Several builds in a repository?

Hello once again; (o)

v2.1 is really nice thanks!

A question about the update repository:

I did a basic build "BASEVM" which takes care of all the specific things in the operating system.

So, I want to have 2 or more builds based on this BASEVM.

My problem is I want to not have only one repository of update... Is this possible and how?

Example:

BUILDVM has been created - then I create two new virtual machines based on BUILDVM which are named APPVM01 and APPVM02.

Now, I see a problem that occurred in BUILDVM and I want to fix and publish this as an update to both APPVM01 and APPVM02.

It is not an option to make the changes in the two APPVMs separately because I have a lot more than 2 APPVMs based on BUILDVM later.

What happens if I choose for all virtual machines (BUILDVM, APPVM01 and APPVM02), the same update repository? This would solve the above

problem - maybe - but I'm not sure. And what would be with the UUID and the product ID?

HM, I hope someone has an idea or a solution: o)

Kind regards

Thomas

Here's how the update feature works on the machines built by Studio:

-Selective update at the application level or the packaging is not yet available. The will to update to at least the VM level, i.e. all pkgs (with their respective versions) available on the Repo to update, but not found in the virtual machine will be installed on the virtual machine.

-The case of the use you described would not work because for example when you click Update on APPVM01, not only it would install the app - D updates and app-E, all packages for other applications and all that are not yet in APPVM01 will be installed at APPVM01.

-The same set of VendorUUID and ProductRID should be used when pointing to a Repo update given otherwise the build process would not result. Currently these two values are used as an ID from the drop-down list for a unit to a data update repo. Different devices should have their own respective repo and ID's combo update

-The version number of device/VM plays a key role in the update feature. When you check the availability of the update for each virtual computer, the last device/VM version number on the Repo update must be higher than the version of this VM data for the process of updating kick.

Hope the above helps.

    Hello.

I use JDE development and am looking to set up multiple versions of the same project. The thin main that I need is a MACROS like feature that allows some code to compile in a case and any other code in another (essentially creating production vs demo). What would be the best way to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I am currently working on Oracle 9.2 Builder items home and we want to create several users of the repository. Can you get it a whole please let me know how. OWB 10 g R2 and 11g R1, we can use the wizard to create mutiple users but I'm not really familiar with OWB 9.2.

    Kind regards
    Mohammad

    Hi Mohammad,.
There are different steps to save the repository user (in the repository OWB9.2 of design)
and the target schema (in the runtime OWB9.2 repository).

To design repository user registration, you must use the WBSECURITYHELPER PL/SQL package,
For more details look at [the repository users maintain | http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B10996_01/19extend.htm#1087593] in the OWB User Guide.

To save the additional target schema, you must use OWB DURATION repository Assistant.
For more details look at [install a schema target Warehouse Builder | http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B11000_02/02owbins.htm#1049896] OWB Installation Guide

  • Plug-in for Eclipse: how to compile a source in several binary files?

    Hello gurus of BB,.

recently, I spent my development environment of JDE for the plug-in for Eclipse (mainly because the new Blackberry7 is only available for Eclipse). I was able to transfer my apps; one thing remains to be done.

Knowledge, I would like to compile the same source in two applications: a Lite and a full. Source code, as I said, is completely identical for both; the only difference is in the metadata (icon, name of the application, etc.) and in the fact that once the compilation of the version Lite, I #define a variable (in the source code, there is a certain //#ifdefs).

How could I do in Eclipse? In JDE, I simply create a workspace and two projects (.jdp files) inside they can share sources. But in Eclipse, the Application descriptor does not seem to support that?

Eclipse is very deficient in this way.

That's why I use Netbeans + BB Ant tools to do all my Blackberry development.

It provides very easy access to the configurations, a great support for ANT and support of editor/preprocessor much better compared to Eclipse.

I losers to Eclipse debugging Department, so I created an ANT script to copy the files required in JDE and use it for debugging/profiling.   It is possible to get Netbeans to work with the debugger, but requires a lot of work and is obviosly a config not supported.

A click or script executed and I have 12 + packages of different distribution ready to be distributed OTA/Desktop/BES all carefully packed in their respective folders.

