Several DMZ on WRT54GL?

Can I have multiple DMZ to open all the ports for my servers?

My LAN configuration:

Modem high speed > router > TWO workgroup switches > all computers

I am using port range redirection (gives you only 10 places), and I am now using 7 of them. Xbox 360 only takes 3 spaces to open its ports required.

I have a lot of servers and currently all the ports are open, but if I develop once again, I'm going to be hammered with no place to open the ports.

My servers are configured manually the IP addresses: xxx.xxx.x.146 - 148.

If there is an option to open a range of DMZ or forward all ports to a beach, that would be wonderful. Don't know if its possible, but if there is no DMZ options, could use the range of ports open and automatic reference all ports using that? as in the port from beginning to end strike on TCP and UDP port? EX: Port 20-80000, activate the TWO IP 146< not="" sure="" what="" the="" lowest="" port="" and="" highest="" ports="" are="">

If its not clear enough, let me know and I'll try to clarify the best I can.

Thanks in advance,

Try third-party firmware on your router, as the tomato. It runs on your router, and I think you'll find some useful improvements on the stock linksys firmware. The limits on port forwarding have been considerably increased, and there are other options such as real-time and historic bandwidth control included...

To allow hosts on the way to reach the inside I create an access list applied to a central interface. However, will be an implicit (or explicit) deny at the end of the access list prevents the intermediate hosts with default value to open access to the lower security outside the interface?

    Thank you

    Mick

Level of security and access lists:

To grant access of lower to higher level, you need to an access list and a static.

Equal to equal level cannot talk to each other.

Higher level of security can talk to lower levels, if there is no access on this interface list and the NAT is configured correctly.

ACL will add at the end a "deny ip any any" after a statement of license. So getting back to your question: If you allow a DMZ host to connect internal host on a specific port that all other connections are blocked. You must specify all the tarffic in this access list otherwise they will be blocked.

The only exception is the traffic may be from other interface access lists to the demilitarized zone, answers etc. For example, you are allowing port 80 to a dmz host outside this traffic will not be verified again by the dmz access list.

  • HTTP server shipped in weblogic vs. OHS

    Hello

I installed EMP. With her, weblogic is installed. I forgot to install ESS so weblogic uses its own HTTP server.

I have a few questions related to the embedded server vs OHS.

1 - HTTP Server integrated will work as well on OSH?

    2. is there a difference in speed between 2 servers?

    3. I'm having a lot of unusual problems, would it be because of embedded HTTP Server?

    Concerning

    Hi there are JanGLi,

your question is rather architectural and technical.

The use of OSH should be dictated by the topology of your environment.

1 - HTTP Server integrated will work as well on OSH?

Sure. WLS is designed and can operate as a stand-alone, i.e. without

    OSH at the front.

    2. is there a difference in speed between 2 servers?

Although I did NOT stress tests compare OHS vs WLS in the portion

Happy, I expect the OHS to serve static content, i.e. the images,.

    JS, css, etc.

I would say that OHS is required when you run the web-based

applications distributed among several DMZ where OSH should be in your

Internet zone and WLS in the application server box. You can also

WLS of SSL of unloading, for example, you can configure ESS to manage SSL

communication and let the WLS to do its job - execution of components JEE.

    3. I'm having a lot of unusual problems, could it be due to integrated

    HTTP Server?

In your case, I doubt that the problems you are having with EPM are

due to lack of OSH at the front. If you are more specific in the questions

you are facing I (or someone else in the community) might be able to

    help you.

    Hope this helps,

    A.

  • Several statement list Access NAT (DMZ) 0

    Hello

IM I have problems with remote VPN. The scenario is as follows:

I have I have few clients who will connect remotely via VPN. Until today, one of them needed to enter my DMZ. But now I want a different profile (the cause is a new client) to access one of my server in the DMZ.

