settings 'ini'

settings 'ini' how close the program that is currently running?

Hello

Setting.ini is a generic name that is used by thousands of programs to maintain the configuration.

Unless you explain in detail what you're talking about, there is no way even to guess a plausible answer.

    Hi VeronicaSanchez,

-Remember to make changes to your computer after that this problem started to happen?

We will put the computer in a clean boot state to identify the application at the root of this problem.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

My sidebar is not displayed in my administrator account. A pop-up Windows says 'settings.ini is being used by another process. Close other programs, and then click Retry. "However, no other program does run I know. I'm not able to access using Windows, the window is empty and shows that the site is under construction. Internet access seems to be hampered. This problem is not on my user account on the same computer, and I saw Windows Help on my user account. Also I tried to do a system restore and it was unsuccessful both times.

The profile of the user of this account may be damaged. You must create two new accounts administrator and use one to copy the data from your current account to the new account on the other.

Some of the registry keys that repairs this Fixit seemed to have been corrupted by a facility in need of elevation on behalf of administrator halfway through user account. Cannot access the internet

To open a new account, you must be an administrator.  Is your current account, an account administrator or you still have an active Admin account?  Go to start / Control Panel / user accounts / manage other user accounts to check what's there.  It that account you closed was the only administrator account, (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  Create two accounts administrator with good passwords (secure and that you will remember).

Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.  Once this is done, connect using one of the new administrator accounts and you will once more control of your system (but you should always use a standard account for your work on a daily basis for security reasons).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

P.S. You will still need to try some of the procedures described above to solve the problem of the internet and perhaps other issues.  It depends on what happens when you start using your new account and if that solves the problem.

  • IE Proxy/LAN settings

    Hello

A quick, I couldn't resolve literature or previous discussions.

I'm packing a .NET Application that uses the WebBrowser control that takes to turn its internet configurations from local IE settings.

I want to make sure that the packaged application uses the internal settings that I have configured.

Also, is there a way I can block certain ports to the use of the internal application. »

    Thank you

    -Dror

Regardless of the settings you provide inside the virtual environment will be used instead of the parameters the. This is true both for the registry keys and settings .ini (or other configuration files). If you want the package to use the settings on the local computer you must ensure that you do not go beyond providing conflicting parameters in the virtual environment and leave the package on the local computer (make sure you not entirely the party register of isolation or a folder).

ThinApp does not disable the TCP or UDP ports if that's what you are referring. If the application has a sort of GPO or similar settings to disable ports that will of course work if you ThinApp application.

  • How to get the file setup.exe to the next level?

    Greetings!

I am building an application for distribution of my project.

When I finished, I have the following file system to copy on a CD:

    -Folder of install main application

    -Application.exe (and alias and ini)

    -file data

    -File volume

    -bin folder

    -license file

    -folder supportfiles

    -nidist.id

    -setup.exe

    -setup.ini.

I would get the setup.exe file to be on top (in the installation folder main application), so that a user can immediately find this file to start the installation.

Is there a way to achieve this?

I tried to do shortcuts, but the path of the shortcut is absolute, so it does not work on the CD.

    Thanks for any help!

This configuration file is typical, if you create the Setup program in the same directory as the executable (which would by default).

But please note that the Volume file is the full installer. So if you want to distribute the application, please use the Volume folder (and its contents) only!

The bin folder contains the files * .cab - who are the installation for the MSI (Microsoft Installer) files. These files contain the files you want to distribute, if your application, application settings (ini and aliases), as well as the data folder.

So you see if you copy the Installer Application folder any hand, introduce redundancies have occurred in these files...

    hope this helps,

    Norbert
