services.msc logs under "Local System account" instead of "This account" (previous setting for all) on WinXP SP3

Just recently had problems to Windows Update and Windows Installer that were solved by Maurice N.  When you restart the Windows Installer service (again), I noticed that all the services loading of ' run: services.msc' happen under the Local System account. "  Is this a problem?  Found the remarks after a search online, which implies that it is not a good idea.  Previous setting was 'This account' suggestions on the evolution of this return?  I tried to change, but nothing happened.

The Windows Installer Service must be on the Local System account.  I would fix the manual start, since he does not need to be put forward at every reboot and it works day and night to do nothing.  If you set it to manual, it will start when it needs start.

This is true for many Services - as in Help and Support for example.  The 'experts' Support committed by Microsoft engineer will tell you always for this set to automatic, but it the Manual value and you will have more memory and CPU to the things that really matter.

Please provide a link to the Web pages where read you otherwise.

If you want to learn more about the Services of XP, I was looking at the site WWW Viper Black here.  Chances are that you have many Services running, you can do without.

Depending on how much Service tweaking you did on your system and which components you have installed, you should define most of all THE Services to the Local System account.

On my system, sort the list of services by the "Log on As" column, the exceptions referred to in this PROVISION of account/NT would be:

Customer DNS (automatic)
Performance logs and alerts (disabled)
Remote procedure call (RPC) (automatic)
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator (manual)
Windows Media Network Sharing Service (disabled)

You can have more or less depending on what you have installed.  If you are not sure, ask.

P.S. The technician 'expert' advice of technical support to run sfc/scannow has absolutely nothing to do with it.  It's just another one of their wild goose hunting support technician to receive credit for responses with links to KB articles that have nothing to do with your problem and will only waste your time.  You describe not as symptoms suggestive of a corrupt user profile.  It's a real shame.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Forum of the Microsoft community.

Given that your problem is a domain account, governed by different group policies, he needs to have checked whether administrative privileges have completely been provided to the local user. I would recommend so post your query in the TechNet Forums for best expertise on this issue.

  • After my computer starts, before that I can log in, the system restarts again. This continues to repeat in a row.

I have Microsoft XP Professional. My computer is Dell. The new thing is happening now, as when I start the system, it starts normally. Then I go my usual login and password to enter. But before that I can do this, the system restarts again. This goes into endless reboot cycles. I don't know what is happening.

This is usually caused by a bad deletion of malware on your computer.  Somehow, you have to boot from a CD that allows you to change the file system or the registry files.

The following link shows how this can be fixed by starting with a BartPE disk (go to paragraph "registry value incorrect that prevents you to log on to your user account in Windows XP?")
I find this freeware Hirens Boot CD is easier to create and can be used to follow the same steps.

    Hi my names daniel

Can someone help me on my problem?

    Hi Daniel,.

I think you are referring to the recovery of the system for the restoration of the system, I want to know if it's something else.

    (1) what is the complete error message you receive?

    (2) to clarify, you try to run the system restore from recovery Windows (WINRE) or in the Office environment?

    (3) remember you to make changes prior to this problem?

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start the computer using safe mode and then try System Restore. To do this, follow the steps below:

Access Advanced Startup menu options by turning on your computer and pressing the button F8 continuously until Windows starts. In the boot advanced options, select Mode safe

    Startup options (including safe mode)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: Put the computer to an earlier point in time where everything worked well. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

Method 2: You can run chkdsk to repair bad sectors on the hard drive in safe mode or from the Windows recovery environment.

Run the check disk from the Windows recovery environment

) a command of Windows access (as shown in the link below) recovery: run the disk check to repair bad sectors on the hard disk.

    (b) at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

    (c) now, type chkdsk /r and press enter

Any help would be great thank you... westcoastdago :))

You can deny access to your program executable files to the guest user if you wish.  Follow the steps here:

"How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP"

To do this, you must Access the 'Security' tab in the file properties.  In XP Pro, you should disable "Simple file sharing" to access this tab:

"How to disable the file sharing simple and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP"

If you have XP Home Edition, you must boot to Safe Mode and login with a user with administrative privileges to access this tab.

  • How to create the user account of readonly for all devices to CISCO ACS?

