I go to google.comand start typing, rather than appear in the search bar, it appears in the URL bar. It seems that the resettlement of firefox was the key to fix. But I had to lose all my favorites in the process. =(

Component of the virtual machine Java Server Oracle PSU

Database Oracle component JavaVM PSU is released the Critical Patch Update program from October 2014.
It consists of two separate benches:

    • One for the JavaVM Oracle component within the Oracle database--which is applicable to the ORACLE_HOMEs database only.
This is usually referred to as 'OJVM PSU' in My Oracle Support documents.
    • One for JDBC clients - applicable to the Client Instant Client, database and grid ORACLE_HOMES.

  • SERIOUS BUG! Clear cookies does not

After that I updated to Firefox 36.0.4, option of th to clear cookies does not work!

    DESCRIPTION:
Tools/Options/Privacy/settings / "" when I quit firefox it should clear automatically: Cookies ""

I check the box. Restart et seq. checkbox is now unchecked, and cookies are NOT deleted.

When I do restart and go into the settings, the remains of the box ticked, but only until you restart.

It is a SERIOUS security bug, in my opinion.

    As shown above:

The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).

You can remove the user.js file if not create you this file yourself, because there is no need to initialize Pref in this way.

  • Compromised security fixing Macbook Air running Lion.

My mother got scammed and some people have taken complete control of his computer remotely.  While she didn't give them his information of the Bank, they had total control and therefore no matter what on the computer that could be compromised should be supposed to be compromised.  I plan to wipe the drive and reinstall the software.  I was wondering two things...

Is the recovery partition that put on the computer somewhere safe to reinstall it from Apple?

She's not all backups.  She has some JPEG files she wants.  What is the best way to transfer?  I was thinking a USB key I need to scan with Symantec antivirus.  But I've heard that usbs are dangerous?

She has a Macbook Air.  She was running Lion (10.7).  I don't know until I get my hands on it tomorrow...

Any advice would be great.  Thanks in advance.

Nothing on this box is entirely safe to be safe - even the backups can be suspect.

See re - install or try surgery? for a recent discussion of the present.

Your own USB drives are very likely very well.  Yes, there are ways that USB drives you pick up in a parking lot or in trade shows can cause problems, but this isn't the case here.  Buy the disc, erase and format it in HFS + on your Mac and allows to transfer what is important.

I would probably do a full backup of the entire system on an external drive, on the off chance that there is something else that may be necessary.

FWIW, anti-virus and anti-malware tools are not known to be particularly robust or reliable products, are not intended to detect backdoors, some have a history of having backdoors and security bugs in packages and are not designed to defend against what is happening in a growing number of people; against scams and phishing attacks, as has happened here.

  • Is there a breakdown for Cisco bug ids?

I'm curious to know what are the values of the id of the bug.  For example.  All bug IDS begin with the CSC followed by two letters and a series of numbers.  The two letters represent something beyond the unique values randomly?  I was hoping that by looking at the release notes for a new version of the code, I could easily identify what kind of bugs have been fixed.  More specifically, in my case, I want to identify easily if security vulnerabilities have been fixed in a version of particular code without having to maintain an exhaustive list of all security bugs.

    Hi Dave,.

I'm not aware anyway to easily accomplish what you want.  Here are the options I can think of:

    Bug ToolKit (known affected Version)
Note of support for the SW version (OPEN / closed caveats)
    Notice of security itself.

Not much can be taken from the id of the bug itself.

    Best regards

  • What the CSCuu55258 bug?

    Hi all

Does anyone at - he had success running the train to 9.4.x ASA with firepower? The bug is still topical? It's happened before to me that bothers, although serious, never appears.

I need to upgrade my ASAs 9.3.3 towards something which is not affected by the bug of IKE and a small jump in 9.4.2 - 11 seems resonable but since I rely on the system of fire power for my in depth I could be affected by the Cisco security bug.

    Concerning

I am running 11 9.4 (2) with a 6.0.0.1 firepower. It does not seem to be affected by this bug.

  • Oracle configuration settings to disable security controls

    Hello

Can someone shed light on this statement from oracle:

"We identified this problem two years ago. It was not a product coding flaw allowing hackers to circumvent the security mechanisms. Instead, the product includes a configuration setting allowing customers to disable security. Oracle has identified that customers have left this open setting and immediately released a patch which is the default setting for customers secure. This patch was released as part of our regular Critical Patch Update clients know to apply quarterly. Oracle has informed all our customers directly that they must apply the patch. This process is common in the industry.

What configuration is and what the patch for it?

    Thank you

CPU/PSU patches are cumulative in nature. So if you use one of the last based on your version of DB, old security bugs will be fixed with it.

  • ADF simple security App works not

I created a simple application to try to get a simple security scenario works, but I'm either missing something or there is a security bug.

In my application, I have a user (user/password), an application role (BasicUserRole) and a page/taskflow (main page). I put in security as a result of the tutorial below. When I run the app, I am prompted with browser authentication dialog box. I enter the credentials (username/password), but authentication fails and I get redirected to the page "error 401 - Unathorized."

