Salvation according to RFC 952 and RFC 1123, which explain the rules for host names line of underscore (_) is not allowed in the host name.
Most likely, this causes the problem in your case.

gc_w01_enu_nb.exe extracted from 100%, but Setup fails instantly in winxp pro

I try to install the full feature driver for my PSC 1315xi on two WinXP Pro PC.

    One worked perfectly.

On the second, when I run the exe download, I get the message 'Extraction', but when he goes up to 100%, never open the setuup window.  And no error message is displayed.  I searched and found a log file which was produced.  It includes the following:

    GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "
System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU
    # The system language is ENU, but is not on our CD!
    # We couldn't understand a language to use and return FALSE from CICECmdLine::GetLanguage()!
    # GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "
    Installer returned 1603

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think I have solved this problem.

I have a PC Windows XP Pro (SP3) who has been affected by this problem.

Immediately after that the window of 'extraction' went to 100% and closed, nothing happened.  The windows install/never display software.

Whenever I tried it creates a log file that started with this:

    "Parsed command line: «.\Setup.exe".

    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf

    # GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "

System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU

    # The system language is ENU, but is not on our CD!

There was other error messages after that, but they all come from lines 3 and 5.

Something she prevented the installation program to recognize the language ENU files ARE present in this download.

Comparing two PCs, a problem, and one that works perfectly, I saw that one who was not was AutoRun disabled through a registry setting.  I temporarily deleted this registry on the PC that wasn't and Setup launched and ran like he was supposed to.  Here are the first of this log from the same PC, a few minutes later, where the only difference was that I had removed the registry setting criminalized:

    "Parsed command line: «.\Setup.exe".

    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf

System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU

We use the system of language = FRA, which is located on our CD!

As you can see, the message "(LanguagesInthisCD) failed" (line 3) disappeared, and the line 5 (now line 4) shows that it has to recognize that the language ENU installation files are present.

So if you encounter this problem, and you are comfortable with the system registry, here is how I got it to work on my PC:

    Start regedit
Navigate to the bottom of this tree
    -HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    -SOFTWARE
    -Microsoft
    -Windows NT
    -CurrentVersion
    -IniFileMapping
Below, find out if there is a key named "Autorun.inf".
On my PC (the one with this problem) the value of this key has been "@SYS: nexistepas".
If your registry database also has this, it may be the cause of your problem.
In the left pane of regedit, do a right click on Autorun.inf and select "Rename" from the context menu.
Change the name to something like "Autorun.inf.hold".
    Close regedit
At this point, I restarted my PC, but I don't know if it is really necessary.
I ran the downloaded driver file.  It extracted, and the Installer started out as it was supposed to.

When it was done, I returned in regedit and renamed "Autorun.inf.hold" to "Autorun.inf".

It is extremely frustrating for me, and (if you need it), I hope that this solution works for you.

You should see something like this:
    Service_Name: Spooler
    TYPE: 110 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS (interactive)
    STATE: 4 RUNNING
    (STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, IGNORES_SHUTDOWN
    WIN32_EXIT_CODE: 0 (0X0)
    SERVICE_EXIT_CODE: 0 (0X0)
    CHECKPOINT: 0X0
    WAIT_HINT: 0X0

What is the 'State' displayed for you?

Open the Services applet (start > run > services.msc > OK) and scroll down to "print spooler".  The status should be started and the Startup Type should be automatic.  What are the parameters of your correspondents?  If your print spooler is stopped, you can try to launch it by clicking on the link, but I suspect that it stops again.  Please report the results of your efforts.

  • Set Up Wizard does not recognize printer

Set Up Wizard does not my Photosmart 5160 when you use Mac OS 10.5.8, although the Mac recognizes and allows to print the documents. However I can't use create HP for printing on a DVD. If I boot with OS 10.4, it works perfectly, don't want the hassle.

You can have the software wrong under 10.5.  Download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

Install Windows 8 Pro upgrade, Windows 7, the two 64-bit, yesterday. Installation went well and everything seems to work. I had to reboot tonight and got the message "Installing Update 2 of 11, (etc.) do not disconnect or turn off your computer. Do not touch anything during the time that he finished all updates 11. Restarts and then delivers the message: 'Windows update Setup failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer"the whole process takes about 30 minutes before I was back at the lock screen and could connect.
Go to Windows Update in Control Panel and it indicates what it y 11 important available updates, which wouldn't be fair because they do not have. Then, I simply restarted... nothing more. Received the message "" Installing Update 2 of 11... "." as before, restarts and then get the message: 'Windows update Setup failed. Restoration of the changes. No idea where to look for that could be the cause of the problem? Anyone else had this experience?

