See appeal of latency?

First of all, let me say I'm sorry if this question has already been answered or if this isn't the right place to post this question. I looked around a bit and can't seem to find good answers.

I was wondering if there is a way to see the time of latency, or other specifications, a call that you are in. Also if there is a way to make Skype completely close when I hit the red X that is supposed to close an application. Thank you for your time!

When in a call, call-> technical information call open.

  • Windows Vista, the network latency got bad

Yesterday, I changed the network router on my Windows Vista (edition Home premium) and this led me to run some of the internet speed test sites.  I see high network latency on the network speed available test sites.  The download speed is very good, but my network on my Windows Vista system latency time increased from 19 ms to about 500 ms.  It is quite a big change (X 25), so I'm a little worried about it.  I don't think that it is a router problem because I also have a Windows XP system that is connected to the router, and he still sees about 19 ms network latency.  Just to be sure, I changed the system of Windows Vista and Windows XP system router ports, and the latency of each system has not changed, so I don't think that it is a router problem.

I think so the network on Window Vista system stack has been damaged in some way, and I'm looking for help to repair.  My first thought was the restoration of the system, but I can't go far enough to make it useful.  The only system restore point that I currently have (for some reason any) yesterday, and it shows the same 500 ms of latency of the network on the Windows Vista system.
Can someone help me to troubleshoot or fix this problem?
    Thank you very much.

Well, one of those moments of "Doh!" ... found another article on the internet, this time, it gives an idea for my system... I was using Chrome 3.0 as my browser when I ran network speed sites that gave me the time of high latency, with that I was worried.  I found that my time of network latency on Vista, as measured by Firefox 3.5.3 is about 19 million, and for IE8 is about 10 MS, which both are very good.  My conclusion therefore is that Chrome 3.0 marked the beginning of a new era of the network latency that is bad for me.  Or maybe it's Eset Nod32, antivirus, it does not matter (when I turned Nod32 which made no difference to the number of Chrome, well off)...

I had no idea that Chrome 3.0 was this badly inconsistent with everything that he fights with on my computer Vista, but I don't need because I have a couple of other browsers which are very good.

    Interesting, even when...

  • At what level is the store of data latency measured?

    Hello

I have a question about latency of data store. I see that, generally, 20 to 30 ms latency limit before having the performance issue, but at what level is this limit? It is the seat of the latency of the VM? See vsphere?...

In Vcops, when I select a data store and access operation - details see read/write latency: see comments AVG or device AVG? (see image below)

    Latences_Datastore.jpg

When I select a VM in Vcops to see the latency time "of virtual machine", what is the difference between latency vDisk and the VM latency data store?

    Latences_Datastore_2.JPGLatences_Datastore_3.JPG

I know there are a lot of questions in one thread, thank you in advance to those who take the time to answer.

As esxtop counters, you have different counters to measure different parts of the stack. If you have latency at a disk level your queues will be filled and reflected. Latency of disk order is good enough to pick up underlying storage latency, but it depends what resource you are watching. The attributes derived from 'latency' exist here and there which are calculated based on the type of storage/etc to simplify your life and give you one place to search.

When you start to look at the latency of the queue, you must keep in mind that focuses only on the queue. Take a look at the Duncan article (ESXTOP - bricks yellow) on it and your questions will probably be kept clear with regard to what are the bits/s and for the disk counters.

  • Write the Bootdisk SATADOM latency problem

    Hi people,

I have a Supermicro Microcloud Pseudo-lame 8 Server identical blades, each installed with ESXi 5.5 on an edge D150QV Innodisk SATADOM (32 GB), with associated default datastore1 (about 24 GB) that has no virtual machine. A blade is a problem with strange writing with the SATADOM latency, and I wanted to ask if people have seen this behavior before, and if I should be worried about the SATADOM SSD life expectancy.

Currently, I see a 3ms latency of writing on datastore1 quasi-continuite according to viclient, and goes esxtop shows that there are 3 commands/s beating enough regularly to screw with the graph of viclient into thinking there is a continuous 3ms latency of writing. Most of the commands is concentrated in LVAD rather than KMOY. I don't see this behavior in other blades configured identically, which have probably SATADOM from the same manufacturing batch.

and I think I found the problem earlier...

