Select text based on color or formatting?

I have a document of 15,000 words, a transcript for my uni thesis.

It works by using a color code system that turns any response which was made in what concerns the individual responses, now it would take me an age to do by hand, but I guess that there is a simpler way to do this and select all text with he same format or color?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

You say what version of Pages that you use.

If it's the 5.6.1 Pages your first problem is that you can't find on the style, the second problem, even if you could you cannot select non-contiguous text.

    So I put together a few lines.

    Try them and tell me if it points in the right direction.

    To use the Script, you need an InDesign file with text. Some characters have kerning (-100). On top, you need a character style in the InDesign document with the name of "red". If you change the color in the character style, you should see that the characters with kerning (-100) have given color after you run the script.

  • Dreamweaver CC: How to change the color of the selected text

    Maybe a stupid question, but I can't seem to figure it out, even with searches on the web.  I want to change the color of a single word in my HTML document.  Can anyone offer advice?

    I can change some styles of the selected text (bold, italic, etc.), but do not understand the color.

    Also, I know how to change the color of the different elements using CSS.  But for the selected text in an element, CSS here the simplest solution?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for that.  But I don't have a color option in my menu format.  It ends at some CSS Styles.  I have to allow him anywhere?  I use Dreamweaver CC.

    Yes.  I checked it and in CC DW, there is not a way to do as I suggested previously.  I was watching DW CS6 and he got it.

    Looks like you'll need to teach how them to manually code.  This will make them think about what they are doing and so concentrate better.

    Ah, I think I understand now.

    Try that and see if it's what you want

    Right-click on properties/Desktop

    On the appearance tab click the Advanced button

    To the title of the item change the color of the "selected items".

  • How to select text and be able to change the font without the text highlight color effect reverse?

    I remember being able to select the text with a certain shortcut would not show that it is actually highlighted, but it actually so, essentially the same function as selecting / highlighting just without the Visual indicator that it is highlighted / selected.

    You can change the font by selecting just different fonts in the menu drop-down of the character Panel. It will change the police without selecting text and giving you a reverse color effect.

  • Is it possible to use a color library for the selected text in a text box?

    What I would do, it is to be able to select a string of text in a text box and assign a color of the library. Currently, all you get is an audible 'bong' If you highlight the text and you try to select a color in the library. Similarly, if you select the text, then select the palette of color of the characters and then try to pick the color of the library, it will not do.

    Attempt of steps:

    1. Select the text you want to change the color in a text box

    Screen Shot 2015-01-24 at 2.11.30 PM.png

    2. Select the color in the character window

    Screen Shot 2015-01-24 at 2.12.14 PM.png

    3. try to select the color in the library

    Screen Shot 2015-01-24 at 2.12.26 PM.png

    I imagine that this has not been just haven't implemented but I want to just make sure that I wouldn't have missed something if there is a way to make it work in the way that it seems , it should.

    You can hold down the left mouse button, click anywhere in your picture, drag the eyedropper on the libraries Panel, hover over the different shades and you should see the colors change in the color picker.

    When you find the color you want, release the mouse button.

    I can't find a way to change the color of the selected text in the TextInput or TextArea controls from the default black.

    Could someone point me in the right direction on how to do this in AS3.

    I thought it would be a style or a property, but in this case I must be missing it.

    Thank you

    Unfortunately, there is no support for this.  There is in the new text layout framework

  • Is it possible to update a character style with the changes I made to the selected text?

    I use InDesign CS5 on OS X Yosemite.

    I don't really know the best way to put it, so I hope that this scenario makes sense.

    Let's say I have a document with a few styles of different characters, and on one page of the document, I decided that I would try something different for a title that has an applied character style - this style is applied to all titles at the same level on the rest of the document. I do not adjust the style of character, however, but simply adjust the setting in shape in the upper character Panel. After playing for awhile, I have decide that I'm really this new setting in shape and want to apply as a result of the document, but now I don't have a character for this style.

    I know that I could just make a new style of form the title I have changed, then go back into the rest of the document and apply it to other styles. However, since this title still has the original style applied (just with overrides), I would like to know if there is a quick way to update the style based on the new formatting?

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thank you for your help in advance.

    With the substituted text still selected (you will see a + next to the character name of the Style in the character Styles Panel), choose the Style to redefine in the character Styles Panel menu.

  • How do the style of the selected text?

    I have some text formatted the way I like, apparently based on a different style of text. I mean InDesign: 'make a NEW paragraph in the selected text style.

    Once you have formatted a paragraph as you want, open the paragraph Styles Panel (window > Styles > paragraph Styles). In the Panel menu, choose new paragraph Style. The information contained in paragraph apply to the style definition.

