setting up the environment

How can I change the environment settings to be less white? I can't read with the Adobe Acrobat Reader software, because it's too light and it's hurting my eyes.

Hi migueln33568031,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused. With DC, we have introduced a flat design and currently we don't have any option to change the background color of Toolbox.

You can fill out our feature request: feature request/Bug Report Form

Thank you

Yes, it is possible. On my computer windows vista laptop, I use my browser to connect, obiee installed on a Linux virtual machine. The virtual machine is built using "VMware Server 2" (free). The guest operating system is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 32-bit (and actually CentOS - 5.3 - i386-bin - DVD.iso http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/5/isos/i386/). • Setting up the environment of Applications Dev fusion Jdeveloper - version questions

I am facing problems regarding the versions of installed packages.

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/jdeveloper_and_fusion_applications_explained

The post was very useful. But the expansion of fusion development pack causes problems of version.
I installed 11.1.1.6.2 Jdeveloper on 32-bit Windows computer. I installed the packages, but four packages are in trouble.
One of the package is not installed because the minimum version required for oracle.ide (package) is 11.1.1.6.62.98 and existing is 11.1.1.0.11022.xxxxx(I j'ai oublié le nombre). How to get around these problems of version. Unless I have install the fa_dev_bundle.zip, I can't have a role of Fusion application customizations and extensions, right?

To summarize, there are some issues with the versions. Versions are earlier than necessary or there is any required version. How to solve this?

I would be happy if you can point to an another forum/page/documentation that can help me find a solution.

  • Setting up the environment of the APEX

    Hello

I have a series of questions to establish access to the APEX. The ability to use OSH has been discounted. We want to use a separate apache and struggling to configure mod_plsql. The license for mod_plsql indicates that it should not be used in this way. There is a valid alternative?

    Kind regards

It seems that in a first time listener of the Apex has been dismissed by licensing issues. I did research on this subject, but I'm a bit confused. If Apex earphone using WebLogic, is that I have to WebLogic server license? As I read, Apex license includes WebLogic, where we don't need license Weblogic and it's free, it's okay?

The apex is free. It works on XE, which is also free.
    ApexListener is free.
WebLogic (WLS) is one of the containers in which you can deploy ApexListener Oracle supported JEE. WLS is a licensed product.
The other supported Oracle JEE containers are Glassfish (licensed) and OC4J. ApexListener can also be run in stand-alone mode, although this is not recommended for Production environments.

ApexListerner also runs on other containers not - supported Oracle JEE as community Glassfish (Open Source) server, Tomcat, etc. By failure to load this means that you cannot trigger a SR on Oracle for these, you will need to depend on this forum and the consultants if you enter certain issues.

  • oraInst.loc setting up the environment cloned on the same OS.

    Hello

Currently, the physical server contains Linux x 86-64 OS, and there is one instance with R12.1.3.
But I intend to clone the existing instance to the point of different editing on the same server.
    Then the question comes oraInst.loc.

Currently, oraInst.loc is created in / etc /, owned by root with the following content.
    - - - - -
    inventory_loc = / oracle/oraInventory
    - - - - -

Then, oraInventory is created in / oracle /, belonging to oracle1, where oracle1 is the owner of the existing instance.
The cloned instance will be the property of oracle2.

In this case, there is no configuration to provide for oraInventory by cloning?
How it works in this case?

    Hello

    Please see
Global and Local inventory explained [360079.1 ID]

Let me give you a brief idea about it.

Currently, oraInst.loc is created in / etc /, owned by root with the following content.

If it is owned by root, ig he has 777 permissions, then new owner of db, said owner appl (oraclone, applclone) may also write in inventory.xml file.

To confirm the thism before cloning, you can run

    chmod-r a + rw/etc/oraInventory

Then, oraInventory is created under /oracle/, owned by oracle1, where oracle1 is the owner of the existing instance.
The cloned instance will be owned by oracle2.

IF the does'nt chmod above works, then change the owner of /oracleoraInventory to oracle2 ship... Now, this will create problems.

    Thank you

    # But data manipulation (insert/update), I should change the option
    # "Language for non-Unicode programs" in Chinese.

No, this is not necessary with SQL Developer. You just need to add the Chinese keyboard (IME) by going into Control Panel--> regional and language--> language tab Options--> details...--> Add... You can add any other keyboard layout that you may need, for example in Polish. Then, press left Alt + SHIFT (or other sequence configured) cycles between layouts allowing you to mix English, Polish, Chinese, etc., a single column value.

JavaScript is enabled by default in the browsers. Turn off (disable) is a manual process, which must be done by the end user.

JavaScript must be enabled in order to use the Adobe Download Manager.