He had a record of vmkdump VMFS on datastore1 with a file in use. Marking this unused file stopped this nonsense. See the forum for more information

    https://communities.VMware.com/thread/460089

basically make sure the dump partition is active and mark the inactive dump file.

  • Error when you try to view the application latencies

I'm not able to get see Planner to latencies report application series of tests with multiple virtual machines in them. If I run a test that has 3-2 VMs in it while I'm able to view the results of the trial very well, however when I try to run tests with more of that I get errors when I try to view the results. When I try to load the web page results to see Planner, nothing happens, and I get the following error in viewplanner.log:

I just ran a test locally with 276 VMs, according to viewplanner.log, all 276 VMs transferred their results to the device. Yet I still get this error when you try to view the results.

I tried to create new images GoldenDesktop and GoldenClient, as well as deployed a new device see Planner and reinstalled all of its agent programs, nothing helps. Anyone know what could be the cause?

We have seen this issue for large series and I attach a patch file that you can overwrite the/root/ViewPlanner harness directory and then restart the vdiappd service, and then you can give it a try.

For manual results extratcion by using the report.pyc script, you must use '-j' I ' and '-j' operations if you ran just 1 iteration of the workload.

  • Flow control and Jumbo Mtu

    Hello

I have a Dell document "Win-Hyperv-2012OS-Config". He asserts that before installing the kit EQL HIT, we have to configure network (tool of Broadcom Advanced Configuration Suite (BINS)) as:

    Option

    Value

    Flow control

    Rx & Tx active

    Jumbo Mtu

    9014

Is it worth for native Windows 2012 grouping configuration?
Now I see MTU is configured 1500 on all cards, has it be changed and why?

    Thank you

You use grouping of NETWORK adapters on a Windows host storage EQL. You can see odd behavior and errors when trying to write to a volume and have only one connection (because THINGS that there is only one card NETWORK).

Under the special workloads and environments a MTU of 9000 (Jumbo) * can * give you better performance. For sure, you will see a higher latency.

You must configure your pSwitch first, and then the driver/NIC in the host operating system.  The EQL use JumboFrames automatically if the initiator connects successfully with a MTU of 9000. See the 'reports' in the EQL GroupManager tab. Hold the mouse on one of the initiator of connection messages and look at the end of the line.

    Kind regards

  • How to dial directly to an IP address (point to point a.k.?) of the Codec C40

We are looking to replace old Polycomm and Tandberg units with a telepresence C40 faithful.  On old Polycomm and Tandberg units, we can simply enter the endpoint IP address and connect.

This unit of C40 has been attached to a CUCM and worked through their guardian.  We have done a factory reset the device, so we can move our network IP "Naked" in an accessible IP address.  However, we cannot make calls: it simply says 'Connection' and is there, doing nothing.

Troubleshooting-> Diagnostics Web page, said "the call by default protocol is set to Auto, but the system is not registered on this Protocol".

I guess the C40 can direct an IP address as our previous Polycomm and Tandberg units?

Should what settings I use as the DefaultCall Configuration?  For the moment, it is 'auto '.

    In Configuration H323 I;

    NAT
    Set to Off.

    Profile 1
    CallSetup in direct mode
    PortAllocation the dynamic value

    Authentication
    LoginName
    is empty
    Set to Off
    Password is empty

On the System Configuration in SystemUnit page I ContactInfo Type set to Auto.

I don't know what I should put in E323Alias.  I guess it can be left blank?

Help set up for direct IP point to point my calls really appreciated.

    Hi juddernaut,

These forums seem a little foires right now and you have posted double https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12137686/how-dial-direct-ip-a... (made it myself, because they take an age to the answer). I would like to delete the other post.

Set the configuration of appeal to force H.323.

The E.164 alias is a number as an extension system, but unless you have a doorman with dial plan of this won't be necessary and can be left blank. However, its value put something in the name of the system box so that the other side can see appealed.

You should be able to dial via direct IP - I suspect his tent to dial via SIP and failing. Forcing them to use H.323 should do the trick.

  • Drivers Intel P3700 for VSANS?

