  What is a flex framework? Is used with the FlashAuthoring tools?

  I read that a flex application has two frames and both runs a specific sequence. For example, one load the application and the RSL, the other and allows the application on the screen.

  We have recently improved in short Oracle with managerial experience 11.2. And our custom Flex localization has stopped working.

  The editor throws an exception saying "RSL Failed to load". It seems that the Runtime Shared Libraries (RSL) lack to 11.2. According to the application assembler developer guide, the following resources should be available in the repository of Configuration of short to the IFRC/tools/xmgr. But these are missing.

  • textLayout - 4.5.1.21328.swz
  • Spark - 4.5.1.21328.swz
  • CPP - 4.5.1.21328.swz

  We were able to solve this problem. It seems that in the tools & frameworks 11.2, included it Runtime Shared Libraries (RSL) are present under IFRC/tools/xmgr/js/ext / instead of IFRC/tools/xmgr /.

  If you use the Maven project in reference to the SDK of the editor, please make the following change in the POM.xml and re - build.

  The idea of the percentages, it's that you dedicate this amount from the container to the component if the width of the container is 200 and you have a left hand of the width of 30% it will be 60 pixels wide.

  You can also use a combination of percentage and fixed size to keep parts of the static display. For example, you have a menu on the left and a display on the right area, you assign the Panel left width = 100 and the width = 100% right panel, so the right panel still have a width equal to the width of the screen total-100;

  Percentages are just another way to manage the component layout when there is no gaureantee of sizes of parent such as different screen resolutions.

I am SAP consultant, I'm preety big application (not on the SAP platform but with PHP ZEND platform) to develop with table UI, Google Maps and other powerful visualization interfaces. I like Flex to work with. My work most of the side SAP so do not know the problems of possible performance with PHP and Zend.  My friends say don't turn out to be used Flex since it creates performance issues in the Web page.  I don't want to go with any other technology like JQuery or something. Is - what really this famous performance problem can anyone? If someone help me to understand how to improve the performance of FLEX RIA, it will be very useful to the mine. I'd appreciate any response.

  The answer is that a lot about people is due to ignorance:

  -In order to create a Flex application that works well, know both the bowels of the Flex framework and do not act against the underlying Flash Player. Many people try and rewrite things that exist in the Flex framework or upset the Flash Player.

• Flex 4.5 update

  Hello

  I noticed that there is an update for the 4.5 Flex framework, announced in June. This would allow the creation of Mobile Flex projects with full support of iOS. Does anyone know if this would allow loading external compiled code? Or maybe it is not authorized by iOS, so it has nothing to do with Flex.

  In the current version, using the Actionscript project Mobile, loading external swf files is not allowed.

• DataGrid broke with Framework RSL but fine when merged with code

  Hi people,

  I use and AdvancedDataGrid component in my application. I recently changed coupling framework "Merged into code" to "Runtime Shared Library. Unfortunately the datagrid's is more rendered correctly. A number of columns in the grid simply do not fill in again when I go back to the 'Merged' framework it everything works fine? Someone at - it ideas as to why this might be happening?

  Controls in the Flex Framework have been changed to use embedded fonts when using the RSL. As you have found, there is a bug in Flex 3.4 with AdvancedDataGrid. I don't know if the bug has been fixed or not. If you write please up a bug in JIRA. Thank you.

  If you create a game for an Android device I'd rather do it with Actionscript. The 'Heroes' of Flex framework for mobile is great, but in my opinion, created for applications not for games. You can still use some parts, but if you don't lists, buttons and type of component, then I would rather write them in AS3.

• Shortcut for the associated debug flex application

  Right now I'm working on an Actionscript * library * and I have a separate flex application that I use to test the library.  When I'm coding in ActionScript library and I want debugging, I have to move my mouse to the little Ladybird on my toolbar, click the arrow at the bottom, then select my flex app test.  ARG!  I'm too lazy.  It is possible to connect a shortcut (like F11) to run the flex app test?  When I hit F11 when I am coding in the library of SA that it does not do anything because he's not smart enough to know I want to launch the Flex app rather than the library of SA.   I have an SDK 3.5 Flex app, and I'm creating a component using TLF. What is oldest configuration I can pursue in order to be able to load the new component in the Flex 3.5 application and still be able to use the TLF?

  If I use the TLF, should I use sdk 4? is there another way to use it with an older sdk?

  TLF is straight actionscript and is not the Flex framework. You should be able to use it in any version of Flex 3 as long as you are targeting Flash Player 10.0 and above, but this has not been tested intensively. In Flex 3, you will be limited by using the TLF classes directly or make your own components based on these classes.

  Flex SDK 4, you have access to all of the spark of components that use the TLF. These components have a lot of functionality already built into what you'd have to code yourself in Flex 3.

• Flex 2 app doesn't load after the RSL frame

  After reading the chapter Runtime Shared Library to a Flex 3 book, I decided to make the Flex framework a repetitive stress, in a Flex 2 application (link Type = RSL for all libraries in Flex). After it rebuilt, a bunch of created SWF files, as planned (charts.swf, flex.swf, framework.swf, playerglobal.swf, rpc.swf and utilities.swf); I placed, as well as the usual application files (Main.swf, Main.html, etc.), in my usual Web Server directory. Even if the book mentions Flex 3 year SWZ file that I didn't get (gets cached in Flash Player), I thought that the SWF files don't get set cached in the browser.

  Unfortunately, when I go to the URL of the application from a browser, I don't get past that wont Flex gray background...

  
  I would be really grateful if someone could help me understand what I am doing wrong.

  You can't load playerglobal.swf as a RSL. Try to load one RSL, say framework.swf and get success here instead of trying to load a bunch of RSL at the same time. You should load only RSL you really need because they occupy memory space in the application.

  I recommend that you recompile your application with Flex 3. Flex 3 contains signed RSL (SWZ files) that is cached by the player.

• My Flex components constantly throw error: #1009

  In a user interface, we've created, we use many elements drawn in flash and exported using the flash components.  Almost any time there is a user interaction this components, or if the application loses focus, it throws error 1009.  This problem is so prolific, that we can not find the cause.  Here are a few of the error stack traces:

  The above happened when I clicked on a flex component exported from flash this is a clip that contains only a text field.

  This looks like a bug.  Workaround should be to change the focus to something else before removing a component from the stage.

• [Flex 4] Application not including the Spark components

  I am building an application based on the module where a main application SWF load several SWF Module to be used in the application. I noticed a strange problem in loading the Modules. If I do not have a certain component (for example: spark.components.Panel) compiled manually in my SWF application, it does not compile in at all. I assumed that the entire Flex framework was automatically compiled into the main SWF (or an RSL) file by default.

  Perhaps, I put the bad things. I build the project with Ant, so my tasks look like this:

  I'm not having problems or warnings to the compilation of the code above. Is there something I'm missing here? Do I have to manually incorporate the classes/swc? I use Flex 4.0.0.7219.

  Only the classes used are linked in.  If you use the RSL will be available, they are not initialized until use