But if I declare the nat 0 access-list newclient (dmz), it works, BUT it removes the previous 0 having my other client nat. Is there a way to create several access list statement 0 - nat (dmz)?. André,

You can have as a NAT exempt list of access by interface (nat rule 0).  I understand what you are trying to accomplish.  You use the vpnashi and vpnlati access list to control access to devices for different customers through VPN group policies.

What I do is the following:

Create an ACL for the VPN client (that you have, with vpnashi and vpnlati)
Create an ACL for NAT exemption for the interface (inside sheep, sheep-dmz, etc.).

Create the ACEs within the exempt ACL of NAT that corresponds to your VPN client access-list.

It is allowed to have multiple statements within a NAT exempt list to access.  This will not have a client VPN access to things, it shouldn't.

    For example:

    access-list sheep-dmz allowed extended host ip 192.168.16.28 192.168.125.0 255.255.255.0

192.168.125.0 IP Access-list extended dmz sheep 255.255.255.0 allow host 192.168.16.28

    NAT 0 access-list sheep-dmz (dmz)

  • Several s DMZ on a hunt through VLANs?

Have a PIX 520 6.0 (1) market with failover and 5 DMZ (in, out and three others) and all our DMZ is fast hub Cisco 412. I have recently been responsible for leading the PIX and learn on the fly. I removed many static s, ducts and other configuration lines that were not needed and is top grade of 6.2 (2). Until I update there is still some config problems, I need to work. A question I have is on the fast hubs used to the s of the DMZ. We currently receive millions of collisions and other errors of the interface, and I guess that goes fast hubs switches would help considerably the performance or the DMZ s? It was suggested to me to use a single switch for all DMZ s and configure the VLANS on the switch to keep traffic separated. What is a good and safe approach? What is a demilitarized zone has been compromised the switch VLAN is compromised? I think having separate switches separate DMZ would be the safest? What switches that you would recommend or you recommend to stick with the fast hubs? Also it would be nice to shoot Unitization and other static s off these DMZ passes any safe way to do this? Just to give you an idea of the traffic going through our PIX at rush hour, we have a total of 7 MB to traffic for most of the VPN. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello.

    > We are currently receiving millions of collisions...

These may be related to mismatched speed and duplex settings between the pix and the hub. Automatic detection doesn't always work as expected.

If so, try to manually set the pix at the proper speed and duplex mode interface.

Replace managed switch hubs can also help in this regard, in addition to the other benefits of a switch.

    > I think having separate switches separate DMZ would be the safest?

I would also use separate switches, for simplicity.

I think that VLAN will add another unnecessary point of failure and complexity.

    > Also, it would be nice to pull Unitization and other static out of the DMZ.

You can enable SNMP to the pix and use MRTG to get some info from traffic on the interfaces - but this gives you only the total traffic per interface and no details on traffic.

A syslog Analyzer program that works with the pix can give much more detail, the extra traffic (syslog traffic itself) costs, overhead at the pix and the hardware and software costs additional.

  • Why would I need to DMZ router to scan?

If you feel you have tried everything to get the scanner to communicate with the computer and nothing will do, a service representative can tell you to DMZ the printer.  Often I have heard the term used loosely, and it can be very confusing if taken the wrong way.  That's why I deliberately formulated my question as I did.  First of all, you don't want the router DMZ.  You want to DMZ IP address of the printer in the router to open ports which also insist on remaining blocked.

I considered all the reasons, we'd lose communication with their scanner.  The reasons are plentiful and can leave a user struggling for hours trying to get their scanner to communicate with their computer.  After that a standard troubleshooting is complete, they turn to their router.  Of course, this message only relates to people who have their printers attached to their computer with an Ethernet cable or wireless.  Before I define exactly what means DMZ, first of all I want to look at why you want to do.

Printers to communicate through several different ports.  Often routers are configured with an internal firewall to protect users of computers from outside attacks.  In this way, the only information that the computer receives comes from what the router allows through.  People might DMZ their computer for games purposes, but it would be a very bad idea.  People are misled by "reliable companies," which suggests this in order to access their personal files.  Essentially, the goal was really to contain the amount of traffic actually pass through the router at the same time so this is a feature of security and service.

