segments of corrupt

Hi all

one of my blocks of database is damaged. While performing the check in rman validate we gave only datafile id and the id of the block.

How we can find segments damaged with these details. Please let me know.

database is 11 GR 2 on linux 5.5

Thank you

  • How can I determine what files given File Record Segments Point to?

    I'm under NTFS, and I have a volume of 2 TB with a lot of files that it contains.  Fortunately, I cloned the entire volume to another volume of 2 TB on occasion (using WinDD, basically an exact bit-by-bit image of the entire 2 TB).  Unfortunately, the volume, I used to work failed, and my last clone was old enough.  To remedy this, I switched to Linux and ddrescue to get as many recovered defective disc I have.  When I finally gave up the recovery (after weeks, but it seemed that it would take years to get a lot more value), I stayed with 1.3MiB evil space in two or three sections of the volume, especially in the 1kiB sections (generally there was 2 bad sectors, followed by a number of sectors well followed by 2 more bad sectors etc.).  The volume had clusters of 64 Kio, which left still potentially a lot of corruption.  After all this, I took the volume newly cloned (from bad disk) back to windows and ran chkdsk.  He finds 1 segment of corrupted file, 336 segments of the orphan file and 440 bad index entries.  So he deleted all those (which included about 6 files that moved to the chkdsk finds the file, the rest was individual files which are now gone).  I do not know what files have disappeared, but I know that most of the lost files are probably on my good old clone of the volume.  Comparing volumes per-folder basis, would be a nightmare, and I suppose cannot easily use a tool (or find a free) because of the number of changes that have not been saved.  I have the registered chkdsk log so I can sort through this.  Can someone tell me a good way to know what files the segments to record file deleted perpendicularly on the volume where they have not been removed?  For example, here are two chkdsk log records:

    Delete a corrupt file record segment 1107859.

    Delete a 1069930 an orphan file record segment.

    Since I know specifically what segment to save file, I need to look on the good clone, can I somehow extract file information about the MFT file segment numbers?

    Notice that I must not use XP to do, which is be where the volume has been created and repaired.

    Well, I finally had the chance to try some Linux ntfs-based utilities.  I'm not sure they are NTFS - 3g, important or ntfsutils, but all those who have a favorite linux distribution should be able to fire and get the information I needed easily.  The numbers are numbers of inodes, and two orders were very useful.  It has provided what I need:

    ntfscluster - I

    It included the full path to the file in question and very little information.  This command has provided a lot of information that I didn't need:

    NTFSInfo-i

    He did not provide the path, but provide the number of inode in the directory parent, so you can reverse engineer the path using this command again and again.

  • Win7 HP Pavilion Explorer errors

    I just started my HP Pavilion p6310f this morning to find out that I have serious problems. I was running firefox when I received an error message that read "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and he says, that he would attempt to restart it. When it restart, it crashed again instantly. I tried to turn off my computer, but I could not because the Explorer was. Windows forced a shut down anyway, leading to a blue screen of death. After reboot, Windows ran a CHKDSK on my hard drive and remove a number of segments of the corrupted file and the index entries.

    I thought it might be a virus, so when I was able to come back to my Office I ran Malwarebytes, but nothing came. After the finished scan Windows started throwing the same error "Windows Explorer has stopped working" message as before and I was forced into another stop down. Windows CHKDSK represented and remove some more segments of corrupted files and the index entries. After that, that I decided to start in Safe Mode, thinking that I had a few nasty viruses. I used the System Restore tool to restore my computer on the eve of Christmas, when my computer was working fine. I reconnected in and received the same error message and forced the closing down. I then booted in diagnostic, provided by HP tools / PC - Doctor, and ran the tests. Hard drive test could not say "Error Code: BIOHD-8" and "error: a SMART on the drive test failure."

    I'm fairly certain that my hard drive went bad, which is frustrating, because I have not had this computer for three months. My dilemma is that I have no recovery disk because I thought that I had more than three months to make. My question is about the Win7 OS. I agree with the purchase of a new hard drive, but Win7 is extremely expensive. Is it possible to recover it? If I can get on my office long enough to run the disk recovery tool, the discs will have the same bug as my current hard drive? Is it possible to get a copy of Win7 from HP recovery discs? I have the CD key for the operating system, as it comes standard on all cases of HP. Any suggestions that can help me to avoid spending hundreds of dollars on a copy of Windows 7 are appreciated.

