Segments of unpredictable line in Illustrator

Sometimes if I'm trying to precisely align one end to the other, the end, I chose will jump and never go where I want to be. I tried to do this with Snap [etc] on and outside, nor made a difference. This makes precision work impossible. And with line segments that are drawn into 'Shift' to make them perfectly straight, I can't have the trait being nothing less than 1 px. Ideas about what's going on / what can I do? Thank you.

You work with a default RGB file Align to Pixel Grid enabled. Disable the transformation (bottom) Panel and the dialog box (uncheck the box after selecting all items).

  • Convert a line segment to a line of pen

I have a problem with several illustrator files that I get from my students. We use Illustrator to cute objects and some students using the line segment tool to create lines. These lines look like simple lines in illustrator, but after importation in our cute (lasermate v5) software, they become rectangular forms. My quenstion is, if there is a tool or a way to convert these forms in individual lines/box lines.

I hope that makes sense, English is not my native language

I have a solution. When I save my file and check the box "keep transparency" all lines remain simple lines.

  • How to draw parallel curved lines in Illustrator?

    brand.gif

I am completely new to Illustrator. I looked at a few tutorials about it.

I want to create a bunch of parallel curved line in illustrator as circled above, however, it is quite confusing because how do.

Can someone guide me step by step?

In fact the part circle of your example is just a unique, path path, so we really don't know what you want in terms of "parallel curve."

In any case, a specific way to get parallel lines of any kind is using delay of path.

Also use the pen to draw a path:

With she is selected, choose object > path > offset path.

Enter a positive value. Note that when you use the offset path on a path (as opposed to a closed shape), the offset goes 2 ways.

Use the direct selection (white arrow) to select the unwanted bits and remove them:

Leaving just the original path and its new parallel path:

  • Problem with lines in Illustrator using the Wacom Tablet

    Hi all

I have no idea why I'm having this problem in Illustrator. I use the small Intuos Pen Tablet (CTL-480), and my lines in illustrator is really strange. Even when I turn off the pressure in the brush settings, there is a gap in the line (it takes just one line of the same thickness). The Tablet works perfectly in Photoshop, but because I use the tablet to create art using plates (typography), it is easier and better for me to use illustrator. You are not sure that someone else had a similar problem or know maybe a setting I could change or try to fix it?

I have attached a picture of the problem.

    Thank you for your help.

    This is a known issue.

If all you want is a line single width, do not use brushes. Use the pencil tool and a simple blow

If you apply a calligraphy brush, apply the effect zig - zag to it with a value of 0, then a setting of about 100 (turn on the preview to adjust)

  • Line to Illustrator: no vector shape

Updated Illustrator CC & line, when I send my file to the line to Illustrator I get only a bitmap image in Illustrator. What's up please, Hey guys where are vector shapes? I do not understand what you are doing with these app, there are a lot of application much easier to use than yours! Look for example at the design ' ts, we can can compare it to the line, but they offer layers, forms can be easily moved and the file can be sent to illustrator and open in a vector format. It's a shame that this cannot be possible with your own application! Sorry, but I am totally disappointed...

  • Segments of straight lines do not align with grid

Whenever I draw a straight line segment, it is not lined up on the grid, it is slightly to the left or right side of the line of the grid. (you can see on the line down to the right in the picture).  It is annoying because I can't get a bow to align properly with the segment of the line, as you can see in the picture there is a cliff on the bow where I want to align perfectly on the line segment. I have snap to grid on passing, but I tried with him off and it still does the same thing.

I tried object-path-join with the line and the CRA chosen, but all that is move the whole arc to the left. I tried to recover the anchor points of the line and move them to the middle and I can get one end to align with the line of sight of the grid, but as soon as I move the anchor in front on the line to straighten out, all snaps back to being slightly to the left or right.

Someone has ideas of how to do to get my path of line to be directly on the grid, so it is aligned with the CRA?

Any chance you have snap to grid of pixels as well... Check the transformation Panel.

  • Alignment of the segments of the line at the bottom?

Hey guys!  Fairly new to Illustrator, have a quick question.

So I try to 0.31 inch of space between a bunch of 55 degrees line segments.  The problem is that when I use the function of spacing to distribute while it is set to 0.31, he spaces the left part of the segment straight 0.31 in. the right side of the left hand line segment.

To explain it in a different way, the program makes a theoretical rectangle around each segment of line of 55 degrees and spaces these rectangles 0.31 inch outside instead of spacing of centers each line of 55 degrees 0.31 inches apart.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thank you!  (For the record, new to the program.  Don't know may not be some technical jargon )

    Alex,

One way to do it would be to create the first line, then object > transform > move by 0.31 in. and click on copy each time.

Or effect > warp & Transform > transform, then set the move to 0.31 in. and set the number of copies. Leaving you with just the first line. You can object > break down the side if you want to separate lines.

  • Lines in Illustrator have no layout color or shape?

Hi there, so I'm working on a T-Shirt design atm in Illustrator

When I click and do a few things on my graphics tablet without realizing

All of a sudden, every line and color etc have no formatting at all. They are now all very fine black lines.

    I can't bring him back.

Is a kind of clear vision or something like in the moddelling 3D software? the glimpse of the layers always has color etc. So I hope it's just a setting that I can not find...

    Thanks for any help

    Sam,

CTRL Cmd + Y allows you to switch between outline and overview (see the view drop-down list).

You may have mishit, try using a different combination of keys (instead of Y, T is the Group palette Type, G for group, H is for edges, and U is for Smart Guides, everything changes).

  • Line weight Illustrator support?

I often use the line weight tool in illustrator to my characters. I noticed that this information did not get postponed when I saved a puppet of the Illustrator. I disabled the earthquake mode, but it did not help.

For the Illustrator features that we don't currently support native mode as a vector, you can use the option "Show as an Image" for the skin of the work. Expand the parts folder until you see the skin (it will have an icon of photography and the same name as your .ai file). Select it, and then activate 'show as Image' in the properties panel. Note that this option disables Wiggler (if requested), but should allow things like the thickness of line, gradients, etc. work.

  • How to draw a line on Illustrator uses Excel via VBA coordinates

    Void line_viaCoordinates()

    Dim Illustrator.PathItem As isquare

Define the idoc = iapp. Documents.Add

    iSQUARE. SetEntirePath (lineList)

  • Vertical dotted line running Illustrator CS5

Hi, this should be really easy. It was in my old version of CS2 but how do I create a vertical line doubled around a circle as shown below?

    example.jpg

I did it in Indesign, but you can look that the lines are not evenly distributed, I find myself with a black box more thick at the bottom because of the overlapping lines. I removed it in Illustrator and as you can see I'm left with uneven spacing.

    Anyone?

To make vertical dashes have a high weight of STROKE (10-20pts) and short (1pt) a dash.

  • How to change a line in Illustrator CC?

    Hello

This may sound silly, but I don't know how to change a line. I can't change other basic objects, such as the square, but not a line. There is no brand 'ladder' around it, and when I try to scale sorter/more long anyway, is deformed in a wrong direction, because my hand is not stable. I had no such problems to the CS6. I hope someone knows how to solve.

You must select object > shape > expand shape so he can behave as it did in CS6.

Do you see this problem even when the GPU is disabled? You can disable the GPU by pressing the icon of the rocket in the App bar and deselect the checkbox GPU.
