  I tried to install windows 7 on my new sshd (seagate 1 TB 5400 RPM sshd), as my old hard drive died. However on the installation procedures, after that the sshd is partitioned, windows is unable to complete the installation. I heard that the error lies in the version of windows being installed. I'm sure I'm installing Windows7 Home Premium, without SP1. For installation of windows 7 on the new SSHD must be the SP1 with her.   If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it.  You try to install Vista and get the error.
  You've restarted the Vista installation?  So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista?  You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista.   The system configuration required

  I have a setup of multiple hard drive; the primary drive is an SSD, with user files that are on other readers.  I placed the installation files on the main drive, however.  My earlier copy of Lightroom worked on my build of Windows 10 - I started only see this problem after a fresh Windows installed on the new SSD.  As I paid $142 for a license, I would like to use this software, but I will move to free software, if I have to.  Very frustrating.  Also, I searched around these forums and the internet in general before posting.

  I was able to speak with an Adobe representative today (finally).  After a few hours, he had me run a command with administrator privileges prompt and create a new administrator account by using the command

  NET user administrator / Active: Yes

  
  

  Once I did, I rebooted several times and logged under the new administrator account and successfully installed Lightroom.  I logged on my previous account and opening of Lightroom succeeded.  However, I've had updated Lightroom Mobile Trial version to the full version licensed by clicking on Lightroom help > updates.

  At only took about 2 weeks...  But thank you for your attention.

  I'm doing a clean re install of Vista on my computer. After booting from the installation CD, everything goes well until what happens to a point where it says "finish installation" (I get green check marks next to "copy of windows files, expansion of files, installation of the features and install updates").  Once it gets to the point "finish installation", it just gets stuck.  Finally, all I get is a blank screen with a cursor.  I tried this several times with the same result.

  The computer will not start, even in safe mode (probably because that it doesn't have a full OS on it more).
