Why are there multiple instances of internet explore in my task manager when I open only one page?

    Hello

IE uses smaller instances of itself to support tabs and correction of errors and it is normal for IE8. In fact
It uses far fewer resources as well as the opening of 2 or more instances to access several pages. If you
Open several tabs, and then still more small instances of Internet Explorer will be opened to support these tabs and error correction.

    So basically, everything is normal.

  • What is 'Quickactionbox' appliction? He is constantly provide in the list of applications that are running in the Task Manager on several occasions.

Here you can see the problem. What is this thing?

    Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem some application named QuickActionBox is running and showing in the Task Manager.

If you think that this application is not known to you and you think that's not important, then you can uninstall it in the list of programs. But before you uninstall this application, I recommend to create a system restore point and try to uninstall the application so that if this application is important, then you can come back to this point again.

To create restore point, you can see the article mentioned below.

A restore point is a representation of a stored state of your computer's system files. You can use a restore point to restore system files from your computer to an earlier point in time. Restore points are created automatically by the restore of the system each week and when System Restore detects the beginning of a change to your computer, for example when you install a program or a driver.

    Create a restore point

You can uninstall a program from your computer if you no longer use, or if you want to free up space on your hard drive. You can use the programs and features to uninstall programs or to change the configuration of the program by adding or removing certain options.

    Uninstall or change a program

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot start Explorer from the Task Manager shell, if another program is already specified as shell.

    Hey people.
The company that I work uses Windows XP to run some software owners. Our software is configured to run as nt\currentversion\winlogon\ HKLM\microsoft\windows shell shell. I tried setting the shell two our product and random software like messenger or just the C drive, and every time when you use "run" of the Task Manager to open the explorer.exe shell, my documents will be opened instead of other things.
It will open my documents instead of the shell until I have two close open windows, excluded the Task Manager and set the entrance to Shell back to "Explorer.exe".
This problem persists between the platforms, and I've tried everything I can think of.
    Any help will be great.

  • Why, when I have an IE open, I 2-3 instances of Internet Explorer in the taskbar?

Thought it was weird, I wonder if I have a Trojan or something...

    Hi neilanderthal,

-Are you referring to the entries in Internet Explorer in the Task Manager or the task bar?

If you are referring to the Task Manager, a process is for the program and one for the responsible tab.

This has to do with the added tab recovery feature that prevents the entire application to plant based on a single page allowing you to continue to use the other tabs. It is a normal behavior.

  • Explorer Windows has stopped working. Same for the Task Manager.

I have Windows Vista and have had this computer for several years.

I tried to work on something yesterday and I found that all my Office 2007 programs would be would break immediately at the opening, while they were working fine a week ago (the last time we used them).  I ran the diagnostic program came not upward with anything and then installed a bunch of windows updates I received automatically.  When the computer restarts now, I get a window in the corner that says 'Custom settings', then a window appears and says that Windows Explorer has stopped working.  I can ctrl/alt/del and open Manager tasks, but when I try to do no matter what to whom, it also stops working.  I not to download anything so I really don't think it is a virus.

I can't open programs or menus, even if I think I can get a screen of command.  I ran all the tests in the installation disc and did not get any where or the other.

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Mike

I can show you a workaround until Microsoft fixes their problem.

As soon as you enter the office hit

1-CTRL/ALT/DEL to get into the Task Manager
    2. click on the tab Applications (top left corner)
    3. click the new button on the task (lower right corner)
    4. in the Open box, type explore and click the Enter key
5 do step 3 and 4 once more as quickly as possible

This should stop the process of recycling the error message

After stops in the process recycling, you can leave the Task Manager and minimize the Explorer window.  Also, you should be able to leave the Task Manager and windows Explorer now.  If this is not the case, just keep the Explorer minimized window.

You should now be able to use your computer as usual.

Let me know how it works for you.  If it works well, spread the word.

