VGA / DVI monitor conflict?

A few months ago, I created two monitors on my computer, it is hung using a VGA cable and the other a DVI - D cable.  Everything worked perfectly until this morning.  Now, the computer is perpetually connection and disconnection then the DVI monitor.  Both monitors work fine by themselves, but as soon as the two are hung up cycle connect/disconnect restarting the PC DVI (about a second between each connect and disconnect).  I changed the DVI cable again and shorter cable, I watched the updates, and none have been installed prior to this failure.  I restarted the computer with different combinations of attached monitors and still no resolution.  Can someone help me?  I only have a DVI and a VGA port on my PC and only one of the monitors has DVI port.  My graphics card is an Intel 4 series internal chipset.

Thank you.

Hi Santosh,

None of these methods has helped, although the method 1 found a problem in another area so thank you for that.  I has not updated level of software or drivers before the show, but I think I found the problem.  I rebooted my system with two monitors connected to the computer, after crossing methods 1 through 3 (all display drivers are up-to-date).  When the system came the monitors were is still not working properly, but I noticed an icon in the part of the Notification of the taskbar.  It was a new icon for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, or at least one that I'd never noticed, .  I do not know if something is automatically installed this weekend (usually disable this option) or if something else started the problem, but I chose this icon and some Graphics Options, then extended desktop, digital display + monitor and suddenly the DVI monitor was detected and everything worked properly.

Thank you for your help,

Mac

You can use any DVI monitor DVI port directly or have any VGA monitor with the power that you adapter. A HDMI monitor might work with an adapter DVI to HDMI in a pinch, but HDMI tends to be more fickle.

  • AMD Radeon 6450 with two DVI monitors

just bought a new HP Pavilion p7qe with a graphics AMD Radeon 6450.  How 2 DVI monitors? I tried a digital dual link DVI, of no separator. I ordered a multi hub adapter, DP DVI 3 screen... who do not work.  Help!

    Hello

The Radeon 6450 on your PC has three ports; DVI, HDMI, and VGA according to the configurator.  Please check this information.

You can use a DVI cable to HDMI. www.pccables.com you can think of an adapter (DVI-HDMI).  I do not recommend adapters because they add more points of failure.

I tried to connect my SatelliteA200-23W with tv (DVI plug). Like cable, I had was dvi to dvi and my laptop has vga only (female) I got an adapter (VGA/DVI). After that I made the connection (my TV is also a Toshiba LCD 30 inch) and I used Fn + F5, with the channel setting DVI TV, I can't see or hear anything whatsoever!

Any who tried to link its A Satellite with tv?
Must say that I use Windows 7 edition.

    Hello

To use the monitor external, you must plug the cable first. Then turn on the TV and choose the right channel on your TV. Next turn on the laptop and then you should be able to switch between monitors if you press FN + F5. Check it!

Also, make sure that you use a high quality cable.

  • Adapter VGA DVI - HP 3500 Pro

    Hi all

Recently, my boss bought a bunch of HP Pro 3500 s. They come with a VGA and DVI, port that we use both for a dual monitor set up. Now when we connect to these ports by using a VGA cable and DVI set up works very well. However, when we use a VGA DVI adapter DVI port, the second monitor is not detectable. Is there a way to solve this problem, so we can use the adapters? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

What is the brand and model of the video card?

Also check the wiring to make sure they are properly attached and reinstall the video card drivers. It is possible that the graphics card does not support an office unified on several monitors.

    Here's how:

    1. click on the Start button.
    2. in the search box type devmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER.
    3. Select the video card device and right click on it
    4. now, select uninstall.
5 restart the computer. This should install it a suitable driver for it.

  • VGA/DVI

    Hi guys,.

    I have a winxp running T61p.

I want to connect my laptop (undocked) to an LCD monitor. Since I want to see more bright colors, that I would use option dvi monitor that I bought.

    Here's my question:

T61p isn't a dvi each output. Yet, I know we can change some settings in the bios to support dvi - d.

    (1) dvi only works when the laptop is connected? I ask this because only the docking station output a dvi.

    (2) if the answer to the first question is "no, you can always use DVI even if your laptop is in stand-alone mode.

    How?

Can I get a digital signal from my laptop vga port? Can I make a connection between the port vga (portable) and dvi (from monitor) port? Can I get a digital output even if I do a link between the vga (mobile) and (from monitor) vga port?

    Thanks for any help...