A printer has been designed to communicate through a series of ports, but sometimes these ports are blocked.  Maybe the router is due for an update, or a firmware update was conducted which could cause the printer to lose communication.  Often, people can still print which is what it makes it even more confusing.  Ports of printing are simple and well known in the world of routers.  However, scanners to operate on a level more complex.  Information is received by a port and another goes out.

Some companies may even install a proxy server in order to reduce bandwidth and record or monitor traffic which is an example of a blocked port.  In addition, as an extra level of protection, routers differ in the configuration so that it is difficult to gain access to a network for malicious purposes.  Depending on the router and other sources of firewall, like on the computer (antivirus software and Windows Firewall), these ports may deny access to a device of 'unknown' otherwise on what seems to be a random basis.  Of course, it is not random, but the timing is always impeccable none-the-less.

DMZ printer (also known as the port forwarding in some cases) would mean completely open all the ports of this device.  It stands for demilitarized Zone.  Open ports in this subnet to the router allows access without any additional security.  That's why doing it on the IP address of the computer is a bad idea because that which allows people outside access to your computer network.  With ports closed here, they are allowed access by the user as a download in an email that contains a virus.

On a printer, there is no way to access the files, install viruses or damage to the printer.  Especially if it's just a home network, the risk of attack is null.  It's not as if they could tap into your network as long as it is password protected initially.  The pirates have honestly no reason to print on your printer, in order to open the ports for access to the printer is perfectly acceptable and safe.  Now, if you were totally to the DMZ the router, then Yes, but a advanced user would know the term, just so the application, expresses or misunderstood is still virtually impossible to do the entire router.  Instead, just follow these steps so that you know that there is nothing blocking the scanner to work.

Because routers differ from a product, a non-technical person would better communicate with their provider internet router service or undertaking for them through the steps on how to do.  Directly into the router just looks like a bad idea if you have never done it before.  Sometimes the router companies will help you for free if you are in warranty, if not the biggest complaint I hear is that they want you to pay xx.xx amount to do what your internet service provider must be able to do it for free.  If you find that you are unable to find someone to do it for free, you can always search the router manual and find information in the title of port forwarding.  However, that information is not openly scattered on the world wide web because of the risk factor to plug the wrong numbers and completely block the communication with the printer.

After I uninstalled the printer, temporarily disabled the startup and anti-virus programs, reinstalled the printer software and find I'm still able to analyze, the next thing I look at is the router.  A technical agent on the phone, I didn't have the right to access the 3rd party software and hardware, that I have been trained, so I sent an email, which included all the ports, the printer uses and at the request of a reminder.  You can just go down the list of ports and follow the instructions on how to open each one individually, or you could just DMZ IP address which opens all ports on the printer.  Seems easier to DMZ it or what is even easier to do just told someone else to do not understand the definition themselves.

As I said, it can be confusing and frustrating, especially if it is beyond your level of troubleshooting, but everyone who has managed to do, so always the spokesperson saying they could analyze now.  9 times out of 10 it worked.  And at that time, he remained effectively resolved.  With regard to the other 10%, they had other issues inside the computer as well.

So, if you are already in this situation, contact your router or your ISP company for how to do this.  Here is the list of ports that I would include in my email, which would also suggest updating the firmware on the router first, and then going on with port forwarding.  This is all from my understanding and experience, I learned this. It's rather simple information that I hope will help you understand why someone would tell you to do.

  • WRT54GL: Fast cable internet connection; very slow wireless

I have been chasing a problem for months and I am at the end of my mind.

I started with a cable modem Motorola SB5101 and Buffalo bison wrt-hp-g54.  For years, we had a (intermittent) desperately slow wireless connectivity.  Recently I started to run through Speakeasy.NET speed tests to try to find a motive.

