Security SIM screen classic blackBerry and autonomy

I love my classic Blackberry. But there is a problem. In my pocket the phone sometimes ends with the screen asking me to enter the SIM Pin code. The phone is usually leather Holster. The problem is, whenever I wear around the phone in my pocket, without recognizing that it is in this State "SIM-security screen", the phone consumes a lot of battery. In this State, the battery lasts just four hours.

Out of the case I was not able to reproduce the problem. I tried to do by pressing the keys at random.

Is there any configuration, I can do to avoid this?

Best regards

Ludvík

Interesting... maybe this KB is about:

The instructions may or may not correctly apply BB10, but maybe you can find the same result on your device.

Good luck!

How to divide the icons of e-mail (yahoo, gmail, hotmail) the hub of BB and make them appear separately on my list of apps?  Thank you.

    You can not.

But you can see the e-mail accounts separately in the hub. Tap the bottom of the icon on the left in the hub, and then select the account you want.

In addition, the default setting in the options of the Hub is to return to the display of Hub unified after a time of inactivity. You can disable this option if you want the Hub to stay in an account until you change it.

  • Questions classic blackBerry Blackberry Classic compared to the features and functions of the Bold 9900

I am extremely satisfied with the functionality of my Blackberry Bold 9900 and yet I am fun the idea of upgrading to a classic Blackberry and had a few questions, some of them functional, but one of them is technical:

    (1) I have granularily configured different contacts to the ring through "silent" while some people may sound through if I'm having a NAP or sleep. The classic allows you granularily configure the option of 'ring through' on a manually configured silent mode?

    (2) can the classic surely go to sleep and wake up one day of week / weekend schedule? My current phone doesn't sleep at midnight and wake up at 06:00 every night of the week and 02:00 to 09:00 on weekends.

    (3) back in the day of Blackberry older had a view "of today" where you could see the incoming email and tasks on the main screen. I couldn't get that with my Bold 9900, but I found this interesting app called BePopup which jumps to the top of my texts and emails on the screen as they come, without touching a button. Can you get automatically posted emails or texts with that with the classic?

    (4) the Blackberry plan I have with my provider uses the platform communications for my Blackberry RIM and so my e-mails are immediate, arriving minutes always quicker than other CC (iPhone and Android users) distribution lists. That being said, is the new classic uses what platform these other phones use for messaging connectivity?

Any feedback regarding these essential functions would be greatly appreciated as it will help me in my decision. I am very happy with my 9900 and have little reason to upgrade... unless all of these options are available.

  • Classic BlackBerry very basic (?) stupid question

I don't yet have a classic BlackBerry and I understand that it works with GSM, and that neither AT & T nor Verizon carriers nor any other major carrier supports again.  So if I buy a classic BlackBerry now, it means that I already have a cell phone to work with a carrier such as AT & T MOBILE and I need to get the SIM card to connect to the BlackBerry?  And I expect that it works?  Thank you.

BlackBerry works in all the usual is GSM, 3G and LTE networks. All you need is a the operator's standard data plan you.

  • How can classic BlackBerry locked out device, I contact BlackBerry?

I recently picked up classic BlackBerry my sister, but she left her theft protection, apparently you forgot his password and then remove his BlackBerry ID thought that would solve the problem (of course it doesn't have). After doing a factory reset, it has become obvious that the device will not work without unlocking the theft protection, but this is impossible because his BlackBerry ID no longer exists. I called the store where she bought the classic BlackBerry and their response has been contact BlackBerry to reactivate the account.

This seems simple enough, but in fact proved to be somewhat problematic. On the site Web of BlackBerry I get constantly referred to in the Belgian part of the site that does not exist. How can this even happen for a company of this size? For example: by clicking on the official "BlackBerry Support" link at the top of the page takes me to http://be.blackberry.com/support.html, which is just an error 404 and nothing else.

I contacted (and followed) BlackBerryHelp on Twitter and sent a DM, but after about 30 hours without response I'm getting a little impatient and also fear they will just refer me to another place.

Someone at - it experience with the account of aid and their response time? Is there another way to communicate with BlackBerry on this problem? My last resort is the call the phone number, but I would avoid that, given that the only options in Belgium are French/English and explain a problem over the phone is already quite annoying in my native language (in Dutch).

I have the original purchase at hand confirmation and you can get any other required documents, then this isn't a problem. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are a little technical, you can get your camera upward and functional by loading an old device software (which removes the protection against theft) and then load the latest version of the software again. Here are the steps:

  • Classic BlackBerry change language without knowing the language

Just bought a classic Blackberry and it works. Be it by my mistakenly preset, the language is Chinese.

I would like to change in German or English, but could not find the configuration.  (And Yes, I know it's in the preferences > languages or more, but that doesn't help me because I can't read what I would need to set up and where I would have to do).

Not even look to high German and English in Chinese characters. Think I found it in one of the drop-down lists, but even this does not change the language. Most likely, it was the wrong settings...

Completely blocked. (Wouldn't start a return for a phone which otherwise is probably very well.)

