Several conditional Actions required to Slide "on entry.

I have a Captivate 7 file with a main Menu that contains 5 buttons that take users through 5 submenus. There are buttons that launch other project files on each submenu.

On the submenus when a user performs a project file, the file closes and a variable puts a check mark on the top of the key to display this project is completed. Once a user makes all projects on a submenu, the button in the main Menu which directs user to the submenu then will have a tick on the top of the key to show the submenu is complete.

This works well with many variables; standard actions on the buttons and a conditional action advanced on the "on entrance" for the slide.

Question I have is that on each slide to make a Visual indicator that indicates the total percentage of full user (6 built images showing 0,20,40,60,80 & amp; 100). I created a conditional action that shows a relevant picture but my question is how to integrate only next to entry. Have you thought to use on output to show the image correctly on each slide, so that when the user visits a slide good picture - unfortunately it does not work.  Someone at - it ideas? Is it possible to drag on entry perform two separate conditional actions?

Any great fully received help!

You can put decisions as much as you want in a conditional to the progress of the actions. How much time do you have for now? All the statements in any fast action are always evaluated, which is not always the case in conditions in a programming language. Sequence is of course very important, both in the statements and decisions.

  • I can't do a conditional action with several decisions work

    I use 6 Captivate:

    Here is an example:

    The slide contains 2 objects - one is a button and the other is a graphic, seller.

    Entering the slide, a variable, v_button, is set to 0, and seller is hidden.

    I enclose a conditional action for the button to allow the user to click several times to show or hide the image.

    This conditional action works:

    IF:

    v_button is equal to 0

    ACTIONS:

    Show vendor

    Assign the v_button with 1

    ANOTHER THING:

    Hide the seller

    Assign the v_button with 0

    This conditional action does not work:

    Decision 1:

    IF:

    v_button is equal to 0

    ACTIONS:

    Assign the v_button with 1

    Decision 2:

    IF:

    v_button is equal to 1

    ACTIONS:

    Hide the seller

    What I am doing wrong?  I need to use many decisions because my real case requires 3 decisions.

    Thank you very much for your advice.  Never, I realized that I could layer smart buttons.  With your help, I solved the problem:

    I created 4 smart buttons, with the 2 green smart buttons on top 2 Brown buttons and attached a standard action to each of them:

    Show

    Audio triggered stop

    Play the Audio

    Button1Off: (attached to the green button 1)

  • Use the standard action and action scripts conditional on the same blade upon entry

    I want two different types of action to run on blade scripts enter the same blade, one second apart.

    1 script: fill a variable with the current date.  It is a standard action going right.

    2nd script (run 1 sec after the first script): If the above variable is greater than the current date, follow these steps.  It is a conditional action.

    How can I get Captivate perform these two actions in the same blade?  I can do if 1 script is located on the previous slide and the script 2nd on the second slide.  However this does not look good.  I want these two scripts to run on enter the same blade.  I use CP8.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Sharon

    You can use the two decisions, the first decision designating a standard simulated action by using a condition that always leads to True:

    First decision "always."

    IF 1 is equal to 1

    Assign the v_one with...                         the commands of your standard action

    Second decision «...» »

    IF v_one is equal to cpInfoCurrentDateString your conditional action

    However, in CP8 it is NOT possible to delay of 1 orders dry, this is only possible in CP9. Why you want to defer checking?

  • Variable/conditional Actions and a table of contents slide

    The Adobe eLearning Summit, I sat in class Advanced Action Joe and Lily, and I saw how we could add a checkmark (or indicator) to a table of contents slide.  I should take better notes, because I'm working on it and not get anywhere.  My logic may be simple.  So here's what I did.

    (1) I have created a user for Chapter 1 (v_chap1) variable and set it to 0.

    (2) on the 3 blades that make up chapter 1, I have an exit Action on where v_chap1 is incremented by 1.

    (3) on the Table of content slide, I have a hidden check box (named: check mark).

    (4) the box is controlled by a conditional action where if v_chap1 = 3, then show the check mark.

