Secondary display flashing/flickering/flashing randomly in Windows 7 Home Premium

I'm really at a loss on this one.

I bought recently (like yesterday) a Galaxy GeForce 210 graphics card, purely so I can run my 17 "Dell LCD next to my Samsung 24". I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

Everything seemed to work fine - I have installed the card, installed the drivers that came with it (who says are compatible Windows 7) and there we went. The 17 "plugged in VGA and the Samsung in DVI.

However, after being run for a bit, I started to notice that from time to time (read about once or twice a minute), the Dell would flicker or flash a bit. The best way I can think to describe it is to imagine having the bar about a third of the screen to the Windows taskbar height and then suddenly it shrunk and your graphics card couldn't keep up - so that you get a momentary flash of Black Watch Office. This is what is happening to me.

It doesn't matter what application is running - or even if no application is running - and I can't reproduce it on demand, although it seems that every time I use the 3D features (e.g. change of task in the card sorting method).  However, I tried the following things:

1) updated drivers from nVidia.com - now run 8.17.11.9745 - no change

(2) restarted my machine without the time to make sure that's not the problem - no change

(3) started my machine in Vista Ultimate 64-bit, charge the same drivers from nVidia - flicker does not seem to happen!

(4) off the second screen under Windows 7 - the only remaining screen glisten.

(5) reactivated the second screen - now the Samsung screen is the one doing the flickering. According to how many times I do it, the flickering remains on at least one of the screens.

(6) have tried what seems like the entire internets! - still can't find a solution!.

Someone out there you have ideas on how to solve this problem?

Hi thecrane.

How did set you your additional monitor? Mirrored, extended, only external display

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: change display settings also change color depth then test

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/getting-the-best-display-on-your-monitor

Step 2: Flickering of the Correct monitor (refresh rate)

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

Try using the display quality problems to solve the problem. It ensures that your video card driver is compatible with Windows 7, and checks to see if your color grading, video effects and the display settings are correct.

  • I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit). Unable to get a backup to a flash drive. Error: 0 x 81000029

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

  • Windows 7 Home Premium random freezes

So, I had this problem for quite a while now.

I tried to start troubleshooting tool Windows, all the other points that have been proposed on the forums.

    No help.

My computer keeps randomly freezes, sounds a bit weird and duplicates.

My memory is good, everything is good.

I don't know if it's my card motherboard and CPU.

I have a Dell XPS 8300, and I believe that it is related to windows.

My drivers are up to date. I also have enough memory.

I don't think it's a virus or a game, but it could be. It's really irritating while I'm doing my games. If someone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    Please provide the dump files.

After analyzing dump files, we have reached the following conclusions.

This problem may occur because of problems with the graphics card drivers or problems with memory.

I suggest to uninstall and reinstall your graphics card driver and check. Here are the steps:

    • Press the Windows key + R.
    • Type devmgmt.msc.
    • Expand the display card adapter.
    • Right-click on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 driver and select Uninstall.

Now, go to the website of NVIDIA GeForce and try to install the latest version of the drivers and check. Here is the link for NVIDIA GeForce: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760

You can also run the disk check. Follow these steps:

    • Click on start.
    • Type cmd into the search bar.
    • Right click on cmd and select run as administrator.
    • Chkdsk/f/r
    • Press enter.

Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

In addition, run memory diagnostic test. Consult the following link:

Diagnosing memory problems on your computer

See also: Windows hangs or freezes

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I had some problems with random BSOD on my laptop.
The laptop itself is relatively new, bought in March of this year, very good model but refently that I started to have problems.

One day I closed the laptop and reflections he entered mode 'sleep' but a few hours later, when I opened a BSOD looked at me in the face, the processor part was hot enough so I restarted immediately to lower the temperature, but I remember the BSOD had something "Kernel Power" written on it.