  • Replace the selected text with other content TextFrame

    Hello

    I am changing a text selected in something new, involving the movement of text and the paragraph style using a jsx script. At the present time, everything works beautifully:

    • I entered the select text
    • I have create a new temporary TextFrame
    • I build my new paragraphs and apply styles to them in the new TextFrame

    What I was not able to reach still is to replace the original selected text by temporary TextFrame content.

    Any help would be more than welcome

    A part of my script:

    myText = app.selection[0].contents;

    ... do some stuff

    var myDocument = app.documents.item(0);

    var myPage = myDocument.pages.item(0);

    var myTextFrame = myPage.textFrames.add();

    myTextFrame.geometricBounds = [0, -70, 150, 70];

    myTextFrame.contents = "Paragraph1\rParagraph2...";

    myTextFrame.paragraphs[0].appliedParagraphStyle = pStyleGroup.paragraphStyles.itemByName('Style1');

    myTextFrame.paragraphs[1].appliedParagraphStyle = pStyleGroup.paragraphStyles.itemByName('Style2');

    And now, in myTextFrame, I have my new paragraph formatted, and I would like to replace the original selected text with the contents of my TextFrame (keeping the paragraph styles).

    Hello

    Keep the logic of the code and edit utilities:

    var
        mSourceIdx = app.selection[0].index,
        mStory = app.selection[0].parentStory,
        mReplaceStuff = {
            elements: [
                ["Paragraph_1\r",  "Style_1"],
                ["Paragraph_2\r",  "Style_2"],
                ["Paragraph_X\r",  "Style_X"]
                ]},
        mTarget, cElement, cText, cParaStyle;

    while (cElement = mReplaceStuff.elements.pop()) {
        cText = cElement[0];
        cParaStyle = app.activeDocument.paragraphStyles.item(cElement[1]); // modify if styleGroups present in a structure
      mTarget = mStory.insertionPoints.item(mSourceIdx);
        mTarget.contents = cText;
        mTarget.paragraphs[0].appliedParagraphStyle = cParaStyle;
         }

    app.selection[0].contents = "";

    MReplaceStuff allows to prepare stuff to replace

    Hello

    There are several ways to do this-

    1. for font color, you can use the CSS section in the Inspector (Windows-> property) properties.

    3. you can use CSSD to add a switch and set color property in the section of text.

  • reason for commas not allowed in the dialog box select text resource

    Hello
    I use jdev 11.1.2.2 and I was quite surprised by not being able to put the comma in the key in the dialog box select text resource. This behavior forces me to change the resource group by hand and not through this dialog box.
    Is there a reason for this undocumented? Because in my teams, nobody thinks that something like:
    mainTable.header=header Text
    secondTable.header=different Text
    is worse than the variant with underscore...

    If I interpret things the way that I think you mean, for example in the dialog select a text key resource cannot be a string without a period (or comma never seen that myself) as a separator, then the explanation is simple.
    This function of "convenience" of a resource string mapping depends on the access of the implicit getter of the Expression language.
    for example, the created EL is in the form #{viewcontrollerBundle.key}, which corresponds to the bundle.get ('key'); in terms of java.
    To support the use of the period (or the comma!) inside the key, the generated form will have to implement: #{viewcontrollerBundle ['key']} otherwise an example like this:
    #{viewcontrollerBundle.mainTable.header} would be generated which, in words EL would be mapped (as a Variant) with bundle.getMainTable () .getHeader () because of the way periods are interpreted in EL.
    So basically, the dialog box is properly in the light of the real EL that is generated.
    All this side - it is a known restriction and 12, we changed the EL format to the more flexible form in this case and therefore the dialog box will accept periods.

  • Cascade LOV display text (based on LOV) report clasic

    Hi Experts,

    It is possible to use cascade LOV - item is displayed as text (based on LOV) in clasic report? (Display AS)
    I would like to refer to another column displayed in the report in LOV.

    Example:
    select description d,
           val_strg2 r
      from domain_cntr
     where cntr_name = 'CH_PRIM_ST_NOTE'
       and val_strg1   = #PRIM_STATUS#
       and active_idc  = 'Y'
    #PRIM_STATUS # is the column I would like to reference.

    Is this possible? IN THE CLASSIC REPORT

    concerning
    J :D

    Hello
    >
    Is this possible? IN THE CLASSIC REPORT
    >
    Yes.

    It can one thing long enough to encode, so be prepared for that.

    Here's how:
    a. use the APEX_ITEM API in your report query. Be sure to only specify the p_item_id parameter, using #ROWNUM #.
    b. in the LoV wrtie Parent a trigger of onChange event which triggers a JavaScript function and pass it the ID of the item.
    (c) in this JavaScript function makes a call to get AJAX < select >... < option... >... < / select >, in short the full HTML of the child LoV
    d. push this HTML fragment in the child Lov. You build the ID of the target based on the ID of the parent. E.g. f01_0001 to f02_0001.
    e. you can further keep the invisible or disabled child initially and then make it visible/enable after it is filled.
