Service Pack 1 of Windows Vistat kB936330
Hello
I recently had to restore to factory settings a computer I bought in 2007-8. Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium. It is a 32-bit. Software security for the moment is just essential windows until that everything has been reinstalled.
The factory restore went well as did do all the updates, or so I thought.
Then I tried to update my browser and I was told that I needed Windows Vista Service Pack 2. I tried this installation, but he informed me that SP1 was not installed.
I double checked this as to my knowledge, the automatic update was installed there. It seemed not asking then I checked the automatic updates and it is located and click on install. It seemed to install correctly, but the next day when I tried again to install the pack 2, it said 1 pack has not been installed.
I tried the automatic update and method of updating microsoft windows online, but then he is told that it has been installed, service pack 2, which requires that he said he was not etc.
I am at a loss at what to then as my tech know how is limited so all the answers that explain what to do will have to be detailed enough I guess.
From the information I gathered that I seem to need Windows Vista Service Pack 1 KB936330
In the updates of review section that seems both installed, but this article does not allow you to uninstall. In the section updates installed, (where you can uninstall), I don't know what it would be under because nothing says specifically that it is Windows Vista Service Pack 1 KB936330 and I do not know how to find spare parts for the pack to uninstall if it has been separated in this way.
I would be grateful for any help especailly as I have a ton of work to finish before January.
When I have time (2014 mb)
On the other would be there no more easy or even possible to remove all of the operating system and install a new and more up-to-date, and if so what kind of the new operating system able to install on my computer?
The system update tool

I tried many times to print a simple USPS shipping label today, I could download a USPS 88 page manual, but not the program to print the label or the label. They say that if I use Windows XP Home Edition, I have Service Pack 4 or later. I can't find any reference to Service Pack 4 on Microsoft help programs.
Now I'm wondering if there is a solution about my fate. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank youThere is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.

Full service pack 2 for Windows Vista update problem
I'm bad havivg update to service pack two for Windows Vista Edition full. After I download and install the package it says then return back to the previous windows instalation. This whole process takes seven or eight hours. Then, I get so sort of little box on a black screen with some kind of error message and code. The last time I did this update I have re-installed a clean windows all over vista. So I lose some files. Then, Windows stores some of the files on the instalation of windows prior to an old file of windows. So what should I do to solve this problem? Is there a quick fix to this problem? Anybodys help is appreciated.
Bye, narrating
Hello Michael,
Thanks for your help, but I downloaded the utility Windows install cleanup a few days ago and installed it. Today, after I first started my computer, I got a notification down in the lower right of my screen saying new updates are available. I clicked ok on update for service pack 2 and installed successfully.

Addition of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP Home Edition creates the system failure
We have an older Compaq Presario that came with Windows XP Home Edition. [a Pentium 1 2005]
I try to install Windows Live Onecare (free Qwest). When I update our Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3, when I reboot I get a black screen that says that there is an error with a recent change of hardware or drivers. So I boot safe mode.
There has been no hardware changes.
I did a destructive restore by using the Compaq recovery disk which is supposed to wipe the drive and reinstall everything.
I can update Windows XP with service pack 3 and everything works. When I install Windows Live Onecare, at the next restart I get the same black screen and need to start in safe mode.
I can do a destructive restore and load Windows Live Onecare and work without any problem as long as I do not install Service Pack 3.
I tried to make recovery of Windows with the same results. I can do a restore before any point where I do not have the Windows Live Onecare and the Service Pack 3 and everything works fine.So I guess that there is a conflict between Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Live Onecare on this computer. I have both works well on other computers in our home network, but they are Pentium III or higher.
Anyone know if there is a difficulty, or just simply never through my XP Home SR3?
TIA, LR0451

Windows error system32\rtkrnlpa.exe. loading service pack 3 for windows xp
I get a windows/system32/rtkrnlpa.exe is open, or inuse by another application when I try to download service pack 3 on windows xp?
help please
Hello
1. have you connected external devices other than the keyboard and mouse?
2. what security software is installed on your computer?
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Disable temporarily the security software and then try to load Service pack 3 and check if the problem persists.
Follow the steps to temporarily disable the security software:
a. right click on icon antivirus on the left corner of the taskbar.
b. click Exit or settings and temporarily disable the security software.
Warning: If you need to temporarily disable the security software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 2:
Put the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to load Service Pack 3 and check if it works.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Note: once you have completed troubleshooting try the steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.

Service Pack 3 for Windows XP does not recognize that it is connected to the USB ports. I get a notice that something has been plugged, but Windows fails to recognize regardless of the question.
Disconnect all USB storage.
Run this tool by do right click and choose 'run as administrator '.
Of course, all first extract it:

If your XP is 32 bits, use the Win32 folder.
Reset.
If you still can't find the drive, assign it a drive letter in disk management.
