Sending PUSH in a cluster of BES?

Hello

I have an environment where there are 4 servers BES (using Lotus Notes), and 500 registered devices to each.

Now I seem to be able to send PUSH messages to 2 devices registered to different servers, BES, using a SINGLE

IP address of PUSH.

Both devices have books of different services that identify the different PRS so I know that they are registered to different BES servers (the administrator also confirmed that independently)

So my question is:-

In a configuration where there are a lot of BES servers, can I send PUSH messages for all devices with a UNIQUE IP address?

Thank you

Hello

Yes, you see the behavior expected - only a single BES is configured as a server push using the BlackBerry Manager. It is the responsibility of the central server push BES can distribute the push messages BES home user for delivery to the target device. This is possible because all BES share a common configuration database. You need to use the IP address of the designated as the central push Server BES.

A common when deployment one problem asks to push the deployment as it was only balanced society all users on BES servers also (it one of them 'pass' is the Server central push)-However, in application of pressure at high speed, the central push server should not be heavily loaded than the non-BES server push (or in extreme cases is not loaded at all) because it is also having to deal with all push connections http entering your application on top of its normal functions.

Hope that clarifies things.

Try adding a blank line between the "Content-Type: text/html" line and your actual payload data. It seems that the system expects all the headers to be included in the estate, then a space, then the payload.

  • Send push notification app from a php page

    Hello

My question is: is it possible to send push notification to an application from a php page (hosted on a remote server or website)? If so, is there a tutorial or something?

The simplest option is to use a 3rd party service which provide an API to send promissory notes and a plugin for PhoneGap. Pushwoosh.com are very good and have examples of code for php. You will need to register for service PN Apple and Google (no extra cost) then give the Panel of Pushwoosh the access key (Google) and your Apple dev password (it will configure the necessary certificates for you).

  • Push notification to groups of BES to MDS

    Hello

Ich have a small question. My Application sends notifications of type push to one or several groups of BES.

This works well as long as the name of the Group has no spaces in the name as 'Test Group'.

I have test it with the following to the URL:

    http://10.40.0.25:8080 / push? DESTINATION = $TEST & PORT = 100 & REQUESTURI = /.
Return value: 505 / HTTP Version not supported

    http://10.40.0.25:8080/push?destination=$test%20Group&port=100&REQUESTURI=/
    Return value: 403 / forbidden

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance

    Benjamin

    Hi Benjamin,

You're targeting 20,000 users in a unique environment? Are all the user managed from a simple LOW?

A Central push server can be set up to reach all users of an MDS instance, but 20 000 growth would cause stress. I suggest that additional tests and see how performance is affected before trying with the full 20,000.

  • Sending push of error message

    Hi all

We have developed an application-side server push, but when we display the XML app on the Blackberry server:

https://cpXXX.pushapi.Eval.BlackBerry.com (XXX has been replaced by our CPID)

We receive a 404 with the following message:

    authorizationError: "Hostname/IP doesn\ ' t certificate\ altnames match."

    Can someone help us?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

https://cpXXX.pushapi.Eval.BlackBerry.com is just the base URL of PPG.

The full URL, you should be pushing to must be:

    https://cpXXX.pushapi.Eval.BlackBerry.com/MSS/PD_pushRequest

    See if that helps.

You use the Push Service SDK to develop your application on the server side?

    Thank you

  • Send message push from Server

I'm looking to integrate the push RIM with our server service.

I found the code that sends an HTTP POST message to a MDS connection service.  It's simple I can add via our java servlets.

My question is that I have a MDS connection service installed on my server or RIM provides a server url, we can use for our push messages.

We are Member of isv blackberry.

    Thank you.

as a member of the alliance, you can inquire about the push to bis. Ask your representative to the alliance on this issue.

for bes-push, you need an own bes + mds.

  • Push of BES.

    Hi all

Can we push imagae or video through BES?

I know that we can push through BES.

If anyone has an idea about this, please share it with me.

    -Shekhar.

    Hi Shekhar,

This is not directly supported in the way that application deployment is. If you want to achieve this functionality, you must develop a device and application server to manage the push and the receipt of the data side.

    Kind regards

  • What is each connection push the need to go through the BES Blackberry?

    Hello

This is a general question for any expert answer.

I have boost registered midlet that accepts streaming connection on a given port, registered as socket: / /: 1234

The intention is for a browser in the device you can connect to this application using http://localhost:1234 (or 127.0.0.1).

This works perfectly well with the other J2ME support for mobile devices like Symbian. Is it allowed on Blackberry? Or does each connection to push a pass through the Blackberry Enterprise Server?

It seems that I'm not allowed to save a midlet push without activation with the BES (ESS if BB Simulator). Why is this restriction?

    Thank you

    Paiva

You can try adding '; deviceside = true' to your URL

It expressly requires the device to use a direct connection instead of the connection of the BES

  • Don't get is not to push the checks on the server

    Hello

I have a server that uses the BlackBerry push format https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/enterprise/enterprise_blackberry_push_format.html to send push messages to our customer. It works very well.

I've added the following headers to POST messages when sending from the shoot:

    X-Rim-Push-reliability: the value 'transport' and

X-Rim-Push-NotifyUrl: point to a POST method on a web service, I have running. This is the signature of this method:

    [OperationContract]
    [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "Feedback", Method = "POST")]
    [CorsEnabled]
    void PostFeedback();

Now, even if outbreaks are sent fine to the device, the notifyURL never is called from our MDS Server. I checked that the service is accessible from the BES.

