Search inside the password protected Office 2007 files in Windows 7

Hello:

I see from my research online, it says cannot find in files Office 2007 password (in particular, Word and Excel 2007) protected in Windows 7.

Is there a solution, a way to do this without removing the protection of password of all my files?

Thank you.

No there is no work around.  You can always search metadata, as if you have a file that I made which was protected, you can still find it by searching for author: shawn, but you would not be able to search inside of the file.

  • To password protect a zip file in Windows 7

OK, so we have Windows 7 after using XP. But now we have a big problem. I can't password protect all files zip or open them. Google seems to find no answer if anyone can tell me how I can do this. Now, if I can't create/open, then we have a serious problem. Can someone tell me why this has been deleted if it were.

7-zip is free software and work to password protect, however if the file is transferred to another computer, that computer must have 7 zip installed to open it.

Another option is that Windows 7 Professional and ultimate edition have the option to use Windows XP Mode, which should enable the password protection. I don't know if the recipient (if the file is intended for email) / other computer should open in the same mode of Windows XP.

I could be wrong, but I tried to create an archive of password protected using 7 - zip and selecting the format of "zip" archive Once that the archive was created I closed my 7 - zip and then open the archive and entered my password using Windows Explorer.

Everything worked OK, so presumably you can open an archive on another PC that does not have installed 7 - zip, as long as you created archive using "zip" as the format.

  • How do I use Visual Studio 2010/2013 and the Acrobat SDK kit to create an application that will be the password protect a PDF file?

I can use some other 3rd party tools that will allow me to open a PDF file, add user passwords and save it.  How can I do that using the SDK?  Looking for a simple solution... Thank you

OK, so the SDK is a complete non starter because

-the SDK is to work with Acrobat

    -Acrobat isn't for the server.

There are Adobe PDF Library, which provides a large part of the plugin API and CAN be used to make applications. Separate issue, DataLogics licenses (individual courses).

In addition, you can use your favorite search engine to find a third-party tool that supports zipped files password protection.

  • I recently changed the password on my Microsoft Account (aka Windows Live ID) and I can't connect is no longer in silver version Sunset

I recently changed the password on my Microsoft Account (aka Windows Live ID) and I can't connect is no longer silver bed version of Sun.

I tried both my old and new passwords several times. I checked that I use the correct password by signing in Outlook.com; MSN.com; etc - they all work, but I can not connect cash

The problem is solved (for me at least) but not the way you suggested.

First of all, some information more:

It seems that the problem is that the local file (on my hard drive) of MS Money had an old password set in cache, and he was unable to recognize that the password has been changed (in the cloud) and so it must use this new password as a valid key to open the file.  It was weird - MS Money knew had changed my password (it wouldn't accept my old password) but he didn't have to use the new password either.

I think it's partly because the silver Sunset version was never to be 'online' and in fact there are some recommendations when you install Money Sunset to stop using a Microsoft Account (and password) and just use a local (for this file only) user name and password if you wish.

In any case, I was able to work around this problem by:

    [a] disconnected from the internet

[b] opening of MS Money and signing with my old password

In this way, MS Money failed to check online if my password has been changed, so he simply accepted my old password.

As soon as I got the MS Money file, I changed it to stop using a Microsoft Account to access the file.

I hope that makes sense and is useful to others out there who have had similar problems.

  • Why by clicking on an attached file of MS launched protected Word file and allows you to bypass the password protection?

    Using Thunderbird 24.6.0 Windows 7
I got a MS Word (docx format) file as an attachment. The file is protected by password with the password that is provided in a separate e-mail.
To launch the file, I double-clicked on the attachment icon.
The file opens and displays the full content without prompting for the password.
(Save the file on my computer and opening it from the word trigger the prompt of password as expected.)

The whole point of sending files protected by password by e-mail, it's that anyone intercepting the file would not be able to open it without the password. Why Thunderbird bypasses this protection?

seriously you and you associate should investigate with S/Mime.

While the cost of commercial certificates, they are free to Comodofor personal use, so learning can be done without cost.

But if the two of you have a certificate and install it. (you need to digitally sign your mail.) encryption of mail content including attachments are as simple as click on Options menu > encrypt this message when you compose your mail.

No password, no e-mail with password and attachments in another mail. On your side, you get a guarantee that the message you receive is unchanged since that he showed when he was sent, and anyone who intercepts the message in transit would need to the key that is installed on the computer of the recipient to decode the content, in contrast to the normal plain which is sent text. And you don't notice anything else than a few icons when you read the mail that the decryption is done on the fly.

Note that email certificates are sent to your browser when you click on a link in an email from the provider must be exported from the browser certificate store and imported into Thunderbird certificate store.

  • How do I open the .snp with Microsoft Office 2007 files is installed? It works with MS Office 2003, but not with MS Office 2007!

I have MS Office Pro Plus 2007 is installed on my computer. I also MS Office 2003 is installed on a different computer. Snapshot viewer is installed on both. My snapshot of work files works with MS Office Access 2003 but not recognized by MS Office Access 2007. It would allow me to save them either! Is this a problem with FireFox (3.6.8)? However, I have no problem, open them using IE7/8 on both computers. Any ideas? Thank you.

I heard about other problems with Office 2007 to 2003, but most of the people do not have Pro/business versions with access, so maybe there's a previously unnoticed problem.

As indicated in my previous post, I don't always understand how you try to access the file. Can you right click and "save link as" to download?
