• How to set the default text for a text entry area dynamically?

  I do a simulation and grabbing a my user text entry.  I store in a variable and you want to use as the default text for a text entry later in the simulation box.  It seems like it would need current for a software simulation.  However, I don't see a way to set the default text.  If I put the variable in a legend, I would use the syntax $$variablename$ $.  I tried to fix this in the text by default, but it did not work.  It is not interpreted as a variable.  Does anyone do this?  Please share.  Thank you.

  Starting from the same account, I can use different types of screens: low and high DPI. I would like to have the font size (and more generally, the zoom level) right of each screen.

  To set the default zoom level, you can set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx, but we can't define it it fixed-value, which is not OK, because I would like that the value depends on the environment (as for the font size in the menu which is always OK, because it depends on the resource Xft.dpi X 11).

  Note: I have several profiles, while it is not even possible to write a wrapper that could modify the prefs.js file, because I don't know in advance which file would I need to change.

  One possibility would be to use the mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder.
  This file can contain JavaScript that runs with full chrome privileges and it it not difficult game of the pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to a correct value for the screen currently attached.
  You will need to know how to calculate the dimensions of the screen.

• How to set the default browser after update 35.0

  I've just updated to version 35.0 today. Now, every time I restart my browser that asks me to make Firefox the default browser. I've always said yes and check the box to remember. It does not work. Research help and did what was told to go into Control Panel, then programs and by setting the default value for it. That no longer works. I've never had this problem before. I'm at a loss to know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  You can check for problems with preferences.

  Delete possible user.js and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

  I need a way to set the default size of the popup window on a specific area or all areas (whichever is easier). There is a particular site that pulls up a PDF in a pop-up window, and always default to a small window, but I need full screen.   I can set up my laptop with an additional monitor as extended desktop.  By going to the followed control panel display I can manually fix the default setting for the two monitors side by side, to have one on the other.

  However, every morning when I do my laptop in to work and reconnect to the extra monitor I have to redo it.  Is there a way to set the default display settings so that it affects automatically two monitors as one above the other?