You can download the Installer http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ offline without having to activate javascript. But there IS NO Adobe Reader (or Adobe Updater) affecting control javascript in browsers, or disable it automatically afer a download.

  • How to set up the Oracle environment...?

I have a new copy of Oracle Enterprise Linux with Oracle 11 g R1 installed.

Steps that I made and I am trying to understand...

    1. start the server OEL.
2 to login remotely using PUTTY, I connect to the OEL
    3. I'm setting the variables (ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID) with the "export".
    4. connect to sqlplus under sys with sysdba
5A started the database. Everything is fine!
    6. If I log out of PUTTY and log back all my step 3 variables have disappeared.
    7. you know by now, I can't start the Oracle database without error.

    My question is...

How to make the proper environment for the Oracle database?
Do I have to have the above two variable filled all the time. Should these two variables be part of any (for root) login script? Once the session (shell) must be running all the time?
    Missing link here. I'm learning.
    Thank you
    Smith

For starters, there are several environments shell could be defined as a default, such as: sh, csh, ksh, bash, tcsh, zsh or rc.
Depending on what shell environment you have defined, you can or will have a different startup file when you connect.

    But the fundamentals still apply:

For the most part, the first thing is that you should not run anything as root (related to Oracle).
Oracle must have his own user name and be part of the DBA group.
    Maybe you have entered.

Then Yes, your environment variables to be reset when you reconnect.
There are several ways to achieve this.

One of the most popular ways (although I do not necessarily), is to set the environment variables in your connection startup script.
for example, your .profile file (dot - profile). For ksh shell, for example, it runs at first upward when you connect, once your session has read the script/etc/profile to wide control panel.

If the environment variables are set correctly, they are exported, which is source as your login script runs.

(Which I prefer), is in turn, you can 'source' environment variables yourself.
It is again differently according to your default shell.
    For ksh, just type. . (I.e.: point-space-scriptfile)
It is important that you include a space between the point and the file to run.
This will make your additional windows in your main window and see these settings approx.

Another option, favoured by Oracle, is to set the Oracle $PATH in your login script (.profile or other) and then run. oraenv. (point-space-oraenv). Supply the parameters that are defined when you run the oraenv that defines things like your ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME.

  • The system could not find the environment that has been entered - option Windows 7

I don't know what I was doing at the computer before this problem started. However, I first noticed that something was wrong when I tried to open the photo viewer and was faced with the problem of the impossibility to find the module specified for this program. In an attempt to solve this problem, I tried to download and install the Photo Gallery in Windows Live and this is when I first discovered that my system has this problem.

I went online to search for solutions to these problems, but none of the solutions worked. Here are the steps that I tried in vain that the system could not find the environment option that was entered.

Once more, the next step on the start-up of the Installation DVD of Win 7 to use the Startup Repair tool doesn't have that the system was unable to find the environment option that was entered. I proceeded to try to use the system restore, but is facing the same problem too.

You can probably fix your problem by using the system restore. Here's how it works:
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3. Enter the administrator password when you are prompted. It is often empty.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. set Windows to a point before this problem occurred.

But I don't know that's the apps or applmgr.

    They have differnet env file?

    Thank you.

    Hello

applmgr is the OS user who has the system of Application files. If you open a session in PuTTY, or any other ssh tool user applmgr and define the environment.

Once you define the environment, if you want to connect to the database, then you must connect to the database using the user "apps". 'apps' are a database user.

Even if you want to start/stop services, you must run the command like this:

    • CD $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME
    • adstrtal.sh apps/apps

    To connect to the database:

    • sqlplus apps/apps

All these operations are performed as applmgr user (os) and only after that the environment is set.

    Gabriel Stabel

    Well, we found a solution.

In our case, the problem was a parameter missing (automatic by JDeveloper removal v11.1.1.7.1) in our page human task workflow configuration file (_TaskFlow.xml).

          bpmWorklistContext
          #{pageFlowScope.bpmWorklistContext}

Without this parameter, we had a problem in the customer environment, but not in ours. Probably of slightly different versions components question about.

With this setting the code below works in both environments.

    Jan S.

    Hi Jan,

    you have two options.

    (1) on your system only run time, you can use the APIs of the Forum (APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN) to manually create the workspace and the allocation of scheme.

    (2) use the JAVA export utility from the command line and specify the parameter - expWorkspace and - expMinimal (/ utilities/readme.txt) to export the workspace. But please note that it will still be exported users and groups. You need to remove the generated SQL file.

Personally, I'd go with the API. It should be fairly simple. Just call APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN. ADD_WORKSPACE when it is connected as SYS/SYSTEM or a user who has been granted the role APEX_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE.