Wire speed is consistently running 15-16 Mbit/s, compatible with the speed promised our cable package.

Wireless speeds were a different matter.  From multiple computers, they would sometimes as soon as the wire speed; then all of a sudden (from all wireless computers) the speed would fall to 0.5 Mbit/s or less, then the speed measured on our single wired computer remained at 15 Mbps.

Restart the router would mitigate the problem for a while, and then the wireless would fall up to 0.5 Mbps.

Wire speed would remain stable at the nominal 15 Mbit/s.

Well, looked like a bad router.  I replaced it with a WRT54GL hardware version 1.1.  I've updated the firmware to the last - v4.30.16.

I selected a channel (2) wireless network what inSSIDer 3 watch is not used by any neighboring router (i.e., no interference).  I have that checked regularly and am sure that interference is not the problem.  The router is configured for the wireless G only; WPA - AES.

The same problem occurs with the new Linksys router.

In desperation I replaced the old modem SB5101 with a new SB6141 cable, not believing there could be everything possible that could help but, this what the devil - we will eliminate it as a factor as possible and go to DOCSIS 2.0 to DOCSIS 3.0.

    The problem persists.

Thus, new router, cable modem brand new, constant wire-speed, without strong signals wireless, channel interference all around. but the problem persists. There has been no improvement on the old hardware I used.

All computers, but a (XP Pro) is running Windows 7 Pro.

The problem is not predictable, except that the speed degradation will happen sooner or later - and this is not progressive.  Suddenly, he fell like a stone and sticks to 0.4 to 0.5 Mbits/sec.  Reboot the router (usually) will fix it for a while, and sometimes it will clear up on its own, given enough time.

I ran inSSIDer several times while this is happening, but he sees no other no signal on the channel I use--in fact, none on adjacent channels either.

I checked from wireless to the router table and there is no other than our device, so it does not appear that the network has been hacked.

Does anyone have an idea what might be going on or suggest an action plan?

The only thing I can think is that there is something between the router and the computers wireless in the House which is eating up 95% of the bandwidth wireless - a sort of voting out of control.  But what?  I'm completely stuck.

Follow-up.  I changed the channel 1 wireless; After doing some research I realized that sharing a channel (as long as your signal is at least 20 dB louder) causes fewer conflicts overlapping channels.  I have not changed anything else.  I'm tempted to allow the break-up of the frame but implementation of that seems to be somewhat specific to the supplier so I'll let it be.  In any event the wireless speed now as fast as the wire speed.

The result is that since the re - install the Linksys firmware and do a hard reset that I saw not a single instance of the speed problem.  So I still don't know exactly what caused in the first place, but I'm glad that the problem has disappeared, so I'll just let things be.

    Thank you!

  • Much faster WRT54GL (5.4mpbs down) wired then on wireless (1.2mbps down)

    Hello

I have speed issues on the side of my WRT54GL Wireless Router v1.1.

When I plug in a laptop to the wired port, I get about 5.4mps down when wired, but only 1.2mpbs down the wireless.

I'm tempted to do a factory restore. I made sure no quality of service is in place. I tried several devices to make sure that this is not something on the side of the device causing this problem, but all devices perform just as badly the wireless but also on cable.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix this?

Change channel wireless 1, 6 or 9. Make sure that wireless security is set to WPA Personal.

  • Help - can't get the firmware to install WRT54GL ver 1.1

Hi everyone, I spent and openwrt 2.4 and now you want to put the linksys back on. I followed all the instructions and just can't get it to happen - what am I doing wrong

    1. the unit is in safe mode - by pressing reset after power cycling the unit wait for the DMZ light press the reset button, the DMZ light is now flashing 3 times a sec

    2. I can ping 192.168.1.1 I can telnet 192.168.1.1

    3. I asked a technician online Tftp.exe as no download links I could find worked

    4. that unity is a worm WRT54GL 1.1 I downloaded FW_WRT54GL_4.30.12.3_US_EN_code, 0.zip - which I confirmed with the tech online as being the firmware available only

    5. I unzipped the firmware to 4 above

    6. as reported by online technology took the network port on my laptop that is running Windows XP to 10 Mbps half duplex

    7. have you opened Tftp.exe and putting 192.168.1.1 as a server, the password is the root password I put in openwrt and I selected the .bin for sync unziped file

    8. the program says can not find server

Here, I'm to and are now totally stumped as to why it did not work.

