  I'm having a very disappointing time with my new Blackberry 9700 I could really use help with it please.

  Following the installation wizard, I arrived to the e-mail configuration. The ONLY option is to enter an address associated with an Enterprise Server. There is no option to choose my Gmail account.

  After this step, I was hoping to find an alternative to get where I needed to be, but does not (at least none that I could find). Then I tried to upgrade my device software, which I did. So I am now under v5.0.0.405. Still no icon for the configuration of email in the settings window.

  I even tried to install Google Sync, but there is no hanging at "first login".

  I was really hoping it would be a lot easier than what I've heard great things about BB. I come from a Windows Mobile, so eager to get this resolved.

  To add to the above, you will need to override the methods "automatic" which will use the foregoing. Left alone, the "automatic" methods will offer only you OS packages sanctioned by the carrier for which your BB was built (under the VendorID on the device). But, you are not limited only to those... the easiest is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

  • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
  • You need to dig through this portal to find carriers that support your model but also to compare their different OS packages that are available.

  (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

  Do not forget to save.

  Note that if you had to make a special "tricks" for your BB to function initially get on your carrier (for example, your BB model no is not natively supported by your carrier system), then this process will wipe those out, and you have to make them once again after it's over. Before starting, so 100% certain that you know what these "things" have been and are able to do it again.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  HI, I just bought a 8120, but I have problems of access to the internet via the wap. The only browser available is the wireless access point. When I go into options to change the settings of the browser, there is no other available browser. How can I access the internet via the wap?

  As I am not certain that Orange will appoint the data plan, I don't know any old data plan will not do, even, it is a plan of "maximum download."

  It must be given to the BlackBerry device. Call your Orange customer service and ask if your data plan for BlackBerry. There is a difference.

  There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

  Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

  The toughest possible causes are an app behave badly. Fortunately, the error itself pointing you the problem... Twitter. I recommend that remove you / reinstall to see if that helps.

  The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

  I just got my Storm this week (my first Blackberry) and managed to configure my emails to my gmail account (the single e-mail account I set up at the moment). I noticed that when I set up my gmail account a new icon appeared on my Menu for my emails gmail next to the normal 'Messages' icon. Whenever I get an email from my gmail times the normal icon to 'Messages' account and gmail email message icon inform me that I have an email. What is the point to this?

  The only thing I can think is that the "Messages" icon shows you all the emails received by all registered email accounts. Is this the case? In this case, I'll just hide the gmail icon and use the standard Messages icon.

  Could someone let me know on this subject? Even if I just answered my own question! P

  Also when I was installing my sound notifications for text messages I saw 'Level 1' on the list of notifications that you can change the settings. What is a 'Level 1' notification?

  1. If your carrier have Irish, you must follow this:
  2. The site of the service provider wireless, download BlackBerry Device Software for the BlackBerry smartphone which includes the Irish language pack.
  3. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  4. Select the application loader tool.
  5. Open Add/Remove Programs. At this point the BlackBerry Desktop Manager confirms if the version of BlackBerry Device Software that is installed is specific to the service provider wireless BlackBerry smartphone was purchased from.
  6. In the device application selection screen, locate the Irish language and the support of the entry.
  7. Select the language you want to install.
  8. Click Next. The installation will begin.

  Once the BlackBerry Device Software is installed, the phone smart BlackBerry, complete the following:

  1. Go to the Options.
  2. Under input language, select the language that is installed.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Compose an e-mail message to test the input language.

  Come back from N.Wales, where I thought Id use BTs openzone

  the setting wifi - wot a joke! Might as well be in Outer Mongolia.

  Coverage of the OZone BTs worse than useless.

  I still have problems with the connection to the service WAP Fanny.

  IM on a card SIM payandgo and in spite of change my data APN (TCP/IP)

  I find Im still unable to connect to the internet using their wap service.

  Anyone got a job?

  I looked at your other posts, and the problem lies with your 02 sim.

  02 won't you use their WAP settings.

  I PM you with another way to get around this.  And that you'll be up and

  go to WAP in seconds flat.

  I bought a blackberry bold 9900 last year.  I want to update the software. When I go to options---> device I don't see an option like 'software update' which is there in other models. I want to know is - not just in my handsets or other "BOLD" 9900 s as well.

  I get what you're saying here. But what exactly my problem is that I don't have the option that checks for updates. In other models when you choose
  Menu--> options--> device there is a link/option that reads "software updates". I have that in my device. I think that it is incorporated and has nothing to with the carrier. Can you help me with this, please?