Configurations + several builds support has been expressed in BB repeatadly plug so far into the team, but no change.   I know that I'm not a point to track down the leads/developers of plugins at each conference of BB and put up a point on the configs... maybe next year that's going to stick

    p. s.

You can get the 7.0 files outside Eclipse... you really have nothing other than the Javadocs and the net_rim_... jar, perhaps Cap updated as well.   All of you who are located in the folder of the eclipse plugin.  Just copy JDE6.0 and replace only the files required with the version 7.0 and you are ready to go.

  • Confused about BI Publisher and BI Presentation Services

    Hello

I have read this document: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e12188/toc.htm

I have already created a user, role, and data sources, to integration with the presentation Services. Now, what is the relationship between the BI Publisher with services presentation BI? So far, I could only connect to the presentation of the Services as administrator. I tried to use "user" I created on BI Publisher to log on as a normal user presentation Services, but it is said that it is not valid. How can I set up a normal user for presentation Services create the report? (if that's the goal of it). What is the diff of the user on presentation of BI and BI Publisher Services? I'm still confused and so far I can not create a report on the responses =) would a person also refer to a document on a setup step by step if I could create a report?

    Thank you!

If you use BI_SERVER security, your BEEPER users will be authenticated against the installation of server of BI (RPD), which in itself is a table of data types, LDAP, authentication 4 IE select in the table where

If you go in Server BI, take care to ensure that your users are in the appropriate groups of the XMLP_XXXX. -See documentation for exact priv given to each group.

If you use the security of the OPE, you users BEEP etc..

    Offline / online:

Is offline when usually build you the repository 1st time when ready (overall consistency checks that is spent in the administration tool), you will put the RPD in the folder /Server/repository. Point the NQSConfig.INI to the RPD file and start the BI Server service. OBIEE takes RPD file, load into memory ready for use with BI presentation services. When you connect 'Online', you connect to the RPD in memory (and 'Live' in the service) when you make changes, they are immediately in effect (changes to presentation catalogs usually require a pressure on the "Reload server metadata" responses)
    * When BI services are on the rise, the RPD specified in NQSConfig is locked for editing, if you try and open with the administration tool you will get only the playback mode.

    What repository?
It's simple: when you connect online, you specify an ODBC connection that you have need to configure in data sources - ODBC type "Oracle BI Server", here you give the IP address / hostname of the BI server and what RPD you want to use, just specify the RPD in the ODBC connection IF you have several RPDS specified in the NQSConfig.INI , otherwise the 'failure' RPD will be selected.

Does that help? -Maybe that start a new thread for questions, this mark as being closed to help other users of the research.
    See you soon

  • Recommended architecture for a production installation of OBIEE 11 g

    Hi all

    OBIEE...: 11.1.1.7

    ... OS: Oracle Linux 6.3

I am immersed in this new world of OBIEE and I have a few questions of small (and possibly dumb). I want to install OBIEE 11 g in a virtual machine for testing only, but I would like the most experienced here on the OBIEE what is the architecture recommended for a production environment? I mean, I have a dedicated server only for the OBIEE software? The repository database must be on a different server? And Weblogic... it should be in a dedicated server (is that even possible)?

    Thanks in advance.

Standard production deployment is OBIEE + WLS on servers of one (or several), with the database repository and the database of data from reports on separate computers. For a sandbox environment they can all sit on the same. SampleApp is an excellent place to start with OBIEE.

Is there such a connection? instead of sys/passwrd, the password is being substituted by the tnsname parameter?

No, no, no, no. tnsnames is used to resolve an alias to connect to a host, port and service. He has nothing, zero, zilch, nada, null, niet to do with authentication information.

  • Question about the functionality of vector mask

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to Photoshop CS 5 so I apologize if I'm asking the wrong type of questions, here goes:

When you work with vector masks you can:

    (1) "the link" or a vector mask with the other images? ' sharing ' a picture (for example) if I did 'A Building' then duplicated, but wanted to change what build a looked like, I have to only change the mask of the source, then the copies would be updated.

    (2) move the independent image of the vector mask (it seems that I can only move the vector mask, not the image itself). Or in other words: I can move the image and have the mask to follow, instead of being only able to move the vector mask within the limits of the image?

