• Lightroom 5 import question - created but not seen image files

  I recently imported images of several cards in LR 5 and had imported them into folders by date and whenever I imported, I saw the pictures.  When we recently connected the drive I saw dated records but there is no images in these files.  They are lost forever, or they are hidden somewhere?  When you look at the drive through the viewfinder, it shows the folders are empty...

  I recently found a sudoers file on my 2015 Macbook Air 13 "(1.6 GHz Intel Core 5/Mem 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) El Capitan 10.11.6 who took control of my HD and my cable modem. I was able to fix these problems (with the help of this forum, thank YOU!) but I still cannot change the permissions for my Apps folder and cannot connect to the App Store. I want to go back to the original OS X Yosemite. I set up a root user account and use a new installation of Firefox. When I tried to connect to apple.com, I received a warning to redirect (Chrome) which I have not installed. I then opened Finder and went to Library/Caches/com.apple.iconservices.store and found on a hundred or more of these files of text document, all written in code, with the extension .isdata I am not so much concerned by a brick machine, because I have a guarantee of damages from the dealer, and they say that I can exchange it. I don't want to start deleting files that may be needed for the system. Has anyone seen these files? Can they be deleted safely? (I'm under is boot secured under the root user)

  I believe that these two files are temporary files "transaction" or "buffer" that disappeared, the closing of Firefox. I've only seen these files in a profile that is running, never in a closed profile; except maybe in a profile that does not close properly, such as after an accident - but I can't say with certainty, I rarely crash Firefox.

  Just checked in another profile - absent until Firefox 6.0 is launched, and they disappear in the seconds following the release of Firefox.

• Cannot find the files in macbook trash of the external hard drive

  Recently, I dragged a large number of video clips from my external Lacie hard drive in my macbook air garbage. Whenever I opened my trash, I realized the moved files were there if my hard drive is connected. However, recently, I opened the bin and the moved files were not there. The files that I have deleted my MacBook are still there, and I never emptied my trash. I would appreciate your help as I really need these clips video back. Thank you!

  What happens when you reconnect the drive? Or do you mean that it is always connected? You have it disconnected since you have seen modified files?

  For what it's worth, he is not really a great idea to store files in the Recycle Bin.

• How to force remove a virus/malware process/file in the temp folder?

• Hidden files impossible

  However, while waiting for the analysis at the end, I did a bit of my own trials and deduced that Steam has released the game for me without the files of script on purpose, and that they are merged into other files - so problem solved.

• InDesign can't open "old files" CS6.

  I had to make some adjustments in a project, I opened before and was working a lot... (2 months since the last time I worked with this project) When I had to make some minor corrections etc. on this project yesterday I can't open the file. The project he auto are only on the 8900 kB.   First of all, a tip: try breaking manually links to the file by moving this document you want to open on your desktop or another directory or such and then try to open the... (corrupted image previews and/or images may then be largely elminated as a potential cause)

  As @Peter mentioned, we (Markzware - link here for how it works) can probably repair this file. Interesting notes of @jongware above. Without having seen this file, our research shows there are variety of reasons an InDesign file can head South and corrupt or crash on you. Just as a doctor cannot always say what has caused the problem, there are some basic steps that we should take. For example, OS updated, using the latest available update InDesign, enough disk space and disk for Adobe scartch space heavy design operations. Here is a list of some of the most common problems with bad INDD documents:

  * Corrupt police (or corrupt fonts (see below) caches

  * Corrupt or images

  * Power failure

  * Place images by drag - move a Web page

  * Working on a file, InDesign via a network or on a remote server

• Why not place the Oracle data files on local disks

  Hi, I want to ask a fundamental question.
  
  Almost any Oracle installation I've seen, data files have been placed on Mount points, disk etc..
  
  Is there a reason for this? Why no one does place for local disks oracle data files? I couldn't find the answer on the installation guide
  
  I ask this because I will install oracle (10g) on vmware and trying to decide whether to put data on the vmdk (virtual computer local disk) files...
  Is - this recommended? If not, why it is recommended to put data files to a disc of fixation for point/external etc..

  (1) bettter performance
  (2) the data can be in a centralized storage
  (3) if the OS crashes always files are safe
  (4) configurable with raid options
  (5) hot Swapping
  (6) easily can add additional storage

• What is an as2proj file?

  I do all the work of flash for my business, then, when I had to take off a few days for a funeral that my boss had a contractor to build a flash app that I would be built during this period.
  
  Yesterday, we received the source files. AS2 publish for player8. We need to edit some of the scripts to add more features. I went through the code and figured it out, added a few traces to be sure. When I test the movie, the traces are not displayed... When I change anything in the classes, the change does not display during a test.
  
  So, I looked in the files we received, and I notice a file called "app.as2proj menu" I've never seen any file called .as2proj before and can't seem to find very little online about it. I think that this file is a clue as to why my changes are not display. Maybe it has something to do with a third party compiler? Nobody knows anything about the .as2proj files, and how can I change this project?

  -Very well, never mind. After much research, I found a software that reads the files .as2proj. Called FlashDevelop. No matter, however, I discovered that if I moved the class files in the same directory (not a subdirectory) as the .fla of in, then it works fine. I'm guessing that FlashDevelop has a parameter that indicates the flash file that the classes are within a subdirectory.

• Inconsistent results Spotlight

  I've known inconsistent results of Spotlight with OS X servers for a year or so now. I worked on that with Yosemite and El Capitan.

  What is happening is that Spotlight does not see inside some files scattered in various actions. The problem is consistent if the search of a customer attached or on the server itself. It has many, many of these records.

  I deleted it. Index files V100-focus on volumes several times with the following process:

  sudo mdutil - a-i off

  sudo rm - rfv. Spotlight-V100 (I run on each volume)

  sudo mdutil - a-i on

  sudo mdutil - Ea

  However after letting the Spotlight re-indexing it does not fix things.

  I think next reset the ACL on the volume where the data is stored. I first want to make sure that what I'm doing, that's enough:

  sudo chmod-r/path/to/volume n

  Then set the permissions for the shares as it should.

  Suggestions or comments?

  You happen to have the system during a rebuild Spotlight log tail?  If Yes, have you seen errors, files or records which failed to index, or all mdworker default processes?  The system log can provide valuable data as to why Spotlight does not complete.

  Then, if you are going to strip the ACL, you will also remove user _spotlight.  This system is essential for the proper functioning of the projector.  Make sure that when you go to spread your new ACLs that account _Spotlight is listed as an ACE inherited.  All files and folders on your part must contain this account from the ACL table service.

  And finally, don't forget to watch the POSIX permissions.  If you have restrictive permissions POSIX, you may have implemented a condition in which the mdworker process simply can not cross your data structure.  Search for files located at 700 or files located at 600.  Perhaps considered using the propagation process to restore all the POSIX permissions standard umask.

  I wonder where the page tiles new tab are stored in the profile. I looked this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1044266, but haven't seen any file named directoryLinks.json.

  No, recovering files is read-only. The only time I've seen is file recovery corrupted if HP issues a patch that is capable of writing to them_which rarely occurs.

  Hello... I just downloaded and updated the installer of the firmware from the sandisk website. (SansaUpdaterInstall.exe)

  Then after I got it and reopen my player (sansa fuze) even once, I can't seen mp3 files that I copied before the Installer update. I open the music folder and it is empty, but in the player, I can see all of the mp3 files. Is - this bacause of the installer? How can I do to see the files?

  Looks like you got the player in MTP mode and the update of the firmware he switched to MSC.

  Change it in settings > USB MTP mode & the player will appear as a portable device - Sansa Fuze.