I worked with our VMWare team to design a VSAN out and it included some Intel P3700 PCIe cards like the layer flash supported by about 1.2 TB of Seagate sas disks 10 k for storage.  Unfortunately, even of the P3700 disappeared not on the HCL, and I am currently "chasing my tail" with latency, and i/o pending.  I opened a SR, but recommended for the H730 drivers do not seem to do anything.  And I'm fairly certain that's not the issue (deactivation does not seem to be a problem).  I understand that the P3700 didn't HCL yet, but it is still ongoing and so many white papers were written with this card as part of the architecture.

    It's all running VMWare 6. 0 b (VMware ESXi 6.0.0 build 2494585 on hosts)

    Material:

    -From r630 Dell (30)

    -2 x Intel P3700 400 GB Flash cards (driver intel-nvme - 1.0e.1.1 - 1OEM.550.0.0.1391871.x86_64.vib)

    -10 x 1.2 TB SAS of Seagate 10 k disks

-H730 Dell RAID controller in HBA mode with cache is disabled, etc. (drivers for this were something to worry about, but since I assume that the first writings go directly to PCIe cards, I don't think that's the question long - firmware 25.3.0.0016 pilot 6.606.12.00)

    -Intel X 710 with DAC 2 x 10 Gb connections

    -4 x Juniper QFX5100 10 GB switches (15 r630 by 2 switches, scaling up to 30 servers in 2 past later)

SAN traffic exceeds 2 uplink (with uplink 1 standby), everything else is plus 1 uplink (with uplink 2 as before)-working on a plan to spend LACP, but it is still under construction

The current workload is very low.  It is only about 6 Production VM running on that cluster to the repositories of the project and kicking the tires, with the idea that 500-1000 VM will be launched upward in the coming months.  For the majority of virtual machines, the performance is not essential, but some of the problems I see currently are a bit a showstopper.

    Problems:

If I run "bonnie ++ u root" on a virtual machine single, I can see the latency time to go up to 65, 000ms (Yes, really 65 k ms) and the virtual machine is basically responding (100% iowait and very rarely is able to write i/o because of the huge latency).  The write buffer is never very full during this period (stuck at 30% and deactivation does not start even during the race.)  Similar issues occur ATTO Disk Benchmark running on a windows system with a disk queue high (4 seems to be well, 10 kills of the VM)

I can get very high write speeds (500 - 800 MB/s or more), but as soon as the latency time leapt to a few 100 ms, it's all downhill.

Even with a fairly simple recording VM with all our guests directed to these, I get occasional spikes of latency (1400ms +, with an average of 15ms, which seems high even).  This box just works a lot of entries to logstash and a hint of elasticsearch with occasional when bed kibana someone shows something.

Y at - it no rider special I read somewhere for the P3700 Intel?  Another thing that I really should look into?  I'm tired of chasing my tail and want to start the actual load of the migration to this new cluster.  I tried RAID0 on a small cluster of 4 boxes, but that wasn't much better and is much more boring.

I use the 1.6 and 2.0 TB P3700 cards in my VSAN without problem. I have a similar setup, except using r730xd, the same with the same firmware + drivers raid card, also on 6. 0b. When I originally put in place, I could see peaks of latency high 200-400 + ms, it was resolved by updating the drivers of NETWORK card for me. I use a NIC (Intel X 540 - AT2), different, but the firmware upgrade + the driver for my NIC brings my latency ~ 3ms avg and blip occasional peak at ~ 15ms. Probably worth to update any firmware on your X 710 and use the appropriate driver on VMWare HCL VMware Compatibility Guide: search for i/o device

I've also seen really bad latency problems out of network configuration problem. In our case that we had a link to 1 GB failover in case our 10 GB failed, but instead things are started to be load-balanced and performance/latency was very poor until we noticed that the 1 GB has been fully utilized.

Also try to use the Inbox NVME driver, I ran on it without problem before Intel released the driver 1.1 you use now. In my limited testing, Intel drivers are slightly faster performance but nothing majorly different.

  • Virtual MACHINE disk SSD and SATA III?

    Hello

I am building a new workstation tech support and will greatly appreciate your advice:

In short, I am migrating from a 92 GB 32-bit Win7 with the only platform of RAM 4 GB, for a Win8 - 64 bit with 32 GB of RAM platform. From experience, I know that it will take months of "free time" until I can complete installation, configuration, data migration and upgrade of all Win8 software I need to run my business on a daily basis. In terms of continuity of activity for the moment, my way of thinking is to:

    Install a fresh Win8 64-bit in a C: partition of 125 GB on a new 250 GB SSD.