Elements of strategy > ... > Authorization and permissions > The peripheral Administration > Shell profiles > Edit: 'ReadOnly '.

I tried all levels of privilege, but I am unable to connect to the "asdm" with only the privilege to read.

    so, can someone help me?

I'm not an expert on all devices, but I can tell you that while you can use a name of user and password to access all devices, you can't have a "generic" set of rules. AAA services operate different based on the model/platform. For example, ASAs, WLCs and Nexus devices are completely different compared to the standard IOS routers and switches. For this this situation (ASDM read-only), you must check for this useful post:

  • Is there a way to Illustrator CS6 run under a standard account of Windows XP?

I spoke with Support Adobe by phone and the only answer I could get was that Illustrator must be run under an administrator account.

For those who are interested to help understand it:

It is installed on a corporate network, for this purpose distributing of privledges admin is not the preferred solution. I have a privilege Manager that allows the directories and the files and folders within a period to be executed with administrative privleges so I thought with C:\Program Files\Adobe\, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ and C:\Documents and Settings\ < USER > \Application Data\Adobe\ all allowed to run high that might work. Unfortunately what he did not.

After further review, I noticed that when I try and run as long as Illustrator, Illustrator.exe will start under this user name of users, but only for a few seconds and then end with no error or an event in the event log. However if I do a runas and use credentials, Illustrator.exe works as SYSTEM and opens perfectly fine.

No matter which ever race in this or have any suggestions?

    Thanks advance.

It worked, but after checking on a new installation, I have concluded that the previous installations of CS3 and CS5 are causing the problem. Redefinition of the PC solved the problem.

  • Why after you remove files, process always listed in Services.msc?

I hope that my question is not bore you, because it isn't so alertly urgent and important to receive a response, but still this question that bothers me.

Why after you remove files, process always listed in Services.msc?

That's what's happening: I'm working on deleting all files AskToolBar from my PC. Since there was no uninstall option in configuration-program Panel, I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - a good! , and wound manually all ask toolbar files and delete the. There were also a few others traveling with her, I got rid of them too. I removed all the AskToolBar of my 2 browsers (Internet Explorer and Chrome) influences.

OK, so I went into services.msc and stopped Ask options here too, but why when I already deleted Ask - s, this UPDATE SERVICE REQUEST rest still there? Could I remove there too?

I made some photos to show you that, when try to start it again confirms, I already deleted the files, but I want to completely remove it, is it possible?

    Thank you!

  • Access my account to Games for Windows - LIVE 3.0

Whenever I try to log in with my account to Games for Windows - LIVE, an error occurs. He said: I can not connect no problem first of all an account. My Xbox.com account, however, is in perfect condition (and it is comprehensive, as well). I really don't know what to do, because when I have access to the link that was suggested by the program (Games for Windows - LIVE), I always get into my page at Xbox.com, but everything goes well with my account here.
The error code is: 80154017 (and I've not found in my research to the Microsoft Web page).
I really hope that this error can be resolved as soon as possible, because most of the games I own use Games for Windows - LIVE to connect online.
My operating system is: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (32 bit).
    Thank you.

    Hi Redfah,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

It seems that the country in which you are located is not a country supported for LIVE services.

The Games for Windows LIVE service is available only for a limited set of countries.

Unfortunately, if you are not located in one of those, you will not be able to use these services.

A full list of supported countries can be found on the given link:

    http://www.Xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm

You can also check with the Xbox support for the updated list of countries.

I tried to watch the last questions in this Web page before this announcement. I'm using a desktop computer NEC and somehow, every time that I boot on my computer, then I logged

on my account, "System Event Notification Service does not work. Contact your administrator... "blah blah blah. I tried using Services.msc and administrator
However, I use my computer now on safe MODE and Normal mode. Oh yes as I'm in safe MODE, I can't start anything in Services.msc. I can, however, restart the services, but it doesn't seem to work.  Someone help me turn my computer back to normal? : D

    Hi Chuayujie,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. are you able to work on your computer in normal mode after receiving the error message?

If you can boot into normal mode, you can try to perform a SFC scan and see if it helps.

You can run scanning of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

For more information, you can consult the following link.