    Of course, it did not work.  I place the variable in a text on the blade of my OCD caption, to see if he could increase and it is not, it remains at 0.  So basically I'm stuck at step 2.

    Any help would be appreciated.  I'm on: v6.0.1.204

    It's crazy to get me to explain as well advanced and shared actions within an hour. Have a 6 hour workshop ready where this kind of use case is one of the subjects, but never have the opportunity to do so. Too bad...

    Begin to wonder if online training would attract enough participants? Suppose not.

    Preparation of a book of recipes for advanced actions, and this will certainly be one of these use cases. Problem is not the content but the format of the book and distribution, this is where I'm totally stuck.

    I have this model TOC ready for 6 and 7, but I offer it for free any more as I did for CP5 and 5.5.

    Take a look on: http://blog.lilybiri.com/template-for-reusing-script

    And my blog has a lot of use cases.

  • Setting a conditional Action for pre-test questions: skip content slides

    OK boys and girls, let's see if this is even possible in a course of SCO, or if this solution multi-SCO (which means I'm toast, because we do not have the multi-SCO aggregator)?

    I want to implement a prescriptive pre-test. In my ideal world, the answers to each individual question would either enable or disable the content related to the question slides. If the user passes the pre-test, they might opt to skip the prescriptive stuff and complete the course. If the user fails the pre-test, they should consult the active content.

    Is it still possible in a unique world of SCO?

    Justenuf

    Will try to explain how I would try to handle this use case, but I didn't try it!

    • For the first condition, you already have a system variable which can be used in conditional actions to check if the user has passed the pre-test. If you use ordinary question slides, cpQuizInfoPassFail will be set to 1 if it is adopted, the value 0 as var is full only after the last slide in the question. If you use slides before the test, you will need to create a variable user, which you can fill with a tip action, based on the value of cpQuizIntoPretestPointsscored or cpQuizInfoPretestScorePercentage.
    • To follow the questions they did correctly, you must create a variable user for each slide of the issue, default = 0. Based on the system variable cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointScored, which is completed after each slide of the question, you can switch the variable user of the slide of the previous to 1 question if this sys var is greater than 0. This can be done by an action at the entrance to each slide of the question. You will need such action on enter also immediately after the last question slide (maybe on a blade of results, where you can also put the appropriate button to switch the content slides, or offer the possibility to go back).
    • For each slide content you will need another (conditionala tip enter action. Condtion will check the value of cpQuizInfoPassFail (or the equivalent for the slides before the test) AND the value of the var related to this question slide. If both are positive, ignore the slide (go to the next slide), if not, just stay on the slide. That action will be the same for all the slides in content related to a question. But another question, you will need a duplicate, because another user variable will be there. If you use CP7, this is an excellent example for joint actions.

    Hope this helps a bit, sorry that I am so busy.

  • Conditional action does not not at the exit slide

    Captivate 5.0 - q: non-critical

    I just got a conditional action which did not work if I he attributed to on drag the output, but it does not work if I assign it to a button.

    The tip action was a conditional action:

    If: variable = yes

    Then:

    new variable set

    go to slide 50

    On the other

    Go to the next slide

    It was weird.  It only works if I assigned to a button.

    This happened to someone else?

    Micky

    Hello

    When we talk about advanced actions let you always only to use the "On Exit" event when you know that the reading head will reach the last image of a slide, which is certainly not always the case. Please check if you don't have a button or other interactive object on this slide that will prevent default action of navigation on ways to an object that navigation will be the scope of the suspension point of this object, and that the playhead has never reached the last image. The fact that you mention this tip action is functional from a button, confirms in a way my suspicion.

  • Conditional action to display the button next main Menu after received the visit 4 slides

    Is there a tip Action to display a next button on a slide after that 4 different slides have been opened?

    Hello

    Why are you putting this issue separately, I thought it was related with the other thread? If you ask this question, it will be more difficult to answer and resolve only in combination with other advanced action who showed the images. Because the next button must be made visible on this same blade where you show the pictures, or is that not the case?