It happened 3 - 4 times since then, the third time it happened that I enabled the logging minidump so now I also the log since the last time it happened, can someone take a look and tell me what is happening and how to fix it?

I still have a warranty on this baby so I can get it fixed for free if it's a hardware problem, I still have some important work to do this week (already almost lost a crucial project file on it) so I want to try to fix it myself for now, until I get this project done.

The BSOD can be caused by a hardware problem software.
You can check if the new OS install would solve this if this software issue then a new operating system installation is the good workaround. Before you start an OS install, back up data ;)

But of course the question could be linked to the material; for example the high temperature.
You said that you have noticed a higher temperature everything to happen.
So maybe the memory modules are affected by a higher temperature, and this leads to BSOD. Often blocked fans are reason for this. Check to see if dust and debris must be removed you can remove the dust using a jet of compressed air.

But if this is not enough, I'd recommend checking the material under conditions of warranty

  • When I try to use the Dell reinstallation DVD Windows 7 Home premium SP1 64-bit, it crashes when is about to display the windows logo.

    Re-installing Dell inspiron 19 has windows 7

    People,

I have a Dell Inspiron 19. The Dell of Dell diagnostics disk utilities & drivers say all right. It is a Seagate 320 GB drive. I installed the drive on another computer and used sea tools to erase the disc.  Then I created a partition and marked as "bootable".

When I try to use the Dell reinstallation DVD Windows 7 Home premium SP1 64-bit, it crashes when is about to display the windows logo.  A few pixels logo show and then it's there.  Any ideas?  I worked on it for several days.  Really a "stumper" for me and I did something like that for years!

Original problem seems to be a massive viral infection (owner had no active antivirus software installation!) which led to the non-bootable computer.  After working on this for a while, I decided to just do again it.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit: MP3 edition & display of metadata in windows explore

I have a question about WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 BIT and edit and display METADATA of MP3 files in windows Explorer. Windows Explorer does not allow me to change the metadata (contributing artists, genre, year, etc.) on some of my MP3 files. Change is made at the bottom of the browser or right click on the MP3 file and edit in the Details tab in the properties. Sometimes the metadata are referred to as tags.

The error I get when I try to change metadata in windows Explorer is:

Error 0x8007000D: the data is invalid

This is a new computer and Windows 7 is pre-installed.

    Help please!

I'd even though my library removing these hidden ID3v2.4 tags, I found a quick, if making mp3tag. Select a whole bunch of songs (no matter if they have the extra layer of ID3v2.4 tags) and remove the labels. Then click on the Cancel button. During the cancellation he writes only ID3v2.3 tags and remove the hidden ID3v2.4 tags. This way is easier because I don't have to worry about destroying it the tag data id3 files that do not have the problem.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit crashing randomly

I had questions on this for the last month or as well as my 3 year old Dell Inspiron 620 keeps all the few hours of freezing randomly (no BSOD, it freezes and stops responding at the time). I removed a ton of files in the indexing log, which increases performance and put an end to the question for a few weeks, but it's still about an hour he y a. I also ran CCleaner a few weeks ago and the issue was not yet set. In general, my PC will perform very well, and then will just freeze a few hours after the start on certain occasions. If it was scientifically at the gel, I get a "static repetition" playing in my speakers noise.

Can someone help me on this... I also had problems with the theme on one of the accounts on my PC. On this account, which I use very rarely, I will open it, then a few minutes later windows full size (and the desktop icons) will be moved down almost half a cm, with the screen showing by behind. Then I change the theme of the Aero Basic to see if he can solve the problem, and when moving to the back, the bottom of screen and sounds will update to this theme, but windows will remain in the base style. Why this only happens for this one account? The account is corrupted?

So is that someone could try and help me with these two issues, in particular the gel that begins to really bother me. Is - fixable without reinstalling Windows? Please try to find a solotuion for the problem of crash... He never used to do, but he's started in the last month or two. I tried the system restore, but there is no point of restoration after a week or two in age.