Are there keyboard shortcuts to reset to factory settings or change the language?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hi @aknoche

The device has a defined password? If so you can enter the wrong password 10 times to trigger a wipe that should return the unit to return to English.

If you do not have a password I recommend a cleaning charge as would be the best way to restore the device into English, unless you can find someone who can navigate the menus in Chinese. Sorry!

  • Files not supported classic blackBerry

I have inserted a 32 GB SD card in my classic Blackberry and settles all the multimedia files on it. After a few days I couldn't open my pictures and my videos from SD card. I got an error like "corrupt data". My default location for all photos taken by the camera is now the SD card. After a while I take pictures I do not see them, only the thumbnails.

I get the error "this file contains an unsupported media format" for some mp3 files. I have delete and copy again my OneDrive account and receive the same error. What is the problem? Please help me.

Could be a faulty SD card.

I suggest that you reformat the classic or the PC card.

  • BlackBerry App Viber unavailable for classic Blackberry?

I just upgraded my BlackBerry "BOLD" in the classic Blackberry and went to install the apps I often use & discovered Viber isn't available for BB... any thoughts we if it will come back?  Or other applications that have a similar operation?

I went through anxiety even when I first upgraded, but don't be afraid. In order to get a lot of these applications, that you expect to be available, you need to sideload "SNAP" (search for instructions on how to get the snap) which is an application that will give you access game store of google at the bottom of the support Android applications that will be run on your new classic. I was about to pack up and return my Classic when I thought that viber and uber and online app were not available because the BB world and shop Amazon store do not list these applications. It takes about 10 minutes start to finish to get app loaded Snap and you'll be good to go. I was able to get Viber, Uber, line and a host of other applications that I used to have on my "BOLD".

  • Classic BlackBerry what may be the end of the road for me and BB...

first thing first. My classic is not yet two years old and it was very expensive.

Ive had only bb for years and years, my favorite by far.

    TMobile can't bb.

    TMobile sells more bb.

    same bb sells more classic.

Facebook has pulled his app so now I have no facebook.

half of the speaker/mic stopped working months ago, no one can fix it.

the software of bb (tons and tons of it) cost me a LOT of bandwidth at home, had to uninstall it. man, I had no idea until my ISP told me. It was really bad.

now texting niot work. I have already crossed tmobiles * support * still does not work.

I try to text someone, sometimes it allows me to enter text, sometimes it only allows me to enter text. He sends some soetimes more often than otherwise the message will just totally disappear.

Oh and im still paying the phone is off.

    Hey @xlaurenstephens answering your tweet.

I understand your frustration. We need more information.

    1. What is your operating system loaded on your device? From the main screen, drag to the bottom of the black bezel that is superior to the settings > everything... What is the Version of the OS that there are listed?

    2. have you restarted your Classic lately, or how many times? Do it. One or both as shown below.

Restart: With the BlackBerry powereddevice, press and hold the power button on top about 20-30 seconds, ignore the 3-2-1 timer and hold the button until the screen goes black and you see the red LED.
    or
Restart: With the phone smart BlackBerry turned on, using the keys of volume of the edge side, press on and hold the keys of volume for about 20 seconds and both of the Up, ignoring the initial message of screenshot... the screen go black, reboot.

After either of the above process, wait about 5-6 minutes after restarting a household with the device, let data synchronization and settle.

    3. find the 3-4 most text threads, these are some who you text presenting most often and remove these threads text completely and restart again as described above. This should really improve your text problems.

    4. on the microphone and the speaker, what makes you think half does not, of each?

I have no idea on the issue of software data. Which will cost you to uninstall what? Can you be clear in explaining what you mean or what you were doing. What you uninstall?

  • Classic classic BlackBerry established and photo transfer

I couldn't set up my e-mail account on my new classic - what I have to share my new SIM card first?  And although my contacts transferred to my Bold 9900 by Blackberry link, my pictures have not.  What is the best way to transfer images from a Bold 9900 at a new classic?

Thank you for your answers to my two questions.  My mail server is IMAP and requires advanced configuration and validation which, appears, cannot be done online.  And Blackberry link does not appear to allow me to copy images from the camera to my Bold 9900 at my classic.  If tomorrow I will be going to my ISP about my e-mail account and will copy my images from the camera to my computer and then on my computer to my classic.  Thanks for your help.

  • Classic BlackBerry is really classic classic - disabled touch screen?

I can't WAIT iPhone.  I want to go back to the Blackberry.  I want something that is like an iPhone I can get.

'Classic' looks exactly what I want - for me, 'classic' means keyboard and a touchscreen 'No surprise ' disabled, all modes, never, nada.  I may be a little less dexterity than most, but I can't stand the constant surprises to touch the screen at the time where she helped unit, shifting attention from one place to the other, pulling on the device in my pocket, the bumps that are involved during the ringing of the phone, etc etc.  There are a lot of comments in the forums that express my concerns with precision.

Disable the touchscreen completely, permanently, all modes?  If not through a setting mode, can I leave a little water on it all night to saturate the capacitors and disable it?  A weak acid like vinegar?  Is there a wire to be cut?

If I can not disable the touch screen classic, should what device I get - which is the latest model with a screen 'No surprise '--9780?

