Security when using fingerprints to log on to a public wireless network

When you use the Iphone6 fingerprint sensor to connect to a public wireless network, can a hacker network intercept and replicate the fingerprint credentials?

    Hello

I m not an expert with this tool of fingerprints, but I noticed here in the forum that the relocation of the fingerprint software could help get rid of this problem.

According to the Web of Toshiba site, the new fingerprint software is version 5.8.0.4024.
You have installed? Otherwise reinstall the software of fingerprint and test it again.

  • When should I and how can I reset my wireless network?

If I have problems printing, why should I reset my network?

Most of us are well aware of the miracles that can happen to a simple reboot when you encounter computer problems.  Often, the same is true of wireless networks.  Over time the connections can become "cluttered" for lack of a better word.  A reset network will create a clean connection among the devices on the network and can often solve problems.

    When

Any time you experience problems printing with a wireless printer and:

    1. you have excluded material problems,
    2. the print queue is clear, and
    3. running the HP print and Scan Doctor did not help.

then reset the network should be very high on your to-do list, especially if the printer worked very well recently and now it isn't.

    How

    1. Shut down your computer (not restart).  If the computer tries to run updates, let that happens and wait for those finish.  For Windows 8 computers, hold down the "Shift" key when you click on the button 'stop '.  If you do not do this, the computer will go into hibernation and not to a full stop.
    2. Unplug all cables from the printer, including the power cord at the back of the printer when the printer is still on.  Unplug the other end of the power cord.  If there is a power supply on the power cord, disconnect one end.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the router for 20 seconds and plug it back.
    4. When the lights are on on the router, re - turn on the computer.
    5. When the computer is started to the top and you can access the Internet, plug the power cord into the power supply (if any), plug it directly into a wall socket (not a surge protector or battery backup), then again in the printer.
    6. When the printer powers back up, send a print job to the printer and see what happens.

Even if this does resolve the problem, you will have a better connection that will be good for troubleshooting more far.

  • Problems connecting to the internet using the wireless network connection

I can't connect to the internet using my wireless network connection. I had made the diagnosis and he stated that "the DHCP is not enabled for the wireless network connection. I had checked the DHCP, but it has been activated!... Someone would give any suggestion for me to solve the problem?

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type services.msc and press enter . Search The Client DHCP and check if it is enabled or disabled. If disabled then turn it on and see if the problem still persists or not.

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type cmd , and press enter . At the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and press ENTER. Now, check the IP address, default gateway, DNS etc. If you find all the information is correct, but you cannot yet access the Internet so if you connect the wireless network is secure or not. To determine the glance to the wireless network icon in the taskbar, then click on it. It will show you the available wireless networks. If there is a "yellow shield" present on the network icon, the network is not guaranteed, if there is no "yellow shield" does while the network is secure. In a secure network, you might have a "network security key. In this case try to disable the 'Network security key' option for this network. To do this:

Open Control Panel , click network and Internet , click network and sharing Center , click manage wireless networks on the left.

In the list select the wireless network and do a right click, select Properties, Security disable tab all options that is, in security type do not select no authentication (Open) and to the type of encryption , select none . You can also activate the automatic connection and SSID settings to further enhance connectivity, on the connection tab, click to select the "connect automatically if this network is in range " and "check boxesto connect even if the network is broadcasting his name (SSID) .

For more information click here and see how you can determine whether a network is secure or not.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-know-if-a-wireless-network-is-secure

If the problem still persists, then check your firewall settings and make sure that the firewall is not blocking your Internet connection. Some software Antivirus has a built-in firewall and they block by default all unknown connection to the tightening of security.

Try to restore Windows Firewall default settings. Open Control Panel click on network and Internet , click system and security , click Windows Firewall , click default settings .

Hope this will help. Thank you.

    Hello

I would update my laptop Tecra R850-1EP on windows 8.1, after an update of windows, I couldn't use the fingerprint to log my windows account.

When I'm in my session, the fingerprint will do its job, I can manage my fingerprints.

I already try to uninstall/install the fingerprint utility and drivers.

On the opening of the session, I don't have the logo of the fingerprint as as I 'can' t use

    Any idea?

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, I put t know exactly what's going wrong with the procedure of the fingerprint, but I guess that can be linked to the wrong update to Win 8.1
Probably, you have not exactly followed the update procedure that is recommended by Toshiba.

Here you can find the update to the Windows 8.1 EU Toshiba Web site:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

and here you can find the [Instructions step by step to update to Windows 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]

You must follow these steps exactly in order to get the laptop works properly.