I have attached my simple application. If please take and look and let me know if I did something wrong or if I hit a bug.

    Thank you

  • When I click on the gear in modules to select Reset all the Add-ons to update manually, NO checkmark shows and firefox deletes icon Protection of Kaspersky

I love the old version of Firefox, because I REFUSE to use my computer without Kaspersky. I have it? > Kaspersky is MORE important for me than Firefox (G.Chrome is my backup)

Now I have KIS 2016 and I love its hexagonal icon, showing attempts it is blocking (it is set to block). Firefox 3 times now DELETED this icon, but shows that the Protection of Kaspersky is always an active add-in. I had to uninstall KIS 2016 3 times to return to this icon. When I click on the gear to select the background choice 'Reset all the Add-ons to update manually', nothing happens. No check mark shows, in Options / Advanced, I chose never "check updates". I'm tired of wasting my time to re - install KIS 2016 to get back on this icon. About: config I have enabled FALSE app.update.auto, app.update.enable and app.update.silent. What can be done in addition to the removal of Firefox? (I'm NOT going to install latest Firefox because it is incompatible with KIS).

You are using a version of Firefox that is very old, please upgrade to the latest version of Firefox updated to the latest version. Kapersky drops support for older versions of Firefox, so if you do not update you may encounter problems in the strange, not to mention many security bugs in older versions of Firefox.

Then, make sure that you use the latest version of Kapersky and then use controls, buttons and Toolbars Customize Firefox to add the icon of kapersky on toolbars of Firefox.

  • 10.11.6 updated: No Destination valid

With all its problems, maybe I shouldn't try to update to 10.11.6. However, with all fixed security bugs, it seems interesting.

The problem I encounter when running osxupd10.11.6.dmg, is that the Macintosh HD "does not meet the conditions required for this update".

I've never met this message before.

    There are 262,17 GB available.

    (1) what version of Mac OS X you are currently running?

    (2) where did you got this file osxupd10.11.6.dmg?

It does not resemble a legitimate update.

There are two ways to update to 10.11. * to 10.11.6:

    (a) go to the App Store, click updates, and then locate the 10.11.6 it and click on the update button

    (b) download the update from Apple support Combo and run it:

Download OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update - Apple Support

If you have a previous operating system (10.10 or earlier), then you will need to 'buy' OS X El Capitan (it's free) to the App Store.

  • Why need password when connecting Thunderbird not actually?

Apparently, once a user is connected to the TB using the password, it is necessary once again
to access the passwords stored (via Tools\Options\Security).

BUT I FOUND - when the initial TB connection box, if you click Cancel instead
give the password, you are immediately given access to the account (set
to the mailbox where you left last TB). Then, if you want to access
an another mailbox, you need only click on Cancel to give access. It is clearly
a security bug - password is not needed to access the emails!

However, if you connect using the password instead of click on cancel, TB
the following dialog boxes do not appear.

It seems that this password system protects only the stored passwords, not the
contents of the mailbox of the account as well...

It seems that this password system protects only the stored passwords, not the contents of the mailbox of the account as well.

Passwords to Thunderbird can remember are your account passwords. They are necessary to access your account on the server. They are not necessary to access the (local) profile.

You can set a master password to protect the account passwords.

  • I totally disable updates, so I stop doing a gazillion of pop-ups on an update, I don't want?

I am very happy with the version of Thunderbird that I use.

How can I totally disable updates, so I get a gazillion of pop-ups on an update, I don't want to stop me?

Tools > Options > advanced > Update tab

This is where the settings are about the updates.
    There are three options:
1 auto check and install updates
2 auto check but ask me if I want to install
    3. do not check

Looks like the second option is selected, it's check and asking with a command prompt. I also use this becaue I want to keep updated with corrections of bugs and security issues, but I want to update when I say and not when I'm in the middle of something important.

Thunderbird update will contain updates of security, bug fixes etc.
You should be aware that selection update may affect your security risk.

  • updatet firefox broken link direktory

I have a web project in ~/www/Release file.
It can work with 2 application server. One is placed in xx.xx.xx.105 IP, the other by IP xx.xx.xx.6. I do 2 105 and 6 records and connect all the files from ~/www/Release to them (ln s Release / *. /), except settings.xml.
Then I try to open (ctrl + o) ~/www/6/index.html - firefox open for ~/www/Release/index.html and settings.xml from the release dir, ~/www/6 resp. No.
Google Chrome and previous FireFox works fine.

I have confirmed that when you load a file:///some/symlink url in firefox 13 you are immediately redirected to the target of the symbolic link. Unfortunately, I think (I'm not 100% sure I'm right on the guilty code) this change has been introduced as part of the fix for bug 670514, which is a security bug which still restricts (http://www.mozilla.org/security/announce/2012/mfsa2012-37.html links to this bug). As I can't see this bug, I can not tell you if the behavior you're seeing now is quite intentional or not, but I'm afraid it's probably.

I think you can work around this problem by using hard links instead of symlinks. My personal preference would be to use a version control system, so you can track the changes and the two branches, but maybe it's a change more intrusive you are comfortable with.
