Several page PDF in Illustrator CS5

I have two pages in Illustrator and I want to create a 2-page PDF file. In CS3, there was a page multiple selection PDF I could do in the save my Illustrator file dialog box. This feature is not there in Illustrator CS5. Is this possible to do?

Thanks in advance

Sarah

You simply use the option "use work plans.

  • Add a document to a several-page .pdf document

Why when I scan a document and add to an existing multi page .pdf document scanned page appear as a much larger?

Well, if you are Windows on a machine, you can print the page scanned to the Adobe PDF printer and set the page size to use... This will generate a new PDF with good size that you can then insert into the original file.

Another option is to use a script plugin of taxation across the page to the desired size, without having to re - print.

  • Save PDF in Illustrator CS5

As I save my file, I chose the PDF format, but does not display the PDF options box. I can't access anything in Illustrator unless I have press ESC or enter. I need to access my PDF options to save the document for printing. I got CS5 for a few months now, I use this feature almost every day - I can't understand why this is happening. Any suggestions?

You used to have multiple monitors and now use only one. Looks like the dialog box is somewhere off the screen. The part of the ESC is a give.

  • Several page PDF

    Hi all

I have a 20pg document in Word and wanted to have better control design available before creating the PDF file.

I basically cut and pasted the text in Illustrator and exported once I was happy with the layout page by page in pdf format.

Now if I was to remove text, I'd then edit each page after, and recreate the PDF problem.

There must be a better way that I'm not aware of?

In Design might be a better tool for this?

Basically, I would like to be able to have a document multi-page which gives me a much better control of the layout of Word, but still allows that I can export as PNG, JPEG or PDF.

    Any help/information appreciated!

    Thank you!

That function as WORD... Yes and no.

Unlike WORD, you cannot just type and have the text to a flow in columns and the pages, BUT it can be done. You must configure your text boxes and your columns, and then you can link the text boxes, the text flows between them. It is actually a scenario better since you could split a 'page' in 2 columns by inserting 2 text boxes and have boxed text a reflow in text box to page 2 and not effect B text box. You could also write in a journal format and have an article go to page 15, by linking the text box to a text box on this page.

I hope this helps... Good luck!

    Suggestions?

    Thank you...

    Hello

Select the object and the object > linking the palette, select the global link.

As long as the objects have the same name, the information entered in the fields automatically appear in the others.

  • Use Illustrator for several page document?

I'm usually the FrameMaker and, to some extent, areas of InDesign, but a potential client asked me to work on a document for them.

They are doing a reference guide fast (I guess a single sheet folded into six panels, or multiple sheets folded and stapled into a booklet) and plan to do in Illustrator.

I've done these before in InDesign, but wanted to know if there is some capacity in Illustrator to make the document there, for one of the above formats.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Stairs:

    Yes!

To do this, you use the functionality of the artboard in Illustrator. When you create a new document, specify the number of workplans (aka pages) you need and the amount of space between, etc. Once you have your document updated in place, to zoom out and see all the work plans outlined in the grid you specified. If you don't see it, make sure that "show the work plans" is checked in the view menu.

You will not be able to create a master page, as you can in India, but you can stick to the same place on all work plans - I think that the command (mac) is command + shift + option + V. Cut you the original (command + x) item and then paste it in place on all pages.

    Interesting information:

    • If you open the palette of the artboard, you can name the work plans. When you export, say described SPE, you can choose 'use work plans' and you will get a separate eps file for each WITH THE NAME of the palette of the graphic board work plan, plus a file with all the plans of working together. Record in PDF format made a several page PDF as you would expect. You can choose out of a work plan.
    • Also, with the artboard open palette, you can double-click on a name of the artboard and Illustrator will pass to the artboard in format full screen. Very convenient when you have a lot of work plans.
    • You can change the layout of your work plans by clicking in the upper right of the palette of the artboard and choosing reorganize work plans (or something close to that). Make sure that everything is unlocked, otherwise they move with the new drink.
    • And finally, you can change the size of a work plan using the work plan of the tool palette tool or by double-clicking the artboard icon in the palette, which will bring up a dialog box...