That's why I recommend you put the laptop back to factory settings and repeat the whole update process once more after the + step by step Instructions.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Question about ACL's with the 2621 when using site to site VPN

I set up two site to site vpn. We have an ASA at our headquarters and branches will IOS routers - one is a 1811 and the other 2621. Both are running the latest versions of IOS, respectively. The two VPN site-to-site do not work. I have a list of inbound on the external interfaces of both routers, access that allows only the IP address of the ASA IP traffic. All other traffic is denied. I put NAT overload upward in the typical form, and I use ip outgoing inspection on the same interface, to allow incoming traffic back to surfing the internet. This configuration works very well with the 1811, where all traffic is blocked except traffic IP (IPSEC) coming from the ASA. Guests at our headquarters can reach hosts behind the 1811 and vice versa.

Here's my problem: the 2621 is processing traffic encapsulated on the external interface and block this traffic because it does not match. I know because when I turn on logging / debugging on the 2621, I see inbound traffic blocked by the ACL. Technically, I guess that it does not, but to this interface, the traffic is always encapsulated so I think it fits to this access list and then go to the Cryptography decapsulation card and be sent to the destination host. Just as it does on the 1811. I have not 'wan' t to create another line in the access list for all subnets to Headquarters. Why is not it works the same way as it does on the 1811? Is there something else I need to activate?

You should always be careful when you install extensions, not only for security reasons, but always with respect to the stability of Firefox.

Extensions, hosted on the site of the Add - ons were examined, unless otherwise stated and are generally safe for installation, but they remain third-party software developed by others (only a few are Mozilla and patches).

    Hello

    1. what operating system do you use?

2 did you change on your computer?

    3. who is your internet service provider?

If you use windows7, I suggest you to follow the steps from the links and check out.

  • I recently acquired a good/used Acer netbook. It had been used until I got it, and now when I try to attach it to my wireless network, he says, "no or limited connectivity. or "invalid IP addrsss.

I spent a few hours with people from Verizon (we actually gave a d *).  Although the computer says it's my problem with the service, technology at Verizon showed my several times that it is not their fault.  Acer will not accept a new IP address.  We went back and ordered the change, and he constantly relocated the old IP address.

The kicker is that he picked up on a little bit of info via the wireless, so I don't know that there is a possibility of service with this thing.

Any ideas?  Thank you for your help.

    Router is a model UltraLine Series3 9100EM

You explain what you mean by

"Acer will not accept a new IP address.  We went back and ordered the change, and he has systematically relocated the old IP address.

so the suggestions below can duplicate things you already have.

Please describe, in as much detail as you can, the steps you have taken and what happened.

What version of Windows XP, including the service pack is installed on the computer?

The IP address that is indicated in the information provided (169.254.213.152) indicates that the adapter wifi on your computer is NOT connected to your router.  Almost always, this problem is caused by an incompatibility between the security settings of the router (for example, the password or encryption key) and the wifi adapter settings.

By default, most provided by Verizon routers are configured with security basic 64 - bit WEP, WEP key wireless, printed on a label on the router.  It really is more appropriate wifi security... but before you can change it to something better, you have to connect to the router.

How you proceed from here depends of if you have other computers that work with the router, if you can connect to Acer to the router via an Ethernet connection, or if you have to assume that the router is configured with the default SSID (serial number) and its default WEP encryption key.  If you can access the router using Acer connected by Ethernet or another computer, you will be able to determine the current configuration of the security of the router and reconfigure it so that it uses a more secure wifi encryption.

So, do you have other computers connected to the router? Are wired or wireless connections? You can get the Acer to the router to connect with an Ethernet cable?

We consider (1) that you have Windows XP with service pack 3 installed, (2) that you have no other computers connected to the router, (3) you cannot connect Acer to the router with an Ethernet cable, and (4) the router is configured to use the serial number and the WEP key printed on a label on the router.  The WEP key will be 10 hexadecimal digits, for example, 4 44463747.

If one of the assumption 4 above is not correct, you might want to show returns with the additional information rather than follow the steps below (you can try anyway, but if the default router wifi security settings have been changed, they do not work).

    1. Go to the router, find the tag and copy the number series of the router (or SSID if specified) and the WEP key.
    2. Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    3. Right click on your wireless adapter icon and choose Properties
    4. Click the wireless networks tab
    5. Make sure the box at the top next to "use Windows to configure my wireless."
    6. In the list of "Preferred networks", select the entry for your router (this should be the serial number of your router) then click on remove.
    7. Click on the view wireless networks"" button.
    8. SSID of your router (serial number) should appear in the list of wireless networks.  Select it and click "connect". When you are prompted for the password, enter the WEP key that you copied to the label of the router.
    9. Open a web browser and confirm that you can access the Internet.  If you do not have Internet, type 192.168.1.1 in the browser address box and confirm that you get to the login page of the router.  Verizon may or may not have configured a router password; If a password has BEEN configured, it will be written down on some of the paperwork that Verizon has given you when the system has been installed.

Hi, I have problems with my PC (Windows Vista) mothers. Margot opened the narrator and now it starts automatically when it restarts or logs and new. How can she stop it? I tried msconfig but can't find it. It is very annoying as Margot does not use it and need to close whenever it connects. I tried everything to stop it in the help files.
Thank you for your time, Kaye Young... :)
