Set up vimeo or youtube video in interactive PDF InDesign CC

Hello!

I've read several articles about it but can't find a way to solve this problem:

, I have created an interactive PDF using InDesign CC and I would like to embed vimeo and youtube videos to play directly in the file. When I insert the URL does not work because it starts by https:// (not http://). Deletion of obviously the doe "s" does not solve the problem because he says it's not compatible with Flash Player.

Is there anyway that I can fix this?

I decided to create an interactive PDF only because I wanted to be able to integrate online videos!

You can not. Several years ago YouTube was a Flash API for direct playback of video integrated inside a SWF file of parent (the only way to do it in a PDF file), but it also allowed the population to ignore advertising, so they we closed. The current API only supports the incorporation of HTML for web pages.

The URL 'embed' to sites like YouTube and Vimeo is a link to their web page, not the video file itself (legally you can't link directly to the video stream so I will not explain how it could be done). Acrobat video player will not accept a URL that points to the video file or a stream RTMP connector, that's why the URL must end with a valid extension like ".mp4."

The only options are:

  1. Stir all of the video file in the PDF - assuming you have a copy, and have the right to publish it. Easier to do, but the size of the file can be a problem.
  2. Host the video file on your own website and put the HTTP link in the annotation dialog box (simple but anyone can download a copy, is not safe).
  3. Listen to the file using Adobe Media Server (course but very expensive).

I have an interactive pdf with embedded video. PDF is made by InDesign and has the mark of 'playing the loading of the Page '. It works normally on computers Windows different DC Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Reader 11: video starts automatically after the page loads. But on some other computers Windows with Acrobat Reader 11this does not work, and the user must press the "play" button to start the video.

    The file is not protected.

  • Streaming video to interactive PDF

I read everything I can on this subject, and although it seems that I should be able to do, I couldn't so far to make it work!

My dilemma: Create an interactive PDF to InDesign CS6, and I would include links to various video streaming in the pdf.  I would like that they are running in the PDF (as a floating window), not going out to the web browser to users.  I would like people to read, and then play that their new if they wish to listen, aka, loop, I guess.

My attempts: I created the play button (to start the video) in InD and when I exported in PDF format, I tried to put the video up there.  I had minimal success with this route.  I have also tried to do all this directly in InD, including the link to the video, but had no success.

I downloaded two different Flash players for replacement and tried to make two of them work, but without real success.  However, I admit well that I'm not as technically savy as what they expect, because I don't really understand the whole of the party "do this in Java.  I tried to copy their stuff of script in and replace my info where I've seen it do, but apparently, there are other ongoing things that I don't get.

Help!  If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very happy.  Or even if there is a place you can fly me to learn how to do it, I'll go.  So far, most of the stuff has been programmatically over my head, although I'm not a new user to the Creative Suite, unfortunately, it was all impression.

There is currently a limitation in the way that InDesign CS6 implements rich media, as well as the floating window options are not available if the media asset is referenced with a URL (there is no technical reason why it wouldn't work and it may well be possible in a future version of InDesign, but I make no promises). You also can not work around the problem by placing the SWF player widget, as InDesign doesn't let you define FlashVars or attach resources to an annotation of media.

Yes, in your case it would be more effective to work on the videos in a separate vacuum if you do not trawl by a too complex structure tag, then copy / paste them in the actual file.

In terms of the marking system forum, that a response can be "correct", but several can be 'useful '. It's your choice as to which is which.

Overview of Apple is NOT a reliable PDF, only Adobe Acrobat Viewer programs are supported by the standard PDF complete.

But when it comes with movies, only Acrobat 9 and X, supported since XI you need additional Flash player installed to view it, it would not to see on mobile devices.

  • How can I set all the new links window to open in tabs, but always get out YouTube videos?

I generally prefer the setting "open links that open in a new window in: new tab."

The only problem is that this causes the 'Pop Out' with the right function button in YouTube videos to also open the video in a tab instead of a window.

Does anyone know a way to get just the YouTube "pop out" work without changing my preferences each time?

I get a small new window pop it seems to match the resolution of the video.

Could check you some settings in Firefox about: config preferences editor?