DVI works only when it is docked, your VGA output is only the analog signal.

  • Portege R500: unable to connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello

I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The cell would be supported - according to Toshiba - but my experience confirms that Dynadock is not able to access the DVI ports. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than the USB HUB.

My setup: Vista 32 company b (CZE edition), the latest patches, Toshiba R500.

Software: latest dynadock software 2.3 c.

Symptom: I can't connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, there are only two external panels with 800 x 600, but Vista does not allow me to choose.

More information: software Dynadock requires to run without Microsoft Defender, otherwise it blocks the service: DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink base Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you turn off the MSDef, the "error 2738" message appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I know the VBS question and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic - VBS "Hello World" runs.

If you think always, Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn + F5 and look at your logs and you should find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.

I look forward to the comments, advice etc. If you are able to transmit this bug report to a responsible engineer, do please.

    Hello Leo

As far as I know, Toshiba has not designed for laptops models own only Dynadock and it can be used on every laptop or fixed. Because of this, I think that this statement about model of care is not so important for this problem.

Toshiba provides devices and software. To connect using the USB port, and these ports must each computer or laptop. I hope that you have installed the software by following the on-screen instructions (device of should not be connected to the start-up of the plant).

Is your Portege docked the host or you have connected Dynadock directly in Portege s USB port?

  • Satellite P100: Can I connect two external monitor to the VGA & DVI port at the same time?

Satellite P100 comes with two port external monitor. One VGA and one DVI. Can you have two external monitor works at the same time? Can you have two external monitor as well as your internal screen working at the same time (for a total of 3 screen at the same time?

    Here's what I confirm:

Internal display + display DVI connector
    OR
Internal display + screen VGA connector

    Is it possible to have:

Display connector DVI + VGA connector display?

    OR

Display connector DVI + VGA connector screen + internal display?

As far as I know, this is not possible and you can use a DVI or VGA port.
Output signal can be used only a single port for external monitor.

  • No signal found by HDMI or DVI monitor. Monitor detects the VGA signal very well.

That is the problem. I used to get a signal from the HDMI cable or the cable DVi on my old monitor.  Then, the signal was there sometimes, and then it isn't.  Now my new monitor does not have an HDMI or DVI signal.  He finds the signal to the VGA and that works.  Any ideas?  Myself and a few others have no idea on how to solve this problem >

    Hello, billiardsnut

You use a DVI or HDMI adapter?

Assuming you are using a straight DVI-> DVI or HDMI-> HDMI Cable, try to turn off the computer and turn off the monitor, connect the DV or HDMI, then turn them both.

Some video cards will not dynamically change on its own, following the steps above will generally establish the proper output.

In addition, since you mention on your old monitor that it is intermittent, it might be that the digital (DVI/HDMI) port on your graphics card is a failure.

  • Pavilion h8-1128 w/Radion HD 6750: disables the VGA DVI!

I run 2 monitors SAMSUNG my h8-1128, which came with a HD6570 of Radion Eyefinity.

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Both monitors are supported by the DVI and VGA inputs. The HD6570 has a DVI - VGA dongle, DVI - I, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

After watching a bit in the cables, I find this cable:

    StarTech.com DVIVGAYMM6 6-foot DVI - I male to male DVI - D and HD15 VGA Male Video Splitter cable

    by StarTech

    Characteristics of the product

Use the DVI-> VGA dongle on the connector 6570's DVI with a VGA cable to the monitor that is shared with the CATV box, and then either an HDMI cable to DVI or DisplayPort / DVI cable.

You have reason... that would be the way to do it.

  • U2412M, new XPS 8600 DVI monitor does not

XPS 8600 with AMD 7500 series (an HDMI and a DVI output) video card.  The monitor is dead and does not illuminate.  Drop shipped a new Dell today and at least this monitor turns on (the led lights).  Connect DVI to DVI results in the error 'no signal' on the screen despite checking the entry in the menu monitor DVI...  If I use an old VGA cable with an adapter DVI of the computer that connects to the VGA port on the new monitor, there is no problem. So is the DVI cable, a problem with DVI-d port on the 'new' screen, or something else?

Thus, the new monitor came today and push the pedal using the existing cables, video card, etc. without incident.  The problem was with the refurbished monitor Dell sent in replacement.  Although I am happy that the incident is resolved, it took way too much troubleshooting and perhaps Dell should place stricter requirements on the "refurbished" products, they sent.