    You must create a user variable, I'll label it v_counter. Whenever you show a picture, you must increment this variable (second statement after image) like this:

    Expression v_counter = v_counter + &

    And then you add a fifth of the decision to your advanced conditional action, which checks the value of v_counter and show the button hidden in the following departure if the meter is at least 4:

    If v_counter is greater than or equal to 4

    Then display the button

    Otherwise, continue

    But if you want a literal answer to this question, it will be something different and more complicated. Because then I need to know if visited slides will be viewed entirely until the last image? If yes you can trigger a fast action by the event leaving. BTW, still do not know how you will trigger the action of tip of the other thread, by what event?

  • [Captivate 6] Indicator completion using conditional actions

    Hello

    I'm looking to implement an indicator of achievement in the form of an image is displayed next to the link to a specific section to show that it is has been visited, to achieve this, I did the following

    1. [Page 1] 3 (smart form configured to use like button) buttons, 3 images (located in invisible on output) Image1, Image 2 and 3
    2. Link 1 [page 2] back button on slide 1
    3. [Page 3] 1 button link to slide 1
    4. [Page 4] 1 button link to slide 1

    Variables:

    • Sec1Done, value 0
    • Sec2Done, value 0
    • Sec3Done, value 0

    Conditional actions:

    • IF [Sec1Done] is equal to 1 THEN show Image1
    • IF [Sec2Done] is equal to 1 THEN show Image2
    • IF [Sec3Done] is equal to 1 THEN show Image3

    Action (as input):

    • [Slide] Assign the Sec1Done with 1
    • [Slide] Assign the Sec2Done with 1
    • [Slide] Assign the Sec3Done with 1

    Now, when I click on the link in section 1 (slide 1) then click the button back (slide 2) the Image1 does not appear, then is the same for slides 3 and 4.

    A little difficult, have several posts on similar configurations, but do not understand your explanation. You don't specify what events trigger actions at all. Why not use the Back buttons to change the value of variables? And the event that triggers the conditional action? I suspect that this is the event to enter the slide Menu?

    I suspect that you want something like that, watch the movie:

  • Perform multiple Actions on a slide

    Hello

    I'm at the end of the development of a project in Captivate 5.5. It is a heavy project advanced Actions. I found a situation where I have to add a tip action to each page (at least I think I do).

    Our LMS (Saba) performs a bookmarking feature, but it has no variables. So when a user leaves and enters the course, the checkmarks to completion that I put in place with the Action Variable is more 'show' because the variable is now = 0 not 1.

    So, my thougt is to run a tip to enter each page action. It's no big deal to expect...

    I have more than 30 slides that have stock advanced existing press. Is it possible to tell captivate to perform advanced action A and B? Or do I have to add all conditional Actions of B to A. I hope that not because there are four conditions in B that I will have to add each of the some 30 other advanced Actions.

    Thanks for your help,

    Susan

    No way to call another tip action, among the many feature requests, I want once appear.

    In addition, you can only add new decisions in a conditional action at the end, another request I connected several times in order to insert a decision and reorganize decisions. Is what you need to add a standard action simulated or is it a true condition. Because there is the another tedious workflow that you cannot copy a total of decision (condition + THEN + ELSE) so... Another one of my long list with pray... sigh

    If explain you exactly what needs to happen, maybe I could have some advice to limit work?

  • Please help with conditional actions showing the PlayBar

    I tried to set up a tip action that will not allow users to move forward until they have clicked on the 3 themes I want to see again them.  I assigned variables, follow the tutorials and do everything now.  Please help how I my Advanced actions set upwards... everything shows and hides all work so I have to assume that the assignment of variable works as well.  I used numbers initially and changed my value of the variable of "dude" just to make sure I was not missing something.

    Capture.PNGCapture2.PNGcapture3.PNG

    Here's the aciton condtional which is performed after the entry of the slide

    Capture4.PNG

    All logic seems in tact for me however I click on each of my boxes and all conditions must be true, but will not display game bar...

    Note: I also tried to show a next button and just show the things randomly with the same logic and it just will not work... What am I doing wrong?