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste link.open and make a pause so that the list is filtered

You can reset all parameters that are not defined by default (the default items should appear in bold). I think that the other is the criticism in this case.

    browser.link.open_newwindow

3 = divert new window into a new tab (by default) (checked *)

2 = allow the link to open a new window (uncontrolled *)

1 = new power window in the same tab

    * First checkbox in Options > Tabs (on Mac, Preferences > Tabs)

    browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction

0 = open_newwindow preferably in the spotlight for all new windows

2 = open_newwindow instead of honor for all new windows except windows with (default) features script

    1 = open_newwindow preference ignored (same effect as open_newwindow = 2).

    browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external

-1 = open_newwindow applies to external links (default)

3 = open external links in a new tab

2 = open external links in a new window

1 = open external links in the active tab

If you have Add-ons that alter the way tabs work in Firefox, they could be the substitution or modification of these parameters, so check those as well.

  • Possible quality 10 minute Youtube video?

    Losing my mind here.

Just shot a bunch of SD video with a Canon camcorder.

Based on the guidelines of the internet I've found, I did my first pass in the first for the initial set-up and audio corrections. I then use Adobe Media Encoder (if that's the right term), with the parameters of Quicktime video (for video quality), then the Animation for the codec (I'm doing this from memory right now, sorry if somethings wrong.)  The quality is 100%, and the size of the video is 720 x 480.  The video is massive, but high quality for editing.

I then go back to the video in After Effects to add subtitles, a water mark and any other nonsense that I want to do.   I use the queue to render with the same settings I do first and get a file even more important (usually 8 to 10 GB).

For my last pass above, I bring her to the Prime Minister for final treatment (I said that the Prime Minister is better than using After Effects... I think it has been a while).

It is where it gets difficult.  This is a file of 10 GB bloody, and Youtube allows only 2GB.  So I have to go and try a variety of different types of compression, and so far the only one I can find that adapts in fact he turns in an FLV of 720 x 480.  Yes, it is great, only 15 MB, but the audio and video quality goes directly into the toilet.

I would agree with this if all the Youtube videos were like this, but I see other sites set up their stuff and it's 10 times better.

Here is my final product (and Yes, links to my site):

There be a job here.  I certainly appreciate any help you can give me, because I have another dozen interviews to do and here the videos to be of better quality than this.

He took me out of the 12 MB file and put it in the file to 200 MB (which I imagine, bigger is better in terms of quality).

Yes!  There are limits, of course, where you put bitrate more in what she had in the quality first.  I would like to make the following experiments.  If the record is too long, I would identify a section in which appear the quality problems and stretching on the types of material.  Can I run a range of flow rates and read the files on the computer.  I would balance quality against no size limit for upload.

Can I take 2 or 3 of these and upload to youtube and vimeo (this is where the small clips will make a difference too) and see what I like.

  • Is no longer able to hear sound on youtube videos

Since upgrading to Firefox 23.0.1, I noticed that I had intermittent problems with no audio in Youtube videos. I've since discovered that, if I go on youtube for a video, there is no audio. The strange thing about it, however, if the video is linked through a forum, and I look at what he built through this forum, it works fine.

Other video sites (test site linked in the FAQ and videos on mozilla.org) work well. If I open the youtube video in IE, it works fine.

I tried the search of these forums and the internet in general, but I don't see something similar.

Issue seems to be specific to Flash. When I set my defaults to HTML5, any video which launches via HTML 5 works fine in Firefox. It is only when the video try to run via Flash that I had problems.

I crossed and uninstalled the flash plug-in and removed the flash from the PC, then did a clean reinstall. Whatever the problem, it is left for a new install of flash.

  • Can't view the YouTube video because there is an active filter. It happens on the job and home networks and only on Firefox (15.0.1).

After update 15.0.1 Firefox and Adobe Flash Player to 11.4, I was unable to view the media from YouTube. I was given a message: "this video is not available with the filter of education allowed.» To view this video, site network administrator will have to add to a playlist. I work for a school district and use my laptop at work so I thought that I got this message because YouTube is blocked on this network. But when I got home, I got the same message on my home network with YouTube videos. I have reset Firefox and he took care of the issue until I'm at work, and the problem happened again with the same message everywhere... I tried to post the same videos on another browser (Safari) and it works beautifully. I'm afraid that if I reset Firefox even once, I'm having the same problem.

It is possible that YouTube set a cookie to filter which can still be seen when you connect at home. To clear cookies for youtube.com, you can use one of these:

    (1) 'dialog show Cookies' tab in Preferences/Privacy:

Firefox > Preferences > privacy > 'view the Cookies '.

Type yout in the search box at the top to filter the list and remove each cookie individually.

    (2) "view Cookies dialog box" in the Page Info/Security tab:

While displaying a page on the site-

Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.

    -remove each cookie individually.

Then, try to reload the page and see if Youtube behaves differently.