  • Windows 8 does not not log on screen, all black dekstop, explorer.exe, disc missing from the Task Manager

Hey. I am a newbie in this forum. And I really like to make my PC more 'me' even though my parents and brother told me that my PC did not differ from how difficult. But, I still like my PC... ^ ^
But my PC encountered a problem in my birthday (March 8, ehehe just FYI). Its a terrible birthday gift: (...) Oh, there. Its all started when I accidentally install a skin pack or win 7 in my PC 8 victory. There is nothing wrong with installing proggress except a notification which inform on win 7 Starter has not installed correctly. :( Well, I ignored, first. But after I have it reboot, my dekstop went all black but it still can open the Task Manager. And then I try the system restore. It did not work properly. The only thing made worse. Somehow, my "(le seul compte dans mon PC) DELETED account." In fact, the log on screen consist only of the ease of access and power button with backgorund optomistic. Where are the data of the user, I mean a place where we inserted the password? XC its make me super bad mood. And after some restoration system with various restore points, I restarted my PC in safe mode successfully. Yippie, its worked perfectly in safe mode. I created a new account in safe mode. I thought that my problem more but no. and the bad news is that there is only one user account (a new one) in the journal on the screen! It'll be better I have the new account very well work, but it didn't! The dekstop always all black with no taskbar and it's the same problem as the first.
I am not really confusing. What should I do? Should I remove a skin pack safe mode? or reinstall win 8 in PC COUNTER? Or do something that you already know the guy?
Help me. I am so irritated by this problem. In any case, I want to ask one last thing, you prefer something after me or just think it was a charitable organization? Well, I just want to know. And I'll do my best to show my appreciation once you help me. I am so TROUBLED even if today is my birthday! I want a big anniversary with neither party. But its seems no big birthday. Please, help me. His will probably be my MOST BEAUTIFUL GIFT to a person who I know in internet. If you need something detailed about my problem, ask me. I need your response. :") SURE ME MY CRAZY MOM, IF SHE KNEW IF I AM WRONG IN MY PC AGAIN.

Oh, there. The explorer.exe does not start in normal mode, but it works fine in safe mode. Also, I discovered that the disc is missing from the Task Manager. :) Help?

Wish you a very happy birthday, Damaris.

Of course, I can understand the situation you're in right now, and it's a shame. I will be happy to answer your query and try my best to offer my help as a gift for your birthday.

    Let me ask you;

    1. What happened when you tried the system restore?
    2. What was the last time that the computer worked well?
    3. What security software is installed on the computer?
    4. Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?

The issue may be due to any dispute of third party software, virus or any system or missing files / corruption. Let's try the methods below and check the status.

Method 1: Since you are able to start the computer in safe mode without any mistake, I you suggest to start the computer in safe mode and then perform the clean boot to avoid software conflicts.

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode (as you are able to start the computer in safe mode with the steps you tried).

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Method 2: Run Microsoft Safety Scanner

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: Data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Method 3: Run the tool File Checker system in case where any system files are missing or corrupted.

System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

Enter in the right edge of the screen and then click on Search. Or, if you use a mouse, point to the corner bottom right of the screen, then click on Search. Type the command prompt in the Search box, right click invite, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

Note: Not close this command prompt window until the audit is 100% full. The results of the analysis will be posted when this process is completed.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Problems with the closure, by opening the Task Manager and Norton Internet Security. Help, please!

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). Until Monday, there is no problem whatsoever with my computer at all. I have not installed or uninstalled, whatever it be, changed settings, done anything differently with my computer. Suddenly it now "hangs" on the screen of closing down. I'll try to reboot or stop using the menu start, and it will stay on this screen indefinitely. Now, I have to manually turn off the computer. I spent on the Support page and studied the Performance issues, and all I get is I have Visual settings that interfere with closing... except my Visual settings have not changed in any way. In addition, I can not properly update my computer or do a system restore because the computer will shut down.

In addition, the Task Manager will appear no more. I'll press ctrl alt del and nothing appears, just the green icon in the corner of the screen. If I try to right click, no response.

I tried to do a full system scan in Norton Internet Security but she "leaves" scanning. It will scan correctly when I'm in safe mode, but it comes with no virus, trojan or other problem.

So in essence, I tried everything I can think of to fix my computer nothing works. It was working perfectly before this week. I have no idea where to go. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,

    G

    Hello

    Method 1.
First check to see if there are external devices attached to the computer, if so remove and check.

    Method 2.
    Step A.

Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts.

    Step B.
If it starts on the desktop in safe mode and then set your computer to the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.

See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3.
I recommend to run the restore of the system in safe mode and check if it works very well.
    Reference:
    System Restore: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions
Note: If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can not undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any.

    I hope this helps.
