Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 Service Pak 2 will not update
Today, I upgraded my Vista Ultimate Edition of Windows 7 Ultimate and checking the updates it listed 10 important updates. I went back in and there was still the major update 1 "Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 Service Pak 2 (SP2) who refuses to update which results in an error. I tried several times with the same error that results. Any suggestions as to why?
The update could not update with no error code, just says 'update failed." However after that restart and check the view of the update the update again must have occurred because it is no longer returns in search of updates. Thanks for responding to my problem

I have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 service pak, I also Microsoft NET Framework 3.0 installed service pak. My question is can I remove Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 service pak and just let Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 service pak? Thanks for your time... Steve
Unlike the definition of "versions" that apply to most software, in the case of .NET, Framework 3.0 is not simply a newer version of the 2.0 Framework. Applications written for 2.0 will continue to use 2.0 and applications written for 3.0 will continue to use 3.0. My advice is to leave them both on your system unless you know for a fact that you do not have applications that use one of these versions.

Is it safe to remove the service paks
Once the service paks are downloaded is it safe to remove them from compartments of download with the add-in and remove the program to secure space?
You should not remove the Service Pack, but you can store if you wish (noting once you've done that you don't ' be able to uninstall service packs).

Increase the memory by deleting the old service paks.
Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?
Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?
Not the way you think about it no doubt.
When you install Windows updates, the system stores the information that can be used if you decide that you want to uninstall this update. If decide you want to NEVER uninstall the updates, you can delete these folders from $ $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx (though it would be prudent to burn these files on a CD first). For instructions, seehttp://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm
There are several other things you can do to free up hard disk space, although more sooner rather than later, you should just buy a larger hard drive. You may be able to add a second hard drive if you have a desktop computer with a vacant drive bay or you can simply replace your existing with a larger hard drive. Where you replace, you would "clone" existing than newer, bigger hard drive in order to preserve all your applications and data.
In the meantime:
Run Disk Cleanup: start > run > cleanmgr > OK
Make sure that the system restore use not more than about 1 GB. See http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html
If you use Hibernation, consider disabling. It's not earning a lot of disk space: hibernation uses a quantity of disk space equal to the amount of RAM you have. Control Panel > Power Options > hibernation.
Uninstall applications you do not use.
Download and run JDiskReport (it's free, and you can uninstall it when you're done). This will show you what files are too much space on your hard drive so that you can decide what, if anything, you are ready to delete (or move to other storage media) in order to save space.

When I check the update of windows told me that I must go down load windows vista service pak 1, so I do the download and in a few days it says I need to download the same service pak 1. I can't get to download service pak 2 because I repeat that I need service pak 1.
Hello
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.
Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299
Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468
Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669
And if you have any problems:
There is a Forum that Microsoft has put in place for problems with Vista Service Packs. If repost you the Forum they will definitely try to help you here...