I'm a fan of InDesign, I feel your pain. One of my clients is a manufacturer of items sold at retail for which we design and prepare for the printing of many packages/donor cards, etc. Before the existence of the function of work plan, we had a separate Illy file for each SKU. He permits to be much more organized, and you don't get hit with seven gazillion files when you open a folder. (I tried to get them to convert into India, but really, it is not set up for this type of use, so I had to learn the ins and outs of the Illustrator and have come to appreciate for many things. Unfortunately, manipulation of type is not one of them, but it is designed to make designs, not the value type).

Good luck and best regards - D

  • Auto flow Multi Page PDF

I wonder if anyone knows how to automatically throw a multi-page PDF in InDesign CS5. I have a 350 PDF page that I need to import, each page of the PDF file in a new page in the document. Something that works like the shift + click with a cursor loaded to word documents? Or a script that allows me to put a PDF file like this?

Open the actions panel, either in apple or java scripts: find placeMultiPagePdf and double-click: follow and select dialog

  • Splitting multi page PDF files

    Hello

Anyone know of a way to divide several page PDF into individual documents? Before each page is a single PDF document?

The reason I ask is because I can PDF a whole book inside Indesign, which is much faster than PDFing each page individually. But our printers do not accept several page PDF documents. I think its because they have to break them down to their end. So I was wondering if you can take a 30 PDF page and divide it.

If acrobat is not, anyone else think that it would be a very useful feature?

    Any shared knowledge welcome!

  • New to Illustrator CS5 - saving it to pdf fuction

    Hi all

I'm new to Illustrator and have the CS5 version, a friend asked me to change an Illustrator someone has done for them. So far no problem, I did the updates I had to do (pretty easy), but the problem comes when saving the file in pdf format... the file is a 2 page brochure in illustrator, there are 2 plans to work side by side (1 for each page), but whenever I save this in pdf format the pdf repeat page 2 and shows it as if it was a cover page in the pdf file. So basically I end up with a pdf file showing the page 2 of the booklet and then showing page 1 and 2 together when really all I want to see is page 1 and 2 together, I don't know why it's showing page 2 again in the pdf file... I tried to look on the net for info and it may have to do with print tiling but I do not know... When I look at the open illustrator file I have 2 pages in front of me (1 in each work plan) as an open book, the strange thing is that if I click on page 1 (left), he shows me a number 1 at the bottom of page 1 and a number 2 at the bottom of page 2, that sounds right. But when I click on page 2 (right), it shows me a number 1 at the bottom of page 2, which seems to be the reason why this page is repeated at the beginning of the pdf file but I don't know how to cancel it. The goal is to get a pdf file that show me page 1 and 2 without repeating essentially, I need to see the same what I see watching the illustrator file... can anyone help?

    Thank you in advance!

There could be three work plans. Look in Control Panel work plans. Work plans may overlap, and it is possible that this page 2 of the brochure exactly overlaps another plan of work. If so, delete a. You can also save to PDF and enter custom page range, like 2, 3.

  • HP 5520 scan several pages to 1 pdf doc

Using the HP Photosmart 5520 HP printer Assistant software I can't scan multiple pages to 1 doc pdf.  It's on Windows 7 with a Wi - Fi connection.  Advanced settings, files tab contains a checkbox to create a single file for each page, but it didn't matter if this box is checked or not because I always get 1 file for each page.

After each scan, there is only a back or save or option.  If the backup is selected a file is created. any other parameter ignores the scan and start again.  There are no icons that indicate several pages.

    Hello

First of all make sure that the checkbox is not checked to scan multiple pages into a single file.

Then, reduce the resolution to 300 DPI or lower and make sure that the option Preview.

Now, you should find an Add button under the preview of the scan.