I downloaded another program http://www.brothersoft.com/tftp-client-122473.html tftp

Try this software, I've learned an opcode not valid (2), which seems to indicate that she at least contact, but something is not right. Just for a test, I unplugged the modem and re - run the second program tftp and it cam back saying "no response from the server", confirmed by the first thought at least he did make contact. This second program has not anywhere where you can set a password. This program also installs a two command line option that I could not get to work

So I have the following questions

    1. the use of telnet for the WRT I can confirm that tftp server is running

    2. can I get like a tail-f on a log file in WRT so I can try and see where it is a failure

Other than that, can anyone add 2 c as to why it will now work for me

Hi everyone, I found a way to get the update to work. As long as you still have SSH access which is

    1. with WRT mode normal ssh in to your openwrt

    2. rename the .bin into something more small it IE firmware.bin and upload it to somewhere on the net it's easy access

    3. in the ssh window cd /tmp/

    4 wget http://domainname.com/firmware.bin

    5. to make a writing /tmp/FW.bin linux mtd & restart I got this error

    Trx bad header
If it is a firmware as well, as some of the
the original firmware files, use the following command to convert trx:
    dd if = of = firmware.trx firmware.bin * beep * = 32 skip = 1
    6. so I did what he told dd if = of = firmware.trx firmware.bin * beep * = 32 skip = 1

    7. then go bat writing linux /tmp/firmware.trx & reboot

And it's not all good - what a relief

  • WRT54GL cannot transmit from inside the LAN port?

    Hello

I have a Server servers running several (HTTP, SVN, FTP,...) inside my network.

I used to have a SMC router in the past, and of course I had to use port forwarding.

This is why I realized that when we "talk" to the server, I can 'talk' to the router that will forward requests to the right compurer, based on the NAT table. If, for example, that if I move the SVN server, I don't have to change the path to the repository, change the NAT entry is OK in this case.

If this is not understandable, here 's another report.

However, I discovered that even if my new WRT54GL seems to be much more advanced, it cannot do this. Requests made to the router from within the local network are not transferred to the right place.

Is there a way to accomplish what we need, or at least a road map? It's sad that the SMC products otherwise is not very reliable can do...

    Kind regards

    Matej

    Well, I have it solved.

I tried to convey the SVN, HTTP, FTP, and SSH.

However, it was not working when the server IP assigned by DHCP.

When I set up (the server within the LAN) to use the static IP address, not only that port forwarding began to make sense, but I have seen web pages by typing my public IP address in the browser on a computer inside the LAN.

What surprised me, is that it only worked when the server had assigned auto private IP address. I know that these addresses change so it would not very long work, but it did not work even before that t has changed...

  • WRT54GL and Windows 7 log in question

    I have a network of several PC on my WRT54GL router - firmware 4.30.14 building 5, October 26, 2009

All PC's are XP SP3 except a Win 7 PC

When I access my WRT54GL from all of my XP computers, I connect at once and I'm done. I can access all the pages then configuration.

When I connect with my Win 7 computer, I get the security pop Windows window whenever I click on a page or a new tab.
I can see all of the pages and tabs without problem once I get the password again, but it's really annoying that he keeps asking

for the log information for each new item, I click on.

Checking her memorize my box of credentials is not good, it always ask again and again

This is my first Windows 7 computer, not sure how to stop this behavior annoying.