    Thank you.

No, you can't turn off the touch screen.
But you'll love the classic, it is, as you say, totally unlike any other device.

  • BlackBerry App investigating the classic BlackBerry, T-Mobile and the WiFi calling app

I am looking for on this forum after being (possibly) achieved through BlackBerry World (located here, so you can make reference to what I'm going to talk: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/35524900 ) this app is marked as 'BlackBerry Lmtd' being the developer, that's why it is implicit that BlackBerry updates to this app and is responsible for its support. I am at this point, after trying (for weeks) to find how this whole process of WiFi calling went down, I was told by T-Mobile at the level executive response that BlackBerry was next to insider support. In its current form the above application currently supports only prior 2 BB10 peripheral T-Mobile, the Q10 and Z10. Despite the classic hit the shelves of T-Mobile, despite the fact that T-Mobile as well as the TWO classic BlackBerry supports WiFi called, it seems to come down to this app gets an update. I write here wondering if there is information about the status of this application as well as the support with regard to devices. Will be it be updated to include the classic? Is this a known issue? Is this really T-Mobile app? Just anything, any kind of transparency or tiny tidbit of information be always so would appreciate! If anyone has information or can better direct me on where to take my survey, I am more than happy to wait for your answers! Thank you for your time.

That's the beauty of this site... we do not work for carriers, nor for the BB. So, we can be truly independent and share more that they would be allowed to share. But, keep in mind that everything we know is therefore not official (unless it is a public site, such as the database of BB KB). We are sure that we are right on these points, but being not "in it", we can't know with 100% certainty.

You're most welcome and good luck!

  • MEMORY SYSTEM classic blackBerry: Blackberry classic 'System' memory in environments; Storage and just access grows until the phone freezes

Ive had BB for over 10 years.

I'm recently on the new classic BB and had two combined in one week.  Both display the same problem - the system memory DEVELOPS itself...  Finally, when the combined system, applications and user files hits like 15 gb +, the phone crashes, stops working, wont work correctly or for example, open a text. This, coupled with the notifications of memory almost full system, remember to remove etc...

I have just 8 applications user, no responsible side. All applications (default Inc. those preinstalled I guess) total 730 mb, user files 38 MB.

The top off button seems to erase the memory of the system growing (but age), reducing back to between 2.8 and 3.5 GB, from where it slides up again...

I saw exactly the same problem reported in other threads and others, to my knowledge, none have found a cure, and there were a variety of possible reasons for questionable apps never put an end to calendars or sync for always emails...  I have a timing of 30 days and the handset prev I put this at 14, just in case, without success.  It seems that much of the problem gave up BB...

Ive spent hours on the phone with the help of BB, hours, days sat trying to sort with emails for the BB and it seems some suggestions are not better than ive already read in the many sons and ive visited forums.  It's like they know the problem but don't have any ideas...

Anyone who has met or experienced, what if a cure has been found?

Assuming that many do not have the problem, devrais I press on the other hand, third handset?   For the record, the current had no possible cross contamination, no switch of the device or to save plugs on the other, or the BB link, all started fresh and kept away etc. previous backup...

    Thank you.

If you can, please answer the questions numbered above. Knowing that the information will be, otherwise I would not have asked

Also, this: "by pressing the button of the top fopr the 3 seconds to turn off and then after a bit, by restarting using the same button" done little other than to turn the unit off and on again.

Do a restart appropriate in this way:
Reboot: The unit powered on, press in and hold the power button on top about 20-30 seconds, ignore the 3-2-1 timer and hold the button until the screen goes black and you see the red LED.
    or
Restart: With the unit on, keys on the volume of the edge side, press and hold both the up and down for about 20 seconds volume keys, ignoring the initial message of screenshot... the screen go black, reboot.

Try a reboot this way and let us know in a day or so how this growth of system memory only.

  • Security of Smartphones Gmail blackBerry BIS and gmail app

    Hi all

I have a few questions on the application of gmail (probably not in the right place) and using gmail on BIS (native client for bb so).

First of all I would like to know if the data I send bis thru using the configuration of the phone messaging is encrypted to the server, as far as I understand the route is blackberry ==> provider ==> BIS ==> google ==> BIS ==> provider ==> blackberry servers, now are my password and mails encrypted during all this? I mean is all encrypted even after she passed through bis?

Secondly, if anyone knows I would like to know how gmail don't (m.google.com/mail) about encryption enforcement, I see in its parameters always "use secure connection" which should mean its all encrypted according to political right google?

Finally, if I used the gmail (google) app would always need a BIS subscription or just an internet connection would be nice?

I want to know is that mail Blackberry can be a little more uncomfortable for me because of the connection is slow, but I still want to be sure, only I noticed, is that newspapers BIS on my account gmail (pretty normal tho).

I see this has been discussed in the past, but he has never been a definitive answer, and I think (not tried however) this package sniffing brings me one either.

    Thanks in advance

PS: I hope that you will forgive the noobness, relatively new to BlackBerry, and since my carrier offers mobile internet and BIS in separated packages, I am a little lost.
