  I installed the security update on my iMac at work and my MacBook Pro this morning (September 2, 2016). The MacBook Pro has no problems, but the iMac is in trouble. It restarts after installing the update and drops on the desktop, but it won't be open requests, saying they are damaged or incomplete. The viewfinder is VERY slow, taking a few seconds to open the windows. Is there a way I can reconstruct something to find my feature?

  I'm scrolling my Applications folder and all icons are generic. I can't start anything.

  If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal.   After updating my Macbook with security update 2016-001 and Safari 9.0.3 update the two Mozilla and Safari browsers are extremely slow. Some pages won't load at all. I tried to boot from a boot on an external hard disk drive before the updates and the browsers work, I tried to install El captain in Yosemite and the problem persists. I cleared caches and the problem still there. Does anyone else know this. Any ideas on how to fix this without reverting to an old copy of the Yosemite Backup?

  If you have any third party anti virus applications running uninstall them. Same for all the apps claiming to clean, driven, manage your computer.

  One of them will solve your problem of camera:

  (1) If your Mac restart does not solve the problem,

  (2) use http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 from Apple.

  (BTW - troubleshooting section called an "iSight" camera.  However, after that article was published, Apple has changed the name of the built-in camera on the recent "iSight" Macs "FaceTime", then "FaceTime HD."  Whatever the name of your built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

  Be sure to test several Apple app (photo booth, FaceTime, iMovie, QuickTime Player, etc.) in more than one user account.  Do NOT use the 'Guest' for this test account.  If you don't have more than one user account for testing, create one now.  If you need help, how is explained in http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201754.

  A 'Standard' user account is all you need for the tests.

  (3) If your camera will work correctly even with Apple applications, use OS X Recovery to completely reinstall your Mac OS since system recovery stored on your startup disk.  Don't bother test Skype or other 3rd party apps until you have your camera works with applications Apple.

  (4) If none of the suggestions above resolve your issue, contact Apple or one of the Apple-Authorized Service Provider to have your Mac professionally repaired. Don't forget to back up your Mac and Deauthorize iTunes before the call for tenders for the service.

  I don't think that this is malware, but a Windows problem... My internet is wobbly for these last two days, a lot of packet loss (pages only "" half load, some missing frames, etc.). Not sure if this is related, but it downloads the updates very well. It is not always the marker "35%".
