  To do this the same way as you would on a physical Windows 2008 system. Just edit the network settings.

  Another option would be to install a reservation in your DHCP for the MAC address of the virtual machine. (if you have configured mode bridged for the VM)

• Backups fail on Small Business Server 2008

  We have a Small Business Server 2008 which has only backup, with the following error;

  Backup started on October 3, 2014 10:30:07 'failed with following error code ' 2155348010' (one of the backup files could not be created.). Please rerun backup once the problem is resolved.

• SQL Server Setup fails due to error XML Serializer

  I tried (19 times) to install SQL Server 2008 Express on my Windows XP Home Edition with SP 3. Whenever it produces a "generation of the document XML error". I contacted the support for the software vendor of the program that requires SQL Server must be installed. • SITE v2.0 failed Installation on Windows server 2008 R2 with SP1

  Installing CPID v2.0 on Windows server 2008 R2 with SP1, the Setup log reported that the installation failed with the error "CustomAction RollBackSccmComponents returned error code 1603"

  I run the Setup with this command after you open the command prompt as 'Run as administrator ':

  MsiExec.exe /i Dell_Client_Integration_Pack.msi

  I even put the command above into a batch file and run it with the same result. With the help of Trace32, I also found this error to be the main problem causing the failure of this facility:

  "custom action InstallSccmComponents unexpectedly closed the hInstall (type MSIHANDLE) handle provided. The custom action must be set to not close this handle.

  Autour Googling, I came across this link: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/f/4448/t/19416814.aspx to try to perform the steps below, but when I did the steps below, the installation just rolled back without even beginning the installation:

  I found myself by opening a ticket with Dell to get this problem finally solved. After the installation of Dell's Support log shipping, they asked me to follow these steps below:

  1 if the SQL DB is on a separate machine, try to create the "SMS_TaskSequence_Action" class in WMI under \\.\root\sms\site_ >.  You can download WMI Explorer to browse if you want to see if this class already exists.  Run the script below will not hurt if it already exists.

  a. here are the instructions to create the custom class.  First open powershell as an administrator.

  b. set-executionpolicy RemoteSigned

  c. change the extension on the attached in .ps1 file and change the file to replace the "site_abc" by "site_their 3 letter site code.

  d. change the storage location of the ps1 file.

  e... \WMIClassAdd.ps1

  f. restart and try the installation again.

  3. If it still does not work, send me the newspaper install again to look at.

  Then... on the SQL Server event logs returns this:

  However, the SQL Instance IS configured to enable mixed mode authentication.

  I can't work on what I missed, and I can confirm if I'm actually to a compatibility issue between the gateway and the version of SQL server, that we are now trying to connect.

  Is the user name in your SQL Server database in the capital, mixed mode letters or small letters?

  Currently, you have created a database link that tries to authenticate on the server SQL using SQLUSER in capital letters. If you use mixed or small letters, so be sure to write the user name (and password) as it is in the create database link statement and surround it with double quotes.

  If you have created the link of database correctly, try an ODBC connection for example from your client and add the user name and password. Does it work?

  In the scheduler.log the error we see is: "connection failure task execution error: unavailable status code.

  If we redirect the task in an output file, we see: "Login failed."

  I've seen other people having this problem as well, we tried the keystore process, as well as change the authentication in IIS, but none of these have solved the problem. If anyone can help?

  I'm trying to backup of a domain controller with the syncsort backup software. Currently when I try to run a backup job job errors. I worked with the support of syncsort and have located the question to be a vss of NTDS writer. After the reboot the box, everything seems fine but if I try to run a task, that the particular author (NTDS) States that it is "out of resources." I'm not sure whats causing this or how to check.