    Something escapes me in your question: How do trigger you the conditional action? I suspect that he is never executed, but may be wrong of course.

    I created a small example to check: slide contains 3 buttons that trigger an action condtional with two decisions. The first decision is a simulated standard measure (condition 1 = 1 is always correct) assigns the value 1 to the variable corresponding user and displays a caption text, that was initially hidden. This is a screenshot of this first decision Stand for the first Bt_One action to be triggered by the first button:

    The second decision Check is the action of condtional real, very similar to yours. This will be done after the first decision:

    Create a duplicate of this action for the other two buttons, you only have to edit the first decision where the user variable needs to be changed.

    In my example, when you click the last button (regardless of the sequence) all the text captions should have been disclosed (I na not hide others, but you can do the same of course) and the second decision check will result in a positive response, so the playback bar appears immediately.

    If <= 5="" y="">= 10 and 20<30 result="">
    If <= 5="" y="">= 10 and County > = result 30 C

    Thank you for your attention.

    Assuming that 'A', 'B' and 'C' are digital issued by a calculation, you can use a node of the formula.

    Here is a small example based on your rating (a bit confusing).  It can be slightly changed, but it might be a starting point (assuming I understood you, and you're only dealing with the numeric data types simple as described in your example).

    The case could just to do this using regular functions of comparison of LabVIEW and data flow.

    I asked this question yesterday on the forum, and the answers I got were not useful.  This forum has decided to mark my question as answered and he did NOT.

    Re: No Camera Raw filter in CS6

    I still have the problem.  According to Adobe, I should be able to make the plugin work for CS6, in accordance with this link... Installer Camera Raw Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6

    I did everything it said to do, (several times)... and it still does not work.  Please help me.  And PLEASE don't mark my question 'answered' until it is actually responded.

    Different question.

    The Action requires that Camera Raw as a filter (in the menu Filter) which is only available with the versions of Photoshop Cloud (CC).

    As explained in your other thread, Camera Raw is available as a plug-in for CS6 only so that you can open Raw files and edit. Camera Raw takes place automatically as soon as you try one open a Raw file.

    In CC, Camera Raw is also available as a filter (in the menu filter in Photoshop) - who depend on this Action. It won't work in CS6 because Camera Raw is not available as a filter in CS6.

    In other words, the Action is not compatible with the CS6. It only works with CC.

  • If several conditions

    Hi Expert...

    Im trying to make if several conditions in acrobat javascript, so my problem is simple I want to draw the attention of the user and then change the value of the field if the user enters a wrong number... so my approach was what follows... but it gives me errors (in custom for the field validation scripts)

    Switch (event.value) {}
    case '0 ':

    this.getField("PeriodVar").value = 20;

    App.Alert ("zero not accepted");

    break;
    case ' ':

    this.getField("PeriodVar").value = 20;

    App.Alert ("empty not accepted");

    break;
    20 > case study:

    this.getField("PeriodVar").value = 20;

    App.Alert ("more than 20 not accepted");

    break;
    }

    I tried to do several condition with other, if but also I have faild, I only success in the following code in the function:
    function checkmaxperval()
    {
            var maxsum = getField("PeriodVar");
            var usingsum = maxsum.value;
               if (usingsum > 20 ) {
                    app.alert("maximum value is 20 only", 3);
                    maxsum.value = 20;
                   return;
    }

    Looks like you were trying to have a 'case > 20' - it is not valid JavaScript. Each case must be a distinct value.

    You are better to do an if/else if/else statement:

    if (event.value == 0) {
      // do someting
    }
    else if (event.value == "") {
    // do something else
    }
    else if (event.value > 20) {
    // do something else
    }
    else {
    // this catches anything that was not yet handled
    }

    That said, I would advice against searching for an empty string: the problem with this is that you cannot easily remove a value, and then replace it with valid data, or leave it blank and move on to come back later. I suggest you handle these cases later, for example when the form is submitted: have a function that checks the 'required' fields that are empty. See for example here for the code that would do this: loop through the required fields before submitting the form (JavaScript)

    Your second code snippet is missing a '} '.