    My application of the question:

I do a top-down 2D layout of a zone of type "Paste". I did to fill the buildings, building A, B, C, etc. and use multiple copies of each building. Ideally, I would like to be able to 'link' or share say building has a vector mask with all other instances of building A (so that when I change the master, they all change to the new form of mask). The second behavior I have trying to find is the ability to move without moving layer where the vector mask is on this layer (since it seems that you can only move where the mask is, which means that even if I could share masks, they all finish by in the same sense of place I have to re - position each hand again.)

Any ideas are appreciated, thank you for reading.

When you work with vector masks you can:

Yes, it's possible, but not with the classic system layer vector mask in Photoshop. Layer masks are part of a layer and not the layers themselves, so that they can be converted into a reusable object.

The solution is to avoid vector layer masks and use a clipping/layer instead mask. A clipping/layer mask CAN be converted into a smart object that is reusable, and when you change one, all the other instances are also changing.

The second part of the solution is to convert the layers contained both the clipping/layer to a smart object mask. Then the batch group. By the way, if your buildings are made up of several elements simply to include these additional elements in the clipping group. Another advantage is that each of the elements may still have its own normal layer mask. Win win situation. And layer effects can be applied to layers/clipping masks, once again what is impossible for layer masks. It also opens the doors to a much less destructive workflow.

    (2) move the independent image of the vector mask (it seems that I can only move the vector mask, not the image itself). Or in other words: I can move the image and have the mask to follow, instead of being only able to move the vector mask within the limits of the image?

This is also solved with the use of layers/clipping masks - the content and the mask can be moved independently in regular layers. Another advantage is that the two can also be transformed individually.

Any ideas are appreciated, thank you for reading.

So here's my solution. I made a sample with two buildings, the view from above which could be reused as desired:

    (1) first of all create groups for each building and place the content to those. Then trace layer vector shapes on the content. Set the transparency for layers of mask to a reasonable of opacity for masking easier.

    (2) put the vector shape under the layer of content for each building. Then, for (1) and (2), , click on the border between the content and the shape layer. (

    (3) then we will turn this building into recyclable items. Convert each content and layer to a smart object clipping mask. Then rename these layers of dynamic object into something sensible (honestly, I forgot to label the layers well earlier, but you catch my meaning here ;-)

Fact! To clone each building, duplicate layer groups. For each instance that you can move the content (which is handy if you share multiple charts of building in the same bitmap or illustrator file), or you can decide to move the mask in place. Or both. It is the same for the transformation. Your choice. To move or transform a building, select the layer group.

To change or modify the masks or the contents, double-click the smart object of your choice and make a few changes.

Also, remember that you can insert additional elements in a clipping group by placing it over the first layer and then clipped by clicking again on the border between them. So, in theory, you could start building different looking buildings by adding other dynamic objects in clipping groups. The sky is the limit! In this way, you can create several building blocks to build various buildings with different looks. And still limit the number of blocks - and any update-able.

Unfortunately, that's when the workflow breaks down a bit: due to the implementation of the object dynamic in Photoshop, you can't change the mask or the contents of the building in context - instead, it opens in its own window of file. This can be somewhat mitigated by placing the two windows side by side (window-> fix--> double vertical installation).

This brings us to the second caveat: when you make a change, the changes are not updated in real time in the master document. You must first save it. Still a bit of a flow of work, but when same breaker... At least you now have a workflow not destructive instantiated.

The content of the dynamic object can be replaced easily with a right-click of the mouse on the smart object layer itself. Or use a dynamic object referenced externally instead if you prefer to generate your buildings in an external application.

BTW, the layer of Photoline system is much more logical and easier to use for this type of work. Layer masks behave like regular diapers. Layers, groups, masks, layers of external file and so forth can be practically cloned and instantiated as smart objects, but the main object is editable in the context, and all the other instances updated in real time. So, it is more convenient. At least this is my experience.

I hope this has been helpful! Now go build your cities. :-)

PS: I thought: isn't Illustrator or InDesign is a much more logical choice for this type of work where you need access to reusable blocks of content? It would also be a more efficient workflow and faster - Photoshop is not really designed for this type of work. Illustrator and InDesign provide potentially out of better quality. You can also divide your work into the pages and so on. Here again, you would probably lose the flexibility of smart objects.
