Seting place labview as a remote OPC client

I'm having trouble extraordinary setting LabVIEW as an OPC client on a remote computer.  I followed the guide of the OPC foundation on Windows (http://www.opcfoundation.org/DownloadFile.aspx?RI=326) dcom configuration.

On a single machine seems to have had some success.  Kepware quickclient using, I can connect and view the values for all of the tags on the server.  When I use the DSC module to set up a mutual FUND I can show tags, but it does not connect to the server ("Connected?" State of customer variable set to false).  I can't see the value of the flags.

On another machine I place, I can't reproduce the pooling at all.

I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.

Thanks for any help I can get.

    Dear members,

I want to access the data (from the Labview 8.6) which is on a PC of citect.  As I am not aware of citect, can someone explain me how to do this, if you had experience?

Using the mechanism of data taking, I think we can run, but what kind of arrangements are to be made on the side of citect. Is it likely that an OPC server to perform citect side, so Labview can act as an OPC client? How can I implement this? I went through examples OR Client.vi, Browse to Item.vi OPC OPC Demo.

  • Remote OPC c ++ dll

    Hello

I use an OPC Server (with Data Access 3.0) and I'm trying to develop an application Client OPC Labview on Windows Vista.

I also use a C++ DLL where the activities of the OPC client are made!

Everything works fine if I use this DLL OPC Client to an Application from the Console Windows C++, so I think that all the DCOM settings and other settings are fine.

But if I try to connect and read something with Labview remote OPC Server OPC and "call library Node function' then it is not possible to connect the DA-Session with the point DA!

Can someone help me? Is there a setting in Windows to Labview.exe necessary?

Local OPC Server work well (also with Labview).

    Thank you

    Hans

    I solved the problem (s)!

    Problems:

-Labview-> socket Data-> local OPC Server: OK, remote OPC: error

-Mit .NET or ActiveX OPC Toolbox Labview Client: local OPC Server: OK, remote OPC: error

    Solution:

    Add the line "ole. AuthnLevel = 1 ' in the LabVIEW.ini file.  (C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\LabVIEW.ini)

    Now it works!

  • VI for registration of remote OPC servers?

We use the engine tag DSC for save data from different remote OPC servers. DSC requires these OPC servers to be registered before connect you to them. To do this, we open the tag Configuration Editor and choose SERVER > BROWSE NETOWRK OPC SERVERS in the menu.

This set works well... but now, we want to automate the process. Is there a screw that we can use to register the remote OPC servers? As usual, I tried to search in the vi.lib\lvdsc folder, but I could not find what I'm looking for.

    Is this possible?

I guess it is to add a few touches the registry or DATABASE file. Maybe we can build a VI that add some keys in the registry? Any tips?

    John Paul,

All the used and registered remote server for LabVIEW DSC OPC are stored in the registry as you may have guessed. When you know exactly this registry stettings, you could create a LabVIEW VI with the register screw who writes specific keys in your registry.

What to write to what key?
    1. search on the remote computer recording for the OPC server. You can find it under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ for example, under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\National Instruments.OPCFieldPoint is a mutual FUND of NI Fieldpoint server.

    2. go to your computer where you want to save the remote OPC Server
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\LabVIEW DSC\Remote OPC servers
This is for DSC LV stored remote OPC servers. If the \Remote OPC servers is not the equipment you could generate this key. (just with default data folder)

    3. Add keys to own because it would be created by the GUI of TCE interface. Basically, you need to copy the same keys (OPC, CLSID, OPC\Vendor server name) as you found them at the point 1. the key to servers remote OPC with the difference that you add the computer name before the name of the server in square brackets.
For example, the tree would look like:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\LabVIEW DSC\Remote OPC servers
    ------(ComputerName) OPCServerName
    \CLSID
    \OPC
    \Vendor

The key data are the same settings of REG_SZ data found in 1.

If you need to register some of the servers remotely on multiple computers that I would recommend to export GUI TCE generated key via the regedit.exe and import it on any computer that would connect to the same remote OPC server.
If you want to automate the importation without the user interface of regedit.exe, you can call in a prompt, regedit.exe/i/s. E.g. regedit.exe/i/s c:\temp\Remote OPC for LV DSC.reg

DSC in the DATABASE file stores only the VI, proxies and servers IAK (obsolete).

    Hope this helps
    Roland

PS: Since it is manually facts and National Instruments does not provide documented APIs or screws to do such things - currently, it is recommended to use GUI TCE to register remote OPC servers-, it can not be guaranteed that this describes the procedure would work for the latest or other versions of LabVIEW DSC.

The client computer would need the engine to run LabVIEW. The conditions for this are detailed in the LabVIEW 8.6 Release Notes. With regard to the 'speed' internet should be - that depends entirely on the amount of information that is sent. This KB article details some of the browser requirements.

  • A heartbeat of Remote Desktop Client configuration

I have two Windows 7 computers: one is located in a remote location, and the other is in my office running Desktop Client (mstsc.exe) remotely and is connected to the "remote server". I only need to interact with the server if it generates an alert, otherwise, I just need to keep an eye on the remote screen.