After spending a lot of time debugging this problem, I was able to solve this problem:

The cause is my customized .bashrc file that somehow eliminates a lot of environmental variables, some of which are essential for the configureSecurityStore.py to run.

Now get rid of the file .bashrc custom, everything works as not expected, after no KeyError more.

  • Hp5520 all-in-one: Hp5520 need to reset password every time print set up wizard

3 weeks of holiday worked very well recognize now iPhone, iPad or Mac laptop. Says it is connected but can print only when I go to the wizard set up set password. HP 5520 all-in-one

    Hey @A-B,.

I understand that you must run the Wireless Setup Wizard and enter your wireless password to establish a connection when you try to print from your Apple to your HP Photosmart 5520 devices e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Because the printer shows 'connected' but fails to print if you run the Wireless Setup Wizard, the problem you are experiencing is most likely in the router itself. When you have a wireless printer is really no area gray: it either works or it doesn't. If the printer fails to connect wireless, the wireless card may be damaged. If the printer connects wireless (even if it is intermittent) the wireless card works. Because your connection seems to be intermittent the router can be see your printer as a threat and intermittently block printing and scanning wireless two-way communication. That being said, there are a few troubleshooting steps that we can attempt to create a more stable and reliable wireless between the printer and Apple devices.

    Powercycle router:

The next time the Wi - Fi connection problem occurs, do not run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer. Instead, you're going to have to powercycle your router. This step will also prove with certainty at 100% if your router is the origin of this conflict of connectivity. If your printer is working well after the powercycle, then the router is the cause of the connectivity problem.

    1. Start by unplugging the power cable to your router
    2. Once your router is unplugged, turn your printer off
    3. Then, shut down your computer
    4. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, plug your router back in
    5. Then, turn on your printer
    6. Turn on the computer

After a few moments, your internet connection will return. Please check on your Mac you are able to navigate to Web sites. Once the internet is to answer, test print. If printing works fine now continue to use your printer as the question can not return.

If the question comes up, ports and settings will be verified on your router.

    • Ports to open and settings to adjust the router:

If you don't know how to check the ports and parameters listed below, you may need to talk with the manufacturer of your router for assistance.

    Ports to open:

    • The incoming Ports (UDP): 80, 137, 138, 161, 427, 44
    • Coming out of Ports (TCP): 137, 139, 427, 5222, 5223, 9100, 9220, 9500

    Parameters to be set:

    • MAC filtering must be OFF
    • Firmware on router must be updated
    • Firewall on the router may need to be OFF for the test
    • The multicast must be turned on
    • Hello must be activated
    • If you use a dual band router, make sure you printer and devices are connected to the 2 ghz band. Printers are not supported on connections to 5 ghz

After made the settings of the router, please test wireless printing and scanning to confirm that the problem has been resolved.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. If you feel that the steps I have provided solved this problem please mark my post as a Solution for other users on the Forums of HP Support can easily find these steps. Good luck!

Found the problem and the solution.

I found that all msi packages would fail.  I tried to install another package as a .exe and received the error message: "the folder path ' program files (x 86)" contains an invalid character.

This brings me to wonder about the long file name support.  After research, I found the registry key 'Win31FileSystem' has been set to 1.  This system was originally setup to be able to save files on a computer embedded Windows 3.1 (don't ask). It turns out that having this disables running or is not compatible with the appointment of "Program Files" (x 86)  Definition of this registry key to 0 and reboot solves the problem of msi.

    Thank you

  • OEM 12.1.0.3 Setup fails with ora-01017

    Greetings,

I'm trying to upgrade my OEM 12.1.0.1 installation at 12.1.0.3. I'm following the instructions in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control Upgrade Guide and Support Oracle Note 1568143.1. I checked that all the prerequisites are met and have installed patch 11061801 in the repository. The repository and WHO are on different computers. The 12.1.0.1 installation is able to connect to the repository, it worked successfully for some time now. On the SGD server, quit the SGC and Agent and I invoke the 12.1.0.3 installation program. I followed the steps and when it gets to the login page, it fails with ORA-01017. Messages are displayed -

    1. check if the SYS password you have entered is valid.

    2. check if the REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE database initialization parameter is set to either shared or Exclusive.

    3. check whether a file with the file name orapw < SID > password exists in the < ORACLE_HOME > / dbs directory.

    All the conditions are met:

    Enter the password:

    SQL > connect sysman

I am able to connect remotely from another machine. sqlplus is not installed on the SGD server.

I am completely confused and need help. Web search indicates only that I need to make sure that the conditions listed above must be met, they are. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate the help.

    Thank you.
