Buy
or other stores) or Support technique Gateway.

Check with the drivers, documentation online and Support technique Gateway.

  • Arrow cursor freezes on the desktop to start OK in safe mode

Compaq Presario laptop.  Windows Vista SP 1. Touchpad

My wife's cell phone goes through a normal startup and about 5-10 seconds after the desktop appears, the arrow cursor freezes in its previous location.  It will not move.  It apppears that touch screen turns off.  To turn off the computer, I pressed the power button.

When I start in safe mode the touchpad works very well.

I reinstalled the driver touch screen safe mode ATP.  No joy.

This has happened in the last two days.  After it happened, I did a full scan with a Norton freshly updated in safe mode.  Only a minor tracking cookie has been found and fixed.  The problem has not disappeared.

Do I have to restore full or is it just a simple fix?

    Hello

    Two methods:

1 try a restore of the system back to before that happened.

    2. D Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (include reinstalling the drivers for the touchpad).

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.
