See Security servers in a cloud Pod Architecture

Hi all

Maybe someone can help me clarifing a gray area in a Pod Architecture cloud.

I know that if I have POD - A SITE - a and B - POD in SITE B, with overall right I can negotiate an internal user, connecting from SITE-a to a virtual office in the SITE-B.

Is the same thing applies when users connect from the internet? I have a security for A SITE server and one for the SITE-B, can I assume that a user who connects to the internet via the SITE-can be integrated in a virtual office in the SITE-B? In other words, is Security Server in the SITE-A capable of digging for connections to virtual desktops from SITE-B?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, that's correct. the SS are paried with a CS, but once you have connected to the broker, it can B the WEBSITE Office of channel on the rear channel and present it to the external client site has.

    Hello

We are running Horizon view 6.0.1 on both sites using cloud Pod Architecture (CPS), which means a Horizon view Pod with two connection to the server per site. We use desktop full Clone with dedicated missions and now we have identified the need to assign a specific office for a specific user. This can easily be done using the Pod via the office made rights a right click and select assign to users.

We are only using the global rights to enjoy the meaning of CPA, we cannot right click on the desktop and select Assign User user since the user doesn't have a local right Pod.

Is it possible to assign the user to a specific office in the overall use of rights?

    Thank you.

I have not tried to confirm it would definitely work, but I don't see why it wouldn't work if you are comfortable using the command line.  On one of the brokers on the pod where the Office was created, use the command (with names appropriate for pool, machine, and user):

    vdmadmin-L dtpool1 d m u CORP\Jo computer2

The documentation of Administration for Horizon view provides more details on this.

  • Cloud of Pod Architecture and load - single entry Point balancing

    Hello

I'm looking at our DR put in place for our view environment and Cloud Pod Architecture seems to be the way to go. A question that has popped up and I couldn't get a definitive answer about whether it is possible to use the load balancing of certain aromas to maintain a single point of entry into the environment seen. I would be able to have a connection to the server discovers in A Pod and a login server in View Pod B and then stick a load balancer at the front so that users always connect through load balancing and view.domain.com, they will hit either login server? Would it not possible to use a Windows NLB for that?

What I want to achieve is to build a second Pod from view in a different geographical location to complete our game existing upward at our headquarters. This new Pod will be alive and actively used instead of a traditional DR implemented whereby all will sit dormant until the sh * t hits the fan. We maintain a single point of entry into the environment and the user gets negotiated at their office floating Linked Clone correct, be it in A Pod or B. Pod

    I hope that makes sense.

Of the questions let me know.

    Yes, it is definitely possible.

We currently have a configuration of global namespace for internal and external access.  It appeared linked to a VIP we have on our load balancing programs (Radware currently).  This VIP points to our real servers on both sides.

Then, we focus on Cloud Pod Architecture configuration dedicated or floating pools.  People can connect and hit one side or both.

If you leverage GTM or Global Traffic Manager (Smart DNS Round Robin), she may ask the weight or restrictions so when people only struck one side of your data centers until he is not available and then it hits the other side.

Do not forget that the Volumes of App and RDS Apps are not supported, just virtual offices.

We currently have two pods between two sites, take advantage of cloud pod and built infrastructure in duplicate for each site to be isolated and independent.

We focus also on DFS - R on Windows File Services to ensure that the data are replicated and synchronized between the two locations.  Then with the use of DFS Namespace we weight each side sort users to the Site a success files on file to the Site Services and vice versa.

F5 also has an edition of Big - IP virtual that will work great and deploy GTM, LTM (Load Balancing) and MPA (Access Policy Manager) to work on both internal and external access for you.

  • Problem architecture Cloud POD horizon 6

    Hello

I set up a Federation Pod in my environment on-prem and joined another POD on another site, made of global rights, added the pool inside and set rights to security groups. I tested it on internal network, everything works fine. I see the pools named as global rights and I can connect as I have it configured the scope of the right. It's simple works. But as soon as I log in from the outside, I also see my rights, but I can't connect to RDP and PCoIP desktop computers. I can connect to it when I log on the servers of security on every site, but not on my pod of Federation on premise. I don't know what's wrong. I got a VPN IPsec tunnel between the two parties without network restrictions. Any idea is welcome.

    regards david

OK... found my own number. Security servers are located in the demilitarized zone are ofc. not included in the IPSEC tunnel between the internal networks of the two sites.

  • See the installer with home security servers?

So, I'm trying to set up a test environment to familiarize themselves with it and have everything works on my single host through my home network (FiOS). It is that I want to install a security server and try to connect from another location to Office pools that I set up. I thought it would be good practice. But all I have is my modem that connects to a switch that connects my host and my pc. The modem has a built in firewall.

Anyone tried this before? Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Install your VSS (view Security Server) and pair it with your VCS (see connection to the server), note: security server must not be a member of the AD, but he needs the name resolv VCS

    2. Add your security on your VCS Server (Configuration-Server-security servers-Add)

      1. Name: call it what you want

      2. External Url: /< external_hostname >. < votre_domaine >: 443

    3. Click "Create the Configuration file" and save this file on the server of security under C:\Program VMware View\Server\sslgateway\conf\locked.properties (Yes youhave to rename the config.properties to locked.properties)

    4. Restart the service "VMware View Security Server"

    5. Configure your router to route external_ip:port_443 to vss_internal_ip:port_443

    That's all

Note: You only must not check the box "Direct connection to the desktop" configuration of the VCS

When I run Microsoft Fix it, it says I have no firewall; so I see Security Essentials and everything is GREEN. Why is this?