  • ORA-12012: error on auto work 8884

    I get this error in the log to alert a month indicating that

    ORA-12012: error on auto work 8884
    ORA-08103: object no longer exists

    But could not find the root cause, as I am not able to find the object that sound indicating its actually not exist.

    Please help in this regard. .like I'm afraid it might be due to corruption, block...

    Hello

    try to use the application to find the block below invoice

    Select ds.*
    from dba_segments ds, sys.uet$ e
    where ds.header_file = e.segfile #.
    and ds.header_block = e.segblock #.
    and e.header_file =
    and between e.block # and e.block #+ e.length - 1;

    see if the corrupt blocks are part of index segments that you can easily solve the problem, because all the table data to re-create the index is always accessible, you can drop and re-create the index (the block will be reformatted when he took in the list of free space and reused for the index).

    In the case of table segment, then

    Data file backups and files using archived redo logs you can perform a recovery of the data file that contains corrupted data block. You must be sure, however, that the data block was already altered in the data backup file.

    If you regularly dump files by using the export utility, another option would be to restore the segment of the table using the import utility. Of course, you can do this only if the version of the table such as stored in the dump file is acceptable or not too old. Note that prior to the importation of the table, you must delete the current table, which releases the defective block.

    The last option is to use SQL to select as much data as possible to the current segment table corrupt and save the lines selected into a new table. Make sure you only select the data that is stored in blocks of segment preceding the complete block damaged by using a table scan (via a cursor fetch lines one by one and at the same time their economy to a new table).

    Lines that are stored in blocks after the corrupt block cause a problem, because a full table scan will never reach them. However, you can still get these lines using ROWID (research of single-row).

  • Segments distorted in a few songs during extraction of music from a CD

    I met an occasional problem of distortion in the (Lossless) .m4a, .mp3 (VBR), and encoded .wav files. I first noticed this problem using iTunes on my computer Windows 7 Professional/HP Elite HPE. Distortion occurs towards the end of the file and is the same for files using Windows Media Player and the same song ripped off on a netbook Acer Win 7 Starter Ed running. The CD plays normally (without distortion) on the same computers. I redid "Nights in White Satin" several times and recorded the distortion happens in the same places (for three types of files) every time. I tore the same track on an old laptop (Toshiba 2003 5105 - S501 / Windows XP with an earlier version of iTunes). The track was taken from all types of files without distortion. The same set of files without distortion on the newest computer without distortion (I played all the files using iTunes and win.) (Media Player). The common denominator for the distortion of file is either a malfunction in Windows 7, an inherent problem with Intel processors (HP has an i5 quad processor/Acer netbook has of an Atom), or a problem with the motherboard (I don't know who did one of them). There were only a few other tracks which record with distortion and everything I found (I didn't listen all tracks completely) have been torn without distortion. As the distortion is exactly the same thing, in exactly the same segments, could also be coding algorithms, which may have been changed (but I'm just guessing). I don't think that there is an easy solution, but a value of reporting for the different parts. I would be happy to submit the actual files (good and bad) for you, if you wish.

    Sandeep V.

    Thank you. It worked. What I've done so far is:

    1 uninstalled old version of Easy CD Creator (Roxio) v.6 and restarted the computer. He did nothing to help.

    2. uninstall Media Player (and rebooted), then repaired iTunes (and restarted).

    3 ripped the song of problem in 3 different formats all were clean, without ANY problem.

    I have not yet reinstalled Media Player. So, thank you for the help. I guess it's a corrupt (or files) that are now in good condition.

    Indicate whether the segment containing this block is an Index or Table.  Query DBA_EXTENTS for this.

    If there is an Index, you can DROP INDEX and CREATE INDEX.

    If it is a table you could mark the corrupt block and Oracle will avoid to read the data in this block - lines in this block are not recoverable.

    Or you could restore the table from a backup (export or backup datapump?) and redo all the transactions that took place on the table since the backup.

  • Application of segment SS Enqueue and fate on 8.1.7.4 after attempting to drop the temp tablespace

    We have a case opened with the support of the Oracle, but I thought I'd throw it out there if it's ok.

    We have a 8.1.7.4 database running on HP - UX 11.11 PA-Risc and it looks like any session that wants to use a temp space is hung a SS enqueue or in some cases is waiting on a waiting "sort request of the segment.

    Saturday, we tried to move all users to a new temporary tablespace and drop the old one but the drop suspended and we control-C out of it.  We put the users to the original temp.  Note that both the old and the new temporary tablespaces are managed locally.