Any help on this is appreciated

This is the window that will open all the time

    Update

This seems to be a question of IE9

I saw just the router with Firefox and Windows 7

He only asked for username and password once and I was able to browse all the pages without further asked for info, log in.

I'll go ahead and mark it as a solution because it seems a problem of IE9

  • WRT54GL and Xbox Live

Hey there everyone.  Lately I had problems with my WRT54GL and Xbox Live.  When I try to connect to Xbox Live, it fails.  When I do a network test to check what the problem is, it says that I'm connected to the Internet, but I can't connect to Xbox Live.  I have opened the appropriate ports on my router and have even tried to put the Xbox 360 on the DMZ.  No solution helped.  I also tried to disable the firewall router SPI and its SecureEasySetup.  Still no luck.

I powercycled my all network equipment and called my ISP (Time Warner Cable). My ISP says that the problem is not on their end.  I plugged the 360 Wireless at first, but also tried plugging it directly into the router.  Xbox always gives me the same error. The only thing I can not try connect the 360 directly to the cable modem.  When I got my service installed in my new apartment, I forgot get address MAC connected to Time Warner Cable of 360.  Normally, this is a problem since the router's MAC is the only one that matters. However, this also means that I can't connect directly to the modem to see if it is really a router problem.

If anyone knows a place or how to get it to work, I'd be very happy.  I know that the WRT54GL is not certified with the little "Xbox Live Compatible" stamp, if I need to get a new router is not totally out of the question.  I wanted just to eliminate any possible problems that might arise before that.

Connect the router directly on your computer with an Ethernet cable, then download this to your desktop.

Open your browser and type "192.168.1.1" with the URL of the box, the two username and password should be "admin" unless amended.

Now, navigate to the administration tab and find the update of the firmware, and then install the file that you put on your desktop.

You now need to reset the router, press and hold the reset for 30 seconds button and unplug the power cable for 1 minute.

Log in to the router DHCP enable/change, 20 Mhz, SSID, channel 11 - band Radio 2.46Gh, then work on getting your security put in place again.

Go into the settings advanced wireless
Change the tag to 75 interval, modify the threshold of fragmentation to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304, now save the settings.

  • WRT54GL wired connection drops

I've got a WRT54GL Wireless G from Linksys. I do not currently use wireless. (I've disabled.) It worked fine when I got it, but now removes several times a day. The frequency of drops has increased during the last two weeks. A manual reboot of the WRT54GL resets the connection. (The connection is lost too whenever the computer is restarted and it also forces me to restart the WRT54GL)

To initially get a connection, I had to follow the routers cascading tutorial that requires the internet to be put at the first port and way wired for access from the second computer. (Because I'm using a combination modem/router device, connect the cable to the modem/router directly on the internet/ADSL port on the WRT54GL did not.)

I tried to access Google directly by IP (74.125.159.106) and this does not work, even if I can't actually search. (I deleted the browser cache before checking this.) The lights on the modem/router and the WRT54GL are turned on, then the two seem to work fine. I can also access the web interface for the WRT54GL. (I don't think I can access the web interface of the router/modem, but I need to confirm that the next time the connection drops).

For this reason, I don't know if it's really drop the connection, or if I'm just unable to what location. What I read, it can be linked to a dns issue, but I don't know much about these things.

    Thanks for any help

Maybe you've found the 192.168.1.x ip address between your modem and that's why you get no internet when you connect the modem to the router on the internet port.

Your router does not work as a router here... You connect the modem to the router to the Ethernet port, it works as a switch...

I would suggest that allowing you to convert the modem in Bridge mode and then connect the modem to the router on the internet and computer port to the router to the ethernet port... Now open the linksys configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and configure the router with PPPoE settings.

The second is option... Connect the modem to the router on the internet and computer port to the router to the ethernet port... Now open the linksys configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Now, change the ip address of the router linksys 192.168.2.1 and save settings... Network power cycle and it should.

    Check out this link.

If you have found the intermittent connection to the router then, reduce the MTU to 1350 and cycle power to the router.