If the link to the server goes down due to the instability of the network or a power outage on its end, the RDP Client will not display no error until I try to interact with the RDP session - and then it will take a few seconds before the session expires before the Client determines the server does not respond and tries to reconnect.
This means that unless I noticed that the RDP window has "frozen" or I move the cursor of the mouse on it, I often can't tell I've lost communication with the remote computer.

Is it possible to configure the remote desktop client to continually test if the connection to the server is active when I a RDP session works without having me manually interact with the RDP session?

  • Remote RDP client VPN access on ASA 5510

    Hello.

We have configured the VPN tunnel from site of offshore to the location of the customer using ASA5510 and access to RDP to the location of the customer. Also been configured remote VPN access in offshore location. But using the remote VPN client, we are able to get the RDP of officeshore location but not able to access to the location of the RDP client. Are there any additional changes required?

    Thank you

    Hi Salsrinivas,

    so to summarize:

the VPN client connects to the ASA offshore

the VPN client can successfully RDP on a server at the offshore location

the VPN client cannot NOT RDP on a server at the location of the customer

offshore and the location of the customer are connected by a tunnel L2L

(and between the 2 sites RDP works very well)

    is that correct?

    Things to check:

-the vpn in the ACL crypto pool?

-you're exemption nat for traffic between the vpn pool and 'customer' LAN? is the exemption outside (vpn clients are coming from the outside)?

-you have "same-security-traffic permitted intra-interface" enabled (traffic will appear outside and go back outside)?

If you need help more could you put a config (sterilized) Please?

  • Remote VPN client and Telnet to ASA

    Hi guys

I have an ASA connected to the Cisco 2821 router firewall.

I have the router ADSL and lease line connected.

All my traffic for web ports etc. of ADSL ftp and smtp pop3, telnet etc is going to rental online.

    My questions as follows:

I am unable to telnet to ASA outside Interface although its configuered.

Unable to connect my remote VPN Client, there is no package debug crypto isakmp, I know that I have a nat that is my before router device my asa, I owe not nat port 4500 and esp more there, but how his confusion.

    I'm ataching configuration.

    Concerning

It looks like a config issue. Possibly need debug output "debug crypto isa 127".

You may need remove the command «LOCAL authority-server-group»

NAT-traversal is enabled by default on the ASA 8.x version. So you don't have to worry about NAT device in the middle.

    Hello

Enable inspect ICMP, this should work for you.

    Policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default
    inspect the preset_dns_map dns
    inspect the icmp
    inspect the icmp error

    inspect the icmp

To configure the ICMP inspection engine, use the command of icmp inspection in class configuration mode. Class configuration mode is accessible from policy map configuration mode.

  • Certificate self-signed for remote VPN CLIENT access

    Hi people,

I am trying to achieve two-factor authentication, first with RADIUS & 2nd with self-signed certificate. If I generated of self-signed certificate & trying to import this certificate but error 39 that occur. Only obstacle that authenticate with certificate. I saw some documents for separate setting certifcate servers (CA) & then to import in the clients but I m curious about a certificate automatically generated can be used to authenticate the remote access client.

ASA additional server failover mode is Local CA is not supported. Is there a way to support local CA.

    Thank you

Are you talking about using self-signed client certificates? I guess that it will not work. At least it is not scalable. You must use an internal CA for this task. As the local certification authority cannot be used with failover, you can take a Windows Server 2 k 3 or 2 k 8. Another option is to use a router IOS as CA-server. But what take something else as a second factor? I'm a big fan of the use of smartphones with the www.duosecurity.com service.

  • What is the best way to connect the pipes to Labview? DDE or OPC

What is the best way to connect quizix pipes to labview?

Pipes share data by using Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), which is the best way? To use an OPC server between labveiw and pipes or DDE?

If the program manages DDE communication the best way is via a DDE, as LabVIEW handles this. Otherwise, you will need to add another instance (OPC Server) system that will make it more complex and causes more load.

See the previous link to the words 'to the help of LabVIEW as a DDE Client'.

  • Reverse road injection for remote VPN Clients

    Hello world

you will need to confirm if reverse road injection is used only for Site to site VPN?

Also to say that we have two sites using site-to-site vpn

    Site A                                                         Site B

    Private private IP IP

    172.16.x.x                                                    172.20.x.x

Now, as we VPN site to site, we can either activate the NAT - T option which will allow 172.16 IP reach site B as 172.16 only.

Do not change the IP address.

    Option 2

IF we don't allow NAT - T and if we allow injection road Revese and we use say Protocol ospf on ASAs in site A and B.

In this case, we allow IPPS so that we can announce the private road 172.16. on the internet right of site B?

    Concerning

    MAhesh

    Hello Mahesh,

"Reverse road injection (RRI) is used to fill in the routing table of an internal router that is running OSPF Open Shortest Path First () protocol or the RIP (Routing Information) protocol for Remote Clients VPN sessions or a local area network LAN."

    Source: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/asa-5500-x-series-next-generation-firewalls/107596-asa-reverseroute.html

As a result, allowed RRI ASA learn routing information for connected peers and advertising via RIP or OSPF.

NAT - T is automatically detected and used when the local or the remote peer is behind NAT.

    To answer your question:

If NAT - T is required and enabled, then it will automatically be used peer VPN. Then, with IPP in place, remote network will be added to the routing as static routes table, so they can be advertised by OSPF.

    HTH.
