  • How to remove the configuration of logical standby database cleanly

    Hello

    We are on the BSG with 11.2.0.3 version of DB. For unknown reasons, we would like to recreate the logic of the standby database and for this I want to cleanly remove/uninstall/remove LOGIC of DATABASE of the EVE of the DATA GUARD configuration that we have.

    Setup of the DG has already 1 PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE that works very well. PRIM, PHYSICAL and LOGIC are all on different HOSTS. Could you please guide or we suggest exact MOS Doc id in this regard? I found an MOS Doc id which is close enough, but its steps include dg configuration completely deleting what I don't want. Only the logical Standby database must be delete itself so that it can be installed again properly.

    We use the CONTROL GRID and DATA GUARD BROKER.

  • ORA-01403: no data found on the LOGICAL standby database

    Hello

    Logical question of Eve:
    Enterprise Edition Oracle 10.2.0.2.

    M work waiting LOGIC for 1 year but still i have not had this...
    I m not be countinuously no data foud errror on the logic of the standby database.

    I found the table causing the problem (db_logstdby_events) and jumped this table and table instantiated using the package bwlow:

    exec dbms_logstdby.instantiate_table (...)

    but when I start to apply the logical waiting process it gives again some were found for the new data table:

    I even tried to instantiate the table to EXPORT/IMPORT assistance over time, but the same problem same deal with.

    As much as I knew abt the error that is:
    Table1:
    ID
    10
    20
    30

    Now if sql apply processes on standby logic tent performs the operation of (for example) updated as below

    Update table1 set id = 100 where id = 50;

    above request will not be completed cos he'll never find 50 values which is not in the table. That is why this error coming...

    Now my concern is... no user didn't dare change/make of such changes on the logic ensures. So if there is no change in the tables, then apply it sqll should get all the values to be needded for an update...

    Are there opportunities has one or several tables have been created on the eve before they were created on the primary? (If Yes check in DBMS_LOGSTDBY. INSTANTIATE_TABLE)

    Or jump and re-instantiate the table.

    Example of

  • create the table on the logical standby database

    Dear administrators,

    Here is my situation;
    1. my primary database (where the owner of the table is "ICC" having a DBA) is used for insert/update operations.
    2. the logic stdby DB (dataguard structure with MAX availability) is used to generate reports, after update tables belonged to the same "BCC" user Note that these tables is excluded from replication.
    3. developers may need to create this kind of tables to generate a different kind of reports.

    The problem is that when the application of standby is enabled or disabled, the ICC user is not able to create a new table, it gives ORA-01031: insufficient privileges. Note that it is not practical to ask the ADMINISTRATOR to disable "APPLY" to any table creation.

    You have an idea on how to solve.

    If I want my standby database to be read/write, only the logical standby database can it do?

    Thanks for the help

    S.

    Hello again;

    Do you think logical standby read-write feature can create a temp table on the fly?

    Yes. It should work.

    Another option (can depend on the size of your database) is materialized views.

    On some of the smaller databases, it works well, and all options are available for writing. A logical Standby should work, but you might think about maintenance, it takes before decide you on a solution.

    Research on the Data Guard forum for questions of logic can help you decide too.

  • Single-instance RAC logical standby creation

    Hello

    It seems silly, but I am not able to find any document that shows the steps to create a UNIQUE INSTANCE LOGICAL STANDBY database for a database of ORACLE RAC of NŒUD 2. I found documents for physical single-instance RAC database from the previous day. But not for the logic of sleep.

    Details:

    Status: Database physical standby single instance is created, it must convert logical pending.

    Rename the password should work (required in Oracle 11).

    Main password is:

    SCP /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbs/orapwORCL [email protected]:/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbs/

  • Identify gaps in logical Standby

    DB version: 11.2

    To identify gaps for physical standby DB, I use the requests mentioned in the post below
    StandbyDB is not synchronized with the primary

    To check if a logic on standby and primary is in sync, can I use the same query? Do I have to consider other factors for logical standby when checking for gaps?

    Hello;

    What part of this huge post! I think not, because this is not a logic of Eve.

    On a logical standby database, ask DBA_LOGSTDBY_LOG view on the logical standby database:

    COLUMN FILE_NAME FORMAT a55

    SELECT
      THREAD#, SEQUENCE#, FILE_NAME
    FROM
      DBA_LOGSTDBY_LOG L
    WHERE
      NEXT_CHANGE# NOT IN
        (SELECT FIRST_CHANGE# FROM DBA_LOGSTDBY_LOG WHERE L.THREAD# = THREAD#)  ORDER BY THREAD#, SEQUENCE#;

    The document data protection Concepts and Administration Oracle should have a 'Restore the Services of Transport' section on that.

    Another, also run on the logic of the previous day:

    SELECT
      SUBSTR(FILE_NAME,1,100) FILE_NAME, SUBSTR(SEQUENCE#,1,10) "SEQ#",
      FIRST_CHANGE#, NEXT_CHANGE#, TO_CHAR(TIMESTAMP, 'HH:MI:SS') TIMESTAMP,
      DICT_BEGIN BEG, DICT_END END, SUBSTR(THREAD#,1,4) "THR#"
    FROM
      DBA_LOGSTDBY_LOG
    ORDER BY
      SEQUENCE#;

  • How to change the character of database defined on the physical standby database?

    Hello

    We hear a database to WE8ISO8859P1 character and migrated the character set using csscan/csalter scripts to WE8MSWIN1252. This database has a configuration also physical standby database, and after the migration, the database physical standby shows always defined as WE8ISO8859P1 character. How can I change the characters on the physics of the day before? I asked a Service request with Oracle, and they said that you re-create the database pending is the only way to support the development of the tank set to the standby database. Is this true?

    Thank you
    Anthony

    You have received good advice from the Support of Oracle, so I recommend doing a complete refresh of Eve, but if you want to play with fire...

    On the elementary level, you can: -.

    target connection.
    RUN {}
    ALLOCATE CHANNEL disk1 DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT ' / home/oracle/rman_%d_%T_%s_%p';
    BACKUP CURRENT CONTROLFILE TO SLEEP;
    }

    or

    ALTER DATABASE CREATE STANDBY CONTROLFILE AS ' / home/oracle/standby.ctl';

    Then you stop the watch, replace the with the new primary backup controlfile and make sure that file names are correct (select name from v$ datafile). If the file names are correct, start the recovery. Otherwise, rename files, or difficulty with the rman command 'catalogue start with '.