Inspect newspapers MDAT on the BES I see these lines:

    Notify the URL = , pushId = 3, 2b0a9a9e, result code = 400 net.rim.protocol.iplayer.e = destination: Connection Timed Out, State = timeout >

Is the 400, indicating that the surge has expired or that the HTTP request to my service has expired?

What do I need to configure something on the BES? The BES is running 10.2.4.14 version and the unit is a Q10 running latest OS 10.3.1.

OK, I realized that things went wrong:

    1. all docs BB (https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/enterprise/enterprise_blackberry_push_format.html) that the service must expose a POST method for push notifications. I inspected newspapers monitoring WCF and, to my surprise, I discovered that the SDM actually makes a GET request!
Then, that it is a GET request, I changed and I started to receive notifications.

But now, I was faced with a different problem. I've been putting X-Rim-Push-reliability in transport, which suggests that no acknowledgement of the thrust is required by the app, but I was still getting 400 on the push notification, which suggests that the push has never reached the device (even if she did).

    2. I updated the client application to acknowledge receipt of the push notification, and now my service becomes 200 for the status of push.

You should really update your documentation on this! I spend several hours trying to figure what was wrong on my side until I realized that the docs were outdated or false! This is not the first time that I'm having problems with your API... And the fact that I almost never get all the answers here is discouraging... Please fix this

  • Use of id id push and BB10 payload?

I'm relatively new to push stuff so this may be covered elsewhere. I can't find anything by searching in the forums.

When you push send, the PAP contains a push-id attribute. This seems to be an arbitrary string that I can specify.

When you receive a helping hand, the PushPayload has an id() which is a string, also described as "Returns the identifier push.". It seems it can be defined by the system and not related to what whatsoever in the offensive itself and so far seems to have the value "_".

Is there a relationship between these?

What is the purpose of the attribute id push?  I do shoot 'open loop' through BIS with the Push of basic service (no further), so my assumption is if I were using more or send Push through BES10 it would be a symbol that is useful to query the status of the push.

What is the purpose of the id property of PushPayload, and whether it was true that the docs say it returns the identifier of 'push', then what is the identifier to push and there at - it unconnected with the id push above property?

Thanks for any comments you may have.

    Hi Peter,.

What you think makes sense however, after receiving a history lesson on the whole situation, I found that it is essentially a bug. Really the push-id value must get past and power be read from the field PushPayload #id however the Push server don't currently even past this value down to the client. The push-id is useful today if you push through a BES or push more to query the status of a sudden thumb or cancelling a helping hand.

The field read you of PushPayload #id is actually automatically generated on the client if no ID push is received, which explains why he has no resemblance with... something useful.

There is a solution! You can add this header to the payload section to push your server 'Push-Message-ID' Push, giving your payload with a structure like:

    -asdfglkjhqwert
    Content-Type: text/plain
    Push-Message-ID:

    -asdfglkjhqwert-

I tried this out and it works well, gives the expected client-side value.

  • Pushing data from a Java application * confused *.

    Hello community,

I'm new to the BlackBerry Push. I tried to understand what options are available to provide data to a Java application and how it can be tested.

There are so many documents on this subject, for example:

    1. Push for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software
    2. BlackBerry Push service
    3. Push blackBerry SDK service

What I discovered thanks to these documents.

    1. There are two formats that can be used to send data through the BES (PAP push / push RIM)
    2. BlackBerry Push service has two levels (BB push Essentials / BB push more - limited to 8 KB content)
    3. In the Push Service SDK, there are two modes available (public and business mode)

For me, these information are really confusing.

    What I don't understand:

    I. can the software of the BlackBerry Push Service SDK be used for both options 1. & 2. mentioned above? (referring to public and business mode)

II. is there documentation how to push Service SDK can be configured for the mode of the company?

III. when you use BES Push is also limited to 8 KB content size?

IV. is it possible to only a single client application that can be used to BES and BIS push?

    Thanks in advance.

    I. the SDK can be used to push either a BIS or BES. The SDK has a setting to determine if its pressure through the (public) BIS or BES (company). The SDK can be used to push push Essentials or Plush Push. The SDK software uses the API of PAP.

II. I'm not sure of the documentation, but I don't know that the SDK can ask a BES for sure. But in the end, you need to set the PushSDK.properties flag to push public were false.

III. no the BES is not a limitation of 8 k.

IV. I'm not an expert on client applications, but I think you need to develop a version for BIS and a version for BES.

  • Can't push to the physical device but can push to the Simulator

Anyone know why I can't push my real BlackBerry but I can push to the Simulator?  I'm just accessing this site on my test pc and pointing to our production server BES.

    http://BES_Server:17080 / push? DESTINATION = MyPin & PORT = 7874 & REQUESTURI = localhost

I can't transfer blue in the upper right arrows on my device when I send the push. but my application it never receives.  What I put in REQUESTURI how?  If so, what it should be and where I put it in my application?  When I use the MDS assessment locally with the Simulator server, it works fine and sends push them to my fine application of the suggestions would be great!

I had the reliable port wrong number.  It doesn't seem to matter what I put that in the Simulator, but in the real device it Mater.
