See 6.2 + Horizon Workspace 2.1.1

Hello

I have some problem with 6.2 and Horizon Workspace 2.1.1 view combination. I use my own certificate for both products. When I have an earlier version of view (see 6.1.), everything works fine.) After the upgrade to the latest version 6.2, I have red alert to the authenticator of SAML 2.0. He said: "the untrusted certificates". I use the SLA of Terena certificate. This certificate works in a previous version of view. If I click on check, he said verified successfully, but that a red alert is still on.

I tried to manually add CA for the connection to the server, but without result.

You have ideas, what is the problem?

Thank you

This problem has been fixed in the latest version of Horizon 6.2.1:

When you add an authenticator of SAML in administrator mode, a "Detected invalid certificate" window may appear, even if the URL of the metadata points to a certificate approved in the certification authorities folder roots approved in the Windows certificate store. This problem may occur when an authenticator SAML existing with a self-signed certificate using the same URL metadata when the trusted certificate has been added to the Windows certificate store.

Workaround solution:

  1. Delete all certificates approved for the metadata URL in the certification authorities folder roots approved in the Windows certificate store.
  2. Remove the SAML authenticator with the self-signed certificate.
  3. Add the certificate of trust for the metadata URL in the certification authorities folder roots approved in the Windows certificate store.
  4. Add again the SAML authenticator.

It is help for me

  • ThinApp provisioning mechanism with Horizon Workspace

    Hi guys,.

I would like to know the behavior of thinapp commissioning using Horizon Workspace in the senario below.

Say if the administrator allows a new ThinApp for 1000 users, would be Horizon Workspace has any manchanism to minimize the storm network (due to commissioning an application to a large amount of users at a time) for example by distributing the thinapp batch by batch? If so, what is the lot size (e.g. 10, 50, 100 users/lot)?

    Thanks in advance!

No, there is not such a function.

I don't see that as a huge problem for more than a 'pull' and 'push '.

  • questions to the vmware horizon workspace

    Hi guys

I implemented the vmware horizon workspace in my test environment. It works very well. but now I have two questions:

    1. is it possible to add storage smb from a windows file server to the device of data? I would like to automatically synchronize the directory on the file server windows with vmware view on appliance workspace data. and for all the users in my domain. (so I think that the vmware agent horizon is not the right tool for this action)

    2. is it possible to implement authentication twolayer? I use two layers for vmware view horizon in this workshop, but I can't find any documentation or the button for twolayer auth in the vmware horizon workspace

Thank you much for the help

    Kind regards

    Hello..

I'm glad you like what you see so far...

1 no, today it is not possible to add Windows shares data.

2 horizon 1.0 workspace supports RSA Secure ID for two-factor authentication.

  • Horizon Workspace Remote Authentication App

    Hello

I get the message inside my VDI-Horizon-Workspace of Win7 User Portal: "for safety, this remote application requires enter your username and password to start."  This isn't your RSA SecureID password. »

I have Kerberos enabled successfully using the secondary connector - goes for SINGLE sign-on, so when I run the "Open VMware Workspace web page" it authenticates me on my portal user automatically, but when I click on an icon of the hosted application I get the above message.  IF... I provide my credentials once I am able to launch applications of law for the duration of the browser session.  Once I have close this window/session and start another "web page opened workspace of VMware", I then repeat the process of supply credntials.

I'm under Horizon Workspace 2.0 with Horizon 6, settings policies, and authentication by default on the gateway - will (FQDN).  All SSL certificates are in place and trusts for the vApp/vCenter/view.  The time on the vApps/View/vCenter/RDSH/VDI are synchronized.  I have three hosted applications and everything works normally, once that submit the name of user and password or directly launched from the Horizon view Client.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

    Matt

This works as expected. You will need to provide your password once per session capable of launching of the resources of the Horizon (computers desktop and applications). As you connect to the portal and workspace using kerberos, you are being prompted to enter a password on the first launch of the Horizon resources. If you connect to the workspace portal using the name of user and password, you don't need to re-enter your password.

  • All VMware Horizon workspace

Hi, I have two questions about VMware Horizon Workspace.

I know, workspace can use the web application, but can someone tell me it's just like what type of application?

Another issue is that if I use the thin app, applications can be used in any device, when I use workspace?

For web applications, workspace can support applications that support SAML for authentication, such as Google Apps, Sales Force, Webex etc

ThinApps are designed to run only on windows desktop computers. They will not run on any device

  • Problem with HOL-MBL-1304 - Horizon Workspace - explore and deploy

    Hi guys,.

I'm in the lab of Horizon workspace.  Office of the Chief Executive, I tried to open the Horizon Web Page, but it is grayed out.  Instead, I clicked on the link to logon.  Horizon space me exploded with the following error:

"The service Horizon workspace is not available."  "Please try again later".

