  I use the search function but did not find a question quite like this - little surprising?

  A family member gave me a laptop Aspire 5100 that no power, fear of the system board.  Not seem to receive a wave of newer computers with bad cards system.  The label on the back of the laptop with the number of series & NSID is faded & I can't do all the numbers.

  Since I will very probably be pulling apart anyway is everywhere, maybe inside, where the serial number or the SNID could be printed?

  The manual lists this laptop to use ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100 or Xpress1200 chipset - I can't tell the difference between the two.  All system boards for sale seem to only list Xpress 1100 chipset that will probably work but a little clarification on Xpress 1100 vs 1200 would be nice.

• Unable to get the serial number validated

  My colleague bought a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for me to use on a project I'm working on that.  However, when installing it, I'm not able to validate the serial number. First, he claims that my computer is offline (which is not the case).  Then, when I try to do a manual with the response code and everything, I get an error message that the serial number entered is not valid and I should reinstall the product and generate a new Code to ask with a serial number valid.  I tried once, but it does not solve the problem.  Please advise what I have to do to get the work permit.

  First time running Acrobat XI said serial number valid but is not supported product.

  In the case of a purchase of upgrade she tries to confirm the eligibility of the uopgrade, but is not finding the eligible previous version to be upgraded.  If you have the serial number for the previous version which should be sufficient for confirmation.

• Serial number valid?

  I just bought Photoshop CS6 extended to eBay. He came with a serial number, but will not be installed correctly. For example, when I try to run Bridge in PS menu, I get an error. It also appears in the Windows Start menu.

  I suspect it is a copy hacked, while the disc looked professional.

  Is there a way I can check whether or not it is a valid serial number? I tried to call Adobe Support, but I can't understand how to respond to their guests so that I get a live person. He just hangs up on me.

  I think I found the answer.

  I went to this page that allows you to register a product:

  He told me incorrect serial number, so I guess that's my answer.

  I asked for a refund from eBay and it appeared in my Paypal account about 30 seconds later, so is not even discuss with my accusation that it is false.

  I just bought a new one off eBay in a sealed box factory for about twice the price, so I hope that it will be legitimate.

  I deleted my Macbook Pro and reinstalled OS 10.11.2. I downloaded Acrobat Pro 11 and reinstalled. I used the serial number correct and received the error message: "invalid serial number but qualifying product is not found." Crazy because I downloaded the qualifying Adobe product.

  Perhaps you feel the meaning of the qualification of product?

  You have downloaded and installed Acrobat XI and entered your serial number upgrade.

  This means that you upgraded to Acrobat XI to a version earlier than for example Acrobat X or Acrobat 9. This version is known as the "release candidate". It qualifies you for a discounted upgrade price if you are eligible to use the upgrade serial number.

  Thus, in the drop-down list, select version X or 9 and enter the serial number of X Acrobat or Acrobat 9.

  Then your Acrobat XI installation is complete and the software can be activated.
