Second hand ereader authorization transfer - how to proceed?

I bought a Sony PRS505 ebook reader second hand.  When I try to download an Adobe EPUP format ebook I get the error message:

This ebook may not be transferred because the reader is allowed to another user.

How do I get this off authorized?

I guess the owner previous should do but someone has simple instructions for how to do this?

Thank you

With the drive attached and showing in ADE, press Ctrl-Shift-E.  This will bring up the dialog to deactivate the device.  Turn off the device, disconnect it and reconnect it.  ADE should then show the device Activation Assistant.

Nobody here can help, and Apple will not help you to overcome the blocking of activation.  If the seller does not cooperate and remove the unit from their iCloud account, then you will never be able to use this device yourself.

  • How to check a second hand T43p.

    Hello

    I bought a second hand T43p at a friend's House.

And how do I check if it is refurbished or repaired? What quality problems I'll pay attention to?

The computer is aesthetically very clean. Only some wear on the keyboard. So, I was curious enough, as this model is released in 2005 and on the market until 2007. Then why not so there to clean the machine. The COA lable is always there. And no sign of refurbished label.

If it has the factory preload OS on it you can pitch it up and either:

    (1) press the ThinkVantage button when you see the splash screen of IBM and run PC Doctor of the Rescue and Recovery application. OR

    (2) let Windows boot, Run PC Doctor for Windows. AND

Run a full series of tests and if it passes you should be in good shape.

Don't worry renovated or not (probably not by the appearance of warranty page).

You have installed?  Which means that you went down and bought Windows XP all by himself in a retail establishment and it is a retail license, not a cheaper OEM license?

I asked a tech savvy friends to help me buy. He brought me a real CD, a product with COA and a manual Win XP key (they came sealed) and reception. It cost me about $160 (actually 7800 Indian rupees). I still have the COA product key, hologrammed CD sticker.

The CoA sticker wasn't on the hard plastic case?  Sounds like an OEM version - which once installed is "linked" to this computer/motherboard.

    Reinstall Vista:

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • PC with Windows Vista Business OEMAct COA of second hand

    Hello

I just bought a PC that has a Microsoft COA license sticker attached to it for "Windows Vista Business OEMAct" of second hand. It came without a HARD drive, so I installed my own and want to make sure that the key on the PC is still valid? If I can get my hands on a Vista disk, probably, I can install windows with this key and everything will be fine?
The question I have, is that I can then upgrade to Windows 8 for the $39,99 deal? I don't see why not?

    Hello

You must use the key to see if it is still valid. There is no public list kept.

Hadou no reason why it would not be valid as long as you can not transfer OEM licenses which they were installed on the original machine.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Second hand windows 10 gave the error 0x0000c14. Formatted with win 7, now nothing works.

    Hello!

So, I recently bought a second hand with 10 installed windows laptop.

After a few days, he stopped working and got 00x0000c14 error at startup.

I fully formatted using a disc of windows 7, and now I cant get it up and working properly.

It starts well on the desktop, but I can't get the installed network driver and so unable to connect to the internet.

In the windows.old folder, there are several drivers of all kinds. I can't install of these places. I tried and it doesn't seem to change anything.

I tried to download the configuration files and transfer them via my phone, but it has the same result as the drivers already installed in the old file win.

How can I get this laptop operational? Any direction is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to treat this as an opportunity to learn and not look at it as a negative circumstance, but if I can't get this to work laptop I'm in a bit of trouble, since I live in a country quite poor and cannot afford another PC.

    Thank you! :)

< re-titled and personal information under the direction of the host >

Do not post your phone number, users of public forums - I asked the host to remove it.

How is it locked? If it is locked to a carrier then contact the carrier that it is locked, only they can potentially unlock it.

If you mean than locking activation and it is locked on behalf of the previous owner via the settings > iCloud then contact that person, no one here (or Apple) can help.

  • 2nd hand Ipad Air 2, how to enable it?

So I bought a used Ipad Air 2 from Currys/PC World 2 days there, the camera will not let me activate it because it is still linked with the previous owner (unknown). I called 2 days ago apple care and provided a receipt of curries that I purchased legally from the store. They told me that they will be disables the account of previous owners and I have to wait at least 48 hours. After 2 days I have always received emails and answer back to Apple, so I called them once more. The person I was talking to now have been told they can nothing do with the device, or indeed at all help me. The option they gave me is to contact the previous owner, I have no idea who he is, or second hand it back to the shop.

Apple should not at least help legitimate customers on how to work around this problem.

Have you contacted the seller? Request a refund if you can't use it.

  • I have a second hand 5s iphone and the owner has not removed the icloud, and I don't have any details to the seller so what can I do?

can I use my iphone to second hand 5s without making the user off icloud because I don't have all the details and its driving me crazy because it is a stupid idea, so I don't see how you can lose a phone

Nothing. Unless the previous owner, clearing his account iCloud, he will remain in the lock of Activation for ever. It is totally unnecessary for you.

  • Need help with my laptop second hand Satellite

I have a unusual problem; I recently bought a second hand laptop that I knew wasn't working as I thought I could fix it. However, I discovered that all the decals identify which model I have are deleted. I know it's a Toshiba Satellite. The keyboard has a key missing "m", which I think is actually damaged as the laptop is a continuous beep on startup until the keyboard cable is removed.

Also, the screen remains white brilliant at startup. I read it can be caused by loose or damaged cables or a contrast problem, but as I can't use the keyboard I can't really do much.
When the system is running, I can see the rotation of the fan, I can hear the HDD works, but due to problems with screen/keyboard, I don't know if it s actually passing the start screen or not.

    So my questions are:
    (1) how the hell can I identify this machine when I can't start
    (2) can I use a USB keyboard to the diagnosis until I have the operation of the system?
    (3) should what tests I do to try to resolve the problem of the screen?

I realize I should have ask the seller for info, but I doubt that the guy had a clue anyway.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

You've done well think. Before you spend your time trying to find the solution it back and I hope you find better second hand laptop in better condition.