Create logical partition D: on the remaining 125 GB SSD.

I'll then P2V old Win7 on a new VM VMware on the D: partition.

BTW, I'm not looking for methodology on the mechanics of the P2V here, because it is beyond the scope of this post and I know how to do this with the VMware products and 3rd party utilities.

    This should help:

    1. gradually get the host physical Win8 upward and entirely configured at my convenience, being able to continue to run Win7 in the VM for my daily activities.

    2. enjoy benefits and features of productivity which offers VMware Workstation on the competition.

    3. enjoy the impressive speed expected to have the VM Win7 on an SSD.

    4. several months from now when I need is more VM Win7 for daily activities, move the VM Win7 off the SSD (more than one pin SATA III), delete the D: partition out of the SSD and resize the partition of Win8 to use any DSS.

If I do the migration of this way, Win8, I can do (part 3) full backups / incremental of Win8 C:partition and partition D: Win8 (which holds the VM Win7), the image separately as an activity based on required on these partitions. Yes, with the stop of the VM or suspended of course during imaging of 3rd party partition.

    The $64 questions are therefore:

    5. the sound that precedes like a plan?

    6. or, it would be better to just install Win8 on the SSD of 250 GB of space (with VMware Workstation installed of course) and put the VM Win7 on the pin SATA III that contains my other virtual machines? My 3rd party software Imaging allows full/incremental file, so I could just save the VM Win7 directory on this axis. I can see potential disk latency issues in this scenario, if I have the old VM Win7 running and at the same time also work on (for example) two guests Windows Server of pre-production with a few guests of Win7/Win8 (to test ERP software or question MSSQL). There are five virtual machines running on this SATA III 7200 RPM spindle.

Sorry, that was so long. I look forward to your thoughts and comments.

    Kind regards...

Personally speaking I use the SSD together as a single partition and have a low spindle drive where you can run your file exchange and the VM, it would be different if you were running multple VM and wanted that they have spun fast and enjoyable, but as it's a loophole to stop until you get all migrate by then I don't see why you want to divide the SSD.

My MSI laptop has 2 SSD mSATA, the operating system of the House and a brooch my VM and file exchange and tbh I don't suffer at all with performance, I even was called to run virtual machines running (plural) from a device USB 3 instead.

  • Disk i/o

Hello, I just take on an environment VMware VSphere, there are a few points I'd like to share here.

Sometimes a BD Oracle becomes slow. This comic is installed on a Windows 2008 R2 virtual machine. I looked in disk performance and sometimes the time of this disc comes to 500 ms I think it's a longer time.

so... I'm afraid that this structure of connections beetwen VMware Hosts (there are two in cluster) and the storage is not also be recommending.

There is only an ISCSI SAN connection between each VMware host and storage. each host has 12 VMs.

What do you think only a connection with storage? It is little? If I put more than one connection for each VMware host maybe I'll feel more speed!

    Thank you

You will need to know where is the latency. Where you see the 500ms latency?

In addition, check the SCSI communication errors registers vmkernel, sometimes the problem is in a bad cable/switch port.

  • 15-20 time of latency to see the changes in analog inputs

I inherited a program extremely complex.  I find that I see 15-20 seconds latency on the changes to the analog inputs.  I can't post the code - (it has more than 200 sub screw) but I have captured the relevant section in the long latency period of the changes.jpg of analog input attached.

I tried to change the sampling rate and see the same problem from 1 Hz to 25 Hz (limit of reliable sampling with this PC).  I'm looking at indicators which are directly related to the acquisition of data Read.vi as evidenced by the big red arrow.

I modeled the nested struct in the template attached without latency problems.jpg.  There is no perceptible latency but it duplicates the nested structures.

The only thing not shown is that there are several cases of Read.vi of data acquisition using the same physical changes but not of them are in the loops that need to run at the same time.

The data are consistent with the entries, just delayed.

The Signal processing device is a USB-6343.  I am running these screws on LabVIEW 2011 edition.

    Any ideas?

Yes, instead of getting just 1 sample buffer, try to get all the samples.