    Before trying to leave falling the old tablespace temp that we killed the existing sessions, including one who had worked for two weeks and has been hooked on SMON.

    Query v$ fast_start_transactions and x$ ktuxe indicate that SMON is back any large transaction.

    In addition, SMON seems to run this query always:

    SELECT file #, block #, LENGTH

    The UET $

    WHERE the ts # =: 1 AND segfile # =: 2 AND segblock # =: 3 AND ext # =: 4

    Here are the locks held by SMON for what it's worth:

    Same database has a recovery scenario about a month or to go back due to some deleted data files.  Also, during the holidays, we had to rebuild a global index huge and increased our tablespace temp to get it, which is why we strive to reduce now create a smaller.  In addition, creating index was still holding in the tablespace existing managed dictionary so we ended up move the index to a managed locally.  Also, UET$ has about 33,000,000 lines and most of the data is in the dictionary managed tablespaces.  Dba_free_space queries typically take 30 minutes to return - that is, we know it is messed up and has been so for a long time.

    Pleasure for us.  If anyone has an idea that would be great.

    -Bobby

    Tablespace name I really used corresponded to ts #= 74 in v$ tablespace.

    We plan to rebuild the other indexes in this space in a new locally managed tablespace and then drop the tablespace existing managed dictionary.  My only question is whether corruption will drop the tablespace to fail.

    Hi Bobby,.

    I'm not sure of your current situation hope now, that's better.

    I couldn't find the time to reply back yesterday. Looking at the huge amounts of temporary segments in your tablespace (74), just made me think if you or Support of Oracle were you made aware of an event DROP_SEGMENTS which is an event of users can invoke to clear temporary segments. It deletes the temporary segments such as the SMON in the background. This event has the advantage of not having the CPU consumed by SMON.

    47400.1 Note : EVENT: DROP_SEGMENTS - forcing cleanup of TEMPORARY segments

    There is also a method to the dictionary (changes) patch (not recommended if not). You can enlist the help of Oracle Support

    The method is to identify the segment (which you already have) and update the segment_type from temporary to 999.

    388619.1 Note: last resort when SMON takes 100% of CPU

    Kind regards

    Hello

    Please follow the steps to format corrupt block a used the procedure mentioned in the document below, please note that you need to do several times for all the block corrupted in free space.
    Doc-ID 336133.1===> how corrupt Format block is not part of any Segment.

    Following the notes 293515.1 -->> ORA-1578 ORA-26040 in a LOB segment - Script to resolve errors

    This note is for these errors, but the procedure is exactly the same, we must:

    1 - identify the ROWID affected
    2 - Put the ROWID corrupted on EMPTY_LOB
    3. When you MOVE the LOB to a new Tablespace

    These are essentially the steps, the note shows how

  • ORA-01552: cannot use tablespac system system rollback segment

    Hi all

    Environment: database Production: Source

    Database dev: target

    11203 Version database.

    Golden gate Version 11.1

    Scheme of the Golden Gate: GGATE

    Method of replication. DDL replication is ACTIVE

    In my production database my Undo tablespace is corrupted. I changed the management to cancel the manual setting and rebounded from the DB and open editing mode. Then I deleted the undo tablespace data file using in offline mode. Then I opened the database.

    SQL > alter database datafile ' / u01/app/oracle/oradata/db1/undotbs01.dbf' drop offline;

    Database altered.

    Issue.

    Now, if I try to let drop the tablespace UNDOTBS1 undo or to create the new database of the undo tablespace throws me error as below:

    SQL > drop tablespace undotbs1;

    Drop tablespace undotbs1

    Please anyone suggest me how to manage this problem.

    Kind regards

    Rohit

    Try this:

    Conn / as sysdba

    SQL > alter system set _system_trig_enabled = false;

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_alter_ctable_before DISABLE.

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_create_ctable_after DISABLE.

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_create_ctable_before DISABLE.

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_drop_ctable_before DISABLE.

    create undo tablespace, you could do now:

    SQL > create undo tablespace undotbs2 datafile 'XX/xX/XXX/XXX/undotbs2.dbf' size XM autoextend on;

    SQL > alter system set undo_tablespace = undotbs2 scope = both;

    allow them once again:

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_alter_ctable_before ENABLE;

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_create_ctable_after ENABLE;

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_create_ctable_before ENABLE;

    SQL > alter trigger sys.cdc_drop_ctable_before ENABLE;

    SQL > alter system set _system_trig_enabled = TRUE;

    Restart the system.
