SecureSocket on Playbook

Hi all, I want to know, Playbook does support SecureConnect?

I got on SecureSocket documentation here SecureSocket is not taken in charge on mobile devices.

and also I tested Simulator using SecureConnect.isSupported and thrown false argument.

I just want it to be clear, is it also not supported on the real device?

Thx for the info

So far, all the other situations where flags isSupported 'false' report are accurate on the PlayBook and Simulator, so there is no reason to think that this one is not as good.

If you want support for she added, creating a feature request in the Tracker (JIRA) issue would be appropriate. First make sure that no one else has already created one so there are no duplicates.

Anyone knows when are we going to get Skype for blackberry playbook?
I'm sure that everyone who got a playbook are willing to pay for it if it's going to be the case! Skype developers can you please make the application for the playbook of bb.

    Hello

If Skype for the playbook will be history as for all other BB models, you're in for a long wait!

All BB users have requested, begging,... Since 2008-2009 to get Skype on the BB, but it's still not available and no word from Skype on the why, which leaves only when...

Some purists will respond that it is available for customers of Verizon in the United States and 3 customers in the United Kingdom, drunk as everyone knows, is not what we want!

So: good luck getting a response on the 'when' the question of Skype...

  • ePrint apps for the blackberry and blackberry playbook torch

    Hello Dagreenguy,

The only application for Blackberry from HP operating system is HP ePrint Service, found on the link below.

    http://appworld.BlackBerry.com/WebStore/content/13675?lang=en

This app is mainly for printing on public printers, an example might be a FedEx Kinkos.

If you want ePrint on your personal printer, I'd just sending an e-mail to the e-mail address of your printer from your Blackberry mobile ePrint.

  • PlayBook Simulator - missing all icons, features etc.

I downloaded the Simulator playbook and runing am through VMWare... but I don't see not all icons, can't use the browser etc.

    screenshot:

The Simulator is limited at this stage to deal purely with AIR apps only? or is there a problem with my installation.

I was hoping to test the functionality of the browser for certain web applications, HTML5 etc before going into a java application development.

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

Yes.  Currently the BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator can be used only to test custom air applications.

  • How can I update the AIR runtime to 3.5 on Playbook OS 2.1?

I have improved my playbook for the latest operating system and the installed AIR runtime is only 3.1 I thought 3.5 with stage3D was available. How to change the Adobe AIR runtime?

You can't do that. The AIR runtime is part of the operating system. The BONES of the PlayBook does not intend to be updated. AIR 3.5 will be available on BB10 10.2 +.

  • BlackBerry Playbook Z30 Rapid Charging Stand / Premium charger Compatible w / Z30?

Does anyone know if the Playbook Rapid Charging Stand (2A) or the Playbook folding blade Premium charger (1-8) are compatible with the Z30, or one of the new smartphones Blackberry 10?  First of all, the higher current will damage the Z30 power circuits?  And finally, the Charging Stand includes the Z30 or measures are simply a mismatch?  Thanks in advance!  Very much appreciated.  See you soon.

Yes, the Playbook folding blade charger (1-8) Premium is certainly consistent.

The stand can have different measures. I do not know. I might try tomorrow.

  • The difficulty to launch android applications reconditioned on device PlayBook (Simulator OK)

Just updated my android app and it passed verification.  I will install on my PlayBook, and it won't start.

The application works on the new 2.0 PlayBook Simulator very well, but when I go to install on the current device, it installs, but will not start.

I tried without success (all these I tried both USB and WiFi connection) the following:

    • Restart the PlayBook after the 2.0 update (several times)
    • Signature of the bar and the deployment using command-line tools
    • Do not sign the bar and deployment via command line tools (after configuring Debug token)
    • Deployment by using the new eclipse plugin - is to expire, I have even increased the time-out value of 60 seconds and much more), it gets stuck on "Launch BlackBerry Android Runtime."... ", then a message that says" failed to connect ├a 192.168.1.139 to BAD! »

Also, I'm under Mac OSX Lion and v2.0.0.3778 PlayBook.

Anyone else having any of these issues or having luck getting your reconditioned apps to run on the real device?

Any of you installed a pre-beta version of an Android player that has been disclosed on another forum?

Whether a security wipe can be in the order that I suspect that the two versions of the player are probably in conflict!

  • Air - PlayBook SDK version

What is the latest version of the Air SDK that the functioning of the PlayBook?

    See you soon!

Do you mean the "Tablet OS AIR SDK" of BlackBerry with BB UI, APIs and tools? It is https://developer.blackberry.com/air/download/#playbook 2.1

The runtime on 10.0/10.1 PlayBook and BB10 AIR is 3.1. To compile for this run time, you can use:

You can usually use a new version of SDK software (e.g., Flash Builder 4.7) as long as you:

    • Add - swf-version 14 to the compiler command line
    • and set the version of the AIR in your manifest XML file 3.1
    • and do not use any AIR 3.2 + API.

BB10 10.2 AIR runtime has been upgraded to 3.5. The corresponding SDK BlackBerry is 3.2.0.