I tried to go through the web client to vCenter but jumped with an authentication error.

I tried to go through the portal of the entrance door but jumped with "a communication problem occurred.  Failed to load the page you want to view. 502 bad Gateway.

I ended up leaving the laboratory, re-registration and launch of a new laboratory.  Everything seemed to work OK except that the CEO was not automatically connected on workspace.

    Just a heads-up...

It is possible that you were connected to a laboratory 'cold', i.e. a laboratory that has just begun.  We try to keep enough with labs (pre deployed and running) so that everything is ready to go, but the HOL has been busy lately post VMworld.

Please give the lab a bit more time to warm up or try to take the lab again.  Wait a few minutes before resuming the same laboratory, however.

    Thank you!

  • ThinApps tests during capture and build process when you use Horizon Workspace

    Hello

We are about to make a client implementation of Horizon Workspace with about 40 ThinApps we still have for packing

When we package apps, during the NBC process we will include the Horizon in the package.ini parameters

    AppID
    HorizonOrgUrl

    VersionID

After that we capture the app that we will then have a test PC to test the ThinApp to ensure it works before it is added to the repository ThinApp and having created rights. However the ThinApp will not work because there is no entry of right in the workspace for even and the application displays the error message.

How Pack applications and test them before you configure the workspace? Or can't we? It must create all the ThinApps, download them to the repository, wait for the workspace to scan them, create rights, then test?

Also when we update an application using the AppID same and incrementing the VersionID value, the tester will be able to test this on their PC to test before upload to the repository Horizon ThinApp or the user will get the same error message horizon? We don't want to postpone until it has been tested. Or is it possible to use the old method of entire update where we keep the same .exe entry point and just update the dat a.1 file? This will break the Horizon integration?

    Thank you

This allows ease of Management Horizon Workspace does not change behavior of the package. This is why I would recommend to run tests without activating the Horizon Workspace manageability. There is no way to run a ThinApp package with Horizon Workspace manageability enabled without Horizon Agent installed locally and having the right.

Once the tests have been completed, you can enable manageability Horizon workspace by changing the package.ini or by running relink.exe - h.

Same thing about the update of test blocks. Check the functionality without manageability Horizon active workspace and turn manageability Horizon Workspace.

  • VMware View Horizon Workspace (credentials invalid SAML)

I get this error for access to a desktop computer using Horizon Workspace...

Failed to launch the desktop view. Please contact your administrator for help (credentials invalid SAML).

You know the solution to this problem?  Thank you

Connect to VC and check if all vms and notice Broker Vms VAPP they are invited with the host time synchronization.

VM > Settings > Options > VMware Tools > synchronize the time of comments with the host.

This should take care teenager derivatives.

  • Horizon Workspace Windows client unnecessary synchronization errors

Client Windows Workspace horizon shows me useless and incorrect synchronization errors, this happens usually when I copy several new files in my folder of the Horizon. When I check the status of the files the Client workspace reported as having failed to sync they are on the server of the workspace very well, but I see always message 'file doesn't have a sync.."and <>! alarm at the top of the icon of the status bar bar Horizon.

    Horizon_Sync_Error.png

In this case synchronization error message is caused by the directory entry itself, but all files sync very well. These errors must be cleaned automatically if the customer's re - synchronizes and he succeeds, current behavior causes a lot of confusion among end users and it will result in unnecessary calls to the help desk. Please fix this.

From the workspace 1.5 I no longer see problems of synchronizing with the Windows client, so that this problem has been fixed.

  • Horizon Workspace and Windows desktop

I have an interesting dilemma.  I have installation space horizon with an external database running on vFabric Postgre and an external load balancer to move traffic from the outside.

I am able to connect to go to and connect you to the workspace with my devices apple (iPad Mini, iPhone, etc) but I can't navigate the site workspace with desktop windows of the WAN.  I'm not reaching the site workspace at all, I get the standard "this webpage is not available" in Chrome.

I'm assuming that my firewall rules are configured correctly since apple devices have been working for the WAN.  I have an iPhone that connects just over 3 G. I think that this could be linked to the load balancer, which is the open source Zen load balancer.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

Obtained through this on my own.  Windows authentication was causing the problem, disable it allowed windows to connect office.  Try to pinpoint the cause.  It's all types of news.

  • vmWare Horizon Workspace - change port number

    Hi guys,.

I installed the workspace vmware horizon as a proof of concept, everything works fine. I'm now doing the public gateway. The problem which is the port number (443) that uses the bridge can be put on the public because he is facing some of our other things. I wonder since everything is installed and working properly, what would be the proper way to change the GATEWAY port number?

    Thank you

Unfortunately, in 1.0, we do not allow change the port number.

Will you be able to move to 1.5? Then, allow us to change the COMPLETE domain name and port.