    * original title - I have Microsoft Security Essentials? *

Good news is THAT MSE is showing protection is enabled and given that you do not receive notification of Security Center advising the firewall is not enabled it can be assumed that it is enabled. Bad news is that I don't have an answer. You have any other real time protection(Avast, AVG, etc.) currently installed? What, if any, previous protection in real time of programs have been installed and they did include a firewall? You made using tools and methods to remove properly uninstall completely?

Since it is a problem Microsoft Fix it I suggest you consider posting your question in the fix it Center Forum.

Yes, you do.  The system works as multimaster, so once you have another server in it, which runs the infrastructure without any problems

  • See Security Server network traffic

Can someone clarify some confusion that I have with the view security server. I looked different diagrams of network ports and protocols, and I want to understand how the network connectivity outside to an internal network via a security server is managed.

I know that a connection is initiated externally on the Security Server, and it is then passed to a connection to the server that authenticates the user, then allocates a desktop computer. At this point, the external client connects directly on the desktop of the view.

However, I see some diagrams where the above happens, but the connection from the external client to view desktop is managed by the Security server.

In the environment, lack of network traces that I see the first instance and view desktop computers trying to communicate through the firewall to the external client. Currently, they are blocked by the firewall and connections are not established.

How do other people see what is happening?

You are right that the customer view connects to view security server to authenticate and this authentication traffic is passed to the view of the login server that manages the actual authentication (for Active Directory and possibly RSA SecurID or RADIUS etc.). If this authentication is successful, then the Office Protocol traffic is allowed through the Security server. Any traffic Protocol Office which is not in the name of an authenticated user is blocked. As security server is usually deployed in a demilitarized zone, then Security Server provides protection for virtual desktops and presenters RDS to make sure they are not exposed directly to the Internet.

It is possible to configure the Security Server view so that it does not act as the gateway for this Office Protocol traffic, but when it is used to provide remote access from the Internet, it is recommended that protocols of office go through the Security server in order to obtain this protection.

The Office protocols include PCoIP, Blast, redirect RDP, ROR, USB, remote printing etc..

There is a description of the remote to access the view here https://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14974 environments that covers traffic flows.

If you have set things up to protocols route Office via the Security Server, you can still see the first attempts from the virtual office to try to send UDP PCoIP packets directly to the client, but you don't have on those they do not. As soon as the component server PCoIP desktop virtual sees security server incoming UDP packets, it sends the answer UDP datagrams on the Security Server and everything will work as expected.

    I hope this helps.

    Help

Hallo, I want to test after that effects I downloaded the file and instaled creativ-cloud but it doesent sossou sequelae pls help out me

The usual reason is that After Effects is 64-bit only and requires a 64-bit computer and operating system.

If you run 32-bit Windows, you may not download, install or run After Effects so you see not available for download in the cloud.

    See http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#getting-started

What desktop applications in Creative Cloud require 64-bit operating systems?

With the new CC, audio and video applications in most applications pro now requires 64-bit operating systems to run. These native 64-bit applications include Adobe first® Pro CC, Adobe Audition®, After Effects® CC, CC, prelude® CC, and SpeedGrade® CC. Flash Professional CC, CC of Photoshop and Lightroom® must be 64-bit on Mac OS.

  • Need a list of ports and servers accessible via cloud creative and application manager

I'm not either of these work programs for our graphic designer and they work very well for her at home. The only difference is our corporate firewall. For the life of me I can't find a complete list of the ports and servers accessed by these programs and really need the information as soon as possible. I use a Fortigate unit and do not really have a lot of filtering on at all, and we're not blocking internal to external traffic somehow. There is really no reason why they should not work already, but a correct list of resources used would be a good start to help me solve problems.

    Thank you.

  • See Security with smartcard Auth Server

Guys I'm at a bit of a stand still with my Horizon 6 deployment and I am hoping to get assistance.  I have a connection to the server running on the network 10.0.244.x, works very well with smart card authentication.  I have a security server in the demilitarized zone, which connects to the server connection on the allowed ports and that seems fine.  However, I can not connect to the Security Server (which is on the 172.14.x.x network just for reference) via the smart card.  I just get the error "smart card authentication is required."  I'm forcing smart card authentication, so the error is not bad, but I can't understand what prevents security server passing the credentials of card chip to connect to the server.  I cut and paste excerpts from newspapers below to help I hope:

When I had this problem, I had not set up the file locked.properties on the Security server.  I also made the mistake of not showing files in Windows Explorer extensions, while it looked like locked.properties, it was locked.properties.txt.

  • Brushes to see the in my creative cloud library, but I can not load in the office psd programs or

I did so that they are compatible with the desired program (as opposed to being only useful to the sketches of adobe, etc.), but I cannot yet access. Help please!

    Hi JFine,

I have a feeling that you might be looking for them in the wrong place. When you open a work plan in Dixit or CC of Photoshop, you should see the brushes in the libraries Panel. I have attached an image (ignore the fact that my brushes is all grayed out; they are saved for Sketch) which shows where to get them. Is it in the same place you are trying to access?

    Let me know.

    Sue.

  • See Security Server + RDP

Can you security 'proxy' Server RDP connections or manipulates only PCOIP?

You can use RDP and PCOIP via view security server.   I'm moving this thread the View Forum Manager for better visibility.