Then you can retrieve the most recent example of all the samples you get and take the rest of them.

Or you can change the configuration of taks for only once every time that you call the read function.

  • How can I see duration of appeal?

I can't find any option to see time calls.

In version 1.3, it is correct. Since this version, more information on the call in the call logs have been implemented. Updates with these changes will depend on the carrier and OEM.

  • There is Airfoil and Airport Express, latency/delay time?

I want to be able to direct the output of my iMac "end 2014' 5K (10.11.6) on my stereo system (ParaSound P3/A23) using AirFoil 5 with Airport Extreme > Airport Express."

But the audio output should be "real time." in other words, no delay or latency at all. Both are in the same room!

I use notation software (Sibelius) and need to hear what I write immediately. Unlike streaming where I think there is an acceptable delay (2 seconds?) for the buffering?

    Is this possible please?

If it isn't with AirFoil, any advice on how welcome :-)

I want to be able to direct the output of my iMac "end 2014' 5K (10.11.6) on my stereo system (ParaSound P3/A23) using AirFoil 5 with Airport Extreme > Airport Express."

With AirPlay (or Bluetooth), there will always be a form of delay or latency with streaming audio.

In this scenario, an audio stream (on AirPlay) will go first to your iMac to AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express Terminal.

To help understand why there will be delays, let's look at high-level "behind the scenes" about how works AirPlay:

For the AirPort Express (AX), audio input is provided mainly by iTunes. Of course, it can also get feedback from other sources as you know, as of Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil.

For streaming, iTunes or wing does most of the work. What is app reads audio content standard (AAC, MP3, audio books, Internet music streams, etc., it decompresses these file formats and creates what is essentially a raw, uncompressed audio stream.) This stream is compressed using Lossless Compression of Apple (via a QuickTime codec), encrypted with AES 128 bits and then listened (airplay) with an AXE. The stream is buffered for about 2 seconds until the stream is sent. The AX deciphers the flow, decodes and exports in a digital or analog PCM (using a built-in DAC) flows to its audio analog-to-digital versatile optical port.

So, with the above, you can see that the tone does not simply move source to the destination without much more things. You will not be able to entirely eliminate the delay. Sorry!

  • AEBS latency problem

    Hi all

Recently I had a problem of serious latency with my 6th Gen Airport Extreme (model AC), which happens on the wired devices and connected wireless is not a wireless issue.  I tried a number of things to eliminate this problem... Rebooted the modem cable, restarted the AEBS, reset the AEBS to factory settings, downgraded the firmware as it seems to have started shortly after the 7.7.7 update, made sure that I wasn't sharing WIFI channels with the neighbors... None of these fixed the issue.  Just to make sure that it wasn't my access provider or the Internet in general having a bad week, I pulled out my old Netgear router, have everything connected to it and the latency problem disappeared.  I used it for a few days to make sure.  I have also connected my old Gen 4 AEBS and still no latency. I hooked the 6th Gen AEBS upward and returned latency, so I don't know what the source of the problem.  I tried to adjust some settings, but since this is the case for the cable connections and wireless, I guess it's more a hardware problem a matter of possible interference.  I have probably travelled all the troubleshooting steps, but thought I'd throw it out there when even to see if anyone else had any suggestions.

As a side to this note, I'm having a specific problem specific wireless.  Quite regularly, the individual devices are slowed to a crawl.  That is, for the moment my iPhone is listed as having a connection 802.11a/n/ac to 433Mbps, but after a while (sometimes hours, sometimes days), it will be reduced to 1 MB/s 802.11b/g/n.  One.  Although I am less than 10 feet from the router by means of a direct line of sight.  This also happens to my iPad, MacBook, iMac, actually all devices using a wireless connection.  The only way to remedy this is to reboot the router, restart the individual device doesn't fix it.  I got to the point of having to manually restart the router one or two times a week to make sure that everything is connected.  Products like Apple WIFI had some kind of keep alive or scheduled reboot setting.  Again, any thoughts?

    Thank you.

A few things come to mind:

    1. A number of Internet service providers began to role over IPv6.
    2. A possible incompatibility between the modem and your AirPort base station. Specifically, if you have an Arris / Motorola SB61XX-series modem.
    3. Your base station is defective.

We can try to help with any part of these elements.
